I've been to Salento twice now, so I feel like I got a good sense of what they have to offer…read more I started with the carne empanadas, which came with complimentary chimichurri and hot sauce. They were crispy on the outside, warm on the inside, and filled with flavorful meat. The sauces paired perfectly with them and made an already great appetizer even better. For my entrée, I ordered the Bandeja Paisa, and it did not disappoint. The meats were the star of the plate. Everything was juicy, cooked perfectly, and seasoned just enough without being overpowering. The steak was surprisingly tender despite being well done, with just the right amount of fat. The sausage had a great snap, the egg was perfectly jammy, and the chicharrón was absolutely incredible--crispy, crunchy, and easily one of the best I've had. I didn't try the sweet plantains since I'm not a fan and they couldn't be substituted. The arepa was good, although nothing particularly memorable. The only parts of the meal I wasn't impressed with were the rice, which was a bit too salty for my taste, and the beans, which lacked flavor and were underwhelming. For dessert, I tried both the tiramisu and the chocolate cake. The tiramisu was just okay--it wasn't bad, but it didn't stand out, and I wouldn't order it again. The chocolate cake, however, was outstanding. It was incredibly moist, rich without being overly sweet, and the perfect way to end the meal. Overall, Salento does an amazing job with their meats, and that's what I'd recommend most. While a couple of the sides and one dessert didn't quite hit the mark for me, the empanadas, Bandeja Paisa, chicharrón, and chocolate cake were all excellent. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. The environment is pretty nice and quiet.

I'm from Miami where good Latin food is basically on every corner fighting for your attention so my expectations were HIGH. I decided to gamble on DoorDash and stumbled across this Colombian spot. Dear Jesus what have I been missing? First, I ordered the tostones with chicharrón and let me tell you those pork pieces were crunching louder than my knees getting out of bed in the morning. Absolutely amazing. Then came the breakfast plate with rice and beans, scrambled eggs, and steak. That steak was so good I almost stood up in my hotel room and started singing romantic Spanish ballads to the container. At this point, I'm not even ashamed to admit I'm probably ordering from this same place again tomorrow and maybe the next day too while I'm here working. The delivery driver is about to know me by first name. 100% recommended. Whoever is cooking back there deserves a raise and possibly a vacation.

The guac with chicharrones and tostones was my favorite out of everything, crispy chicharron, crispy tostones and a very creamy guac that was to die for! They also gave us some house sauces that i loved. Ambiance was also making me feel like i was actually in Colombia! The delicias plate was a smaller portion of the bandeja paisa and it was perfect without being too much. Loved it!

I got the pabellon arepa and taqueños to go and there was a very short wait (they make the arepas fresh!), but it was so good. I also enjoyed house made mango juice which was very refreshing on a hot summer day. Parking is a bit tight, but there's more parking within walking distance. All in all, a very authentic, local spot.

The server was really friendly and recommended some great options for us. We ordered the following: 1) THE QUEEN - classic Venezuelan "chicken salad" with their home-made avocado mayo, cilantro and sliced avocados (also known as the Reina Pepiada). Fresh with a great balance of umami flavors! The cilantro green sauce was an amazing add-on with a little spicy kick! 2) PORKO LOCO - slow cooked pork marinated in red wine with queso blanco. Tender, moist, and very flavorful. Amazing! 3) CACHAPA - soft crispy pancake made with sweet corn and fried cheese in the middle. Flavor bomb of sweet and savory! 4) EMPANADA (BEEF) - tender, shredded beef with great flavor of savory. The dipping sauce was white, tangy, vinegary, creamy with a slight spiciness. Delicious! 5) SOURSOP JUICE - rare to find restaurants with this drink. Ate the actual fruits in my homeland in SE Asia. The juice was milky/creamy, sweet with an earthy taste. Great health benefits eating or drinking soursop -- antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, etc. Other notable item was the Passion Fruit Juice however, I did not try it. My bestie really liked it. Overall, wonderful experience at the restaurant of the food, service and great interior feeling creating a great ambiance. Definitely will visit again and try out more menu items.
