    a plate of fried rice
    Rich H.

I tried out Pisco's Peruvian Restaurant today for lunch and got the Carne de Chaufa. It's Peruvian fried rice with steak, eggs, and green onions. For only $17 you get enough rice for two meals easily. The steak was tender and the green onions had a bit of crunch to it. Overall a great plate of beef fried rice. The only thing missing was some kind of sauce to tie it together. The leftovers I had for dinner tonight and I fried an egg over-easy. Mixing the runny yolk with the rice was perfect. It's a nice restaurant and I would definitely try it again.

Service is great, food is yummy and very flavorful. The fried rice is great but had a chicken breast with beans and onion salad so yummy.

This restaurant is tucked in on Southside Blvd, so you could miss it. However it's worth going to. Upon entering, I noticed cute dining tables that felt like I was at someone's grandmothers house. Nice table cloths with the plastic. Very elegant feel and very clean. Staff were constantly cleaning. I was disappointed that there weren't more people. Service - Amazing. Very nice and catered to us. We asked questions and were given great recommendations. Food - We had the yucca fries and beef hearts to start. I was surprised by the beef hearts, but it was very flavorful and delicious. The yucca fries came with a surprisingly cold cheese sauce, but good. The kids meals were huge. Our entrees were delicious. My husband got the steak lomo saltado and I got the pesto spaghetti with steak. Each very different and delicious. The Komi lomo had a great sauce and came with everything my husband wanted (i.e. fries, rice, onions, tomatoes and steak). I loved how rich the pesto spaghetti was and it wasn't overpowered by cheese. We ended with ice cream for the kids and flan. Everyone makes flan different to me and this was thicker, but delicious. We definitely plan to go back. This was a friend's recommendation and I'm glad I listened.

I've been living in Jacksonville for about 3 months now and this is the restaurant that I have been to the most. I'm a big fan of small, homey places with authentic flavors and this place perfectly hits every mark. Every single dish has the perfect flavor and balance. The Ceviche is fresh and delicious with peruvian corn and lots of lime juice. The Jalea de Mariscos is fried to perfection and the right amount to share. The arroz chaufa is my husbands favorite and its a great price for the amount of food. The things I can say about dishes and service are endless but this place deserves it. Flavors are just like in Peru and I'm happy every time I walk in!

I placed a Togo order. The food containers were well wrapped in plastic so that nothing was going to spill. I wish all restaurants did this. Server was very pleasant and the restaurant interior was large and looked like a comfortable place to eat. When I got back to hotel, food was still hot and all necessary utensils included. Chicharron was one of the best: crispy outside and juicy inside and most importantly well seasoned and not too salty. Platanos were not overcooked and were sweeeeet. Loved them. I did not like the beef in the rice: it was tough and chewy but the chicken was good and the rice perfecto. When I. Jacksonville, I definitely will order again.

Service and food is amazing here. Loved the Ceviche de pescado- just like I remember the flavor from Peru. Gracias!

My wife and I had dinner here with friends. Food was delicious. I ordered the Chicharrones de Pollo. Since this is a Peruvian restaurant, they use chicken breast chunks fried to a crisp. (I was used to chicken thigh pieces with the skin still attached and fried to a crisp which maybe a Cuban-type Chicharrones de pollo). The chicken meat was nicely fried and moist. It's a little healthier since it's all white meat. For the sides, I had the sweet plantains and chaufa, Peruvian style fried rice. I had a bite of my wife's order, Bistec Encebollado, steak and onions and she had a big side of the Peruvian fried rice. She initially received a side of fries which was corrected. Fries and rice kind of sound the same right :) The fried rice was superb. We were still kinda full from our brunch earlier, but we still ate everything. Good service! Note: If you don't pay by cash, prepare to pay a 4% surcharge (based on my receipt) for using a credit card. No bueno.

First time to try this place out for lunch and it was good! I had the lunch special which included sou, entree of the day and a drink for $10.95 and it was well worth it. The soup was reminiscent of a very good beef and vegetable soup. That alone would have made my tummy happy, but then the entree came. Cooked to perfection chicken with vegetables in a thin sauce. Hubby had the beef version and they were both excellent. Keep this place in mind for your next meal out.

We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Hands down the most authentic Peruvian food we've found in the greater Jacksonville area. The servers all wore masks and the establishment seemed concerned with Covid 19 precautions. Our server was very attentive and friendly. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. The mural has been painted 7/2015, so obviously the restaurant has some longevity. I highly recommend trying it. We will definitely be making a return visit because everything was so good and there are other things on the menu we are anxious to try. Speaking Spanish or knowing how to use Google translate is a plus, but the menu does have some translations.

Now let's try this new concept here. We decided to sit at the bar and we were handed menus on IPads. Wow, this is different. We can't order on it but it was simply a digital menu. We ordered a few things. For drinks we got the Lula's Blue Pisco (Pisco, blue curacao, coconut cream, agave, like and coconut rum) and a Peruvian Prince (Peruvian Pisco, passionfruit liquor, peach Schnapps, lime, bitters). Both drinks were strong but the Blue Pisco was skrong. We both liked the taste. We later ordered a Mi Amor (7 misterios Mezcal, muddled watermelon, passionfruit, lime). Also strong and I'm not a watermelon person, but it was hard to not enjoy it. For apps, we got the Totstones Achorados (green plantains, mussels, tomatoes, onions, cilantro) and the Chicharron de Atun (seasoned bluefin tuna crackling, fresh housemade guac, fried jalapeno, cambray onion). The Chicharron surprised me as I didn't think the little fish rounds would be such a tasty snack. And the guac was really creamy, not salty. The tostones were impressive. My man said that normally they would be very dry but these weren't. The toppings on them, while not bringing a strong flavor, were cool and refreshing. For entrees, we got the Pulpo A La Parrilla (grilled octopus, fried potatoes, salad) and the Arroz Chaufa with Steak (white rice, eggs, chopped onions, chopped bell peppers, ginger, and sesame oil). The latter is a Peruvian version of Chinese fried rice. This was delicious! The flavors were much stronger and bolder and he could only eat half of it at this point. The rest was taken home and tasted just as good 2 days later. The octopus was great. I didn't think that I would also be getting part of the head with my meal but I was fine with that. I saw some people complain about their octopus being too chewy but I honestly will eat it anyway. I love it. The Peruvian corn that topped it was so sweet and delicious. The side of remoulade I used for everything on my plate as it was a great dipping sauce. We were too full to get dessert and threw in the napkins. The ladies waiting on all of us were so kind and took great care of us. This is definitely a place we will be returning to.
