I've driven passed El Rinconcito De Lima for over two years, only to muster up the courage to try it a few weeks back. The verdict? It was so good I visited two days in a row! Do not sleep on this unassuming Peruvian food truck. These guys are legit. They even have an indoor, air-conditioned seating area with a flat-screen television. During my inaugural visit, Enter The Dragon was on; hell to the yeah! Onto the delicious food: Papa Rellena - Stupendously tasty. The potato was tender to the umpteenth degree. Probably my favorite dish here, because it was just unexpectedly delicious and full of massive amounts of flavor. Beef Empanada - I'm typically let down by empanadas, but this one was a winner. Seasoned beef was the frontrunner in making the saliva run down my chin. Good texture from the dough, as well. Tamales de Chancho - A GREAT tamale. Soft, delicate, I almost wanted to put a bow on it and not touch it. Interesting flavors and textures made this a memorable bite for me. Taco Tacu con Lomo Saltado - This is Lomo Saltado on steroids, because it's loaded with rice underneath. I wish the beef and the rice were cooked a little less, but the veggies had beautiful texture to them. The owners are super nice. It's a locals only type place, so shhhh don't let the word out! Kidding, show these guys some love. This Beach Blvd. hole-in-the-wall deserves it!

This small restaurant may be hard to find because it looks like you are pulling into the parking lot of an auto repair shop, but it is well worth finding! Our family held a dinner party here for one member who is married to a Peruvian. We had different menu items but we all agreed that the food was delicious. The service was excellent, as well. We were there on a less busy night so I don't know how it is on weekends. I would definitely go back and to try another dish. I had the chicken Lomo Saltado; so good!

My coworkers and I had lunch here. This place was hard to find. I guess they moved to a new location, but when we got there, we saw a food truck parked in front and a small room for dining. They cook the food in the truck and bring to the dining area. I'm not going to complain since the food is delicious. Good Peruvian food. I ordered the Aji de Gallina. It's pulled boiled chicken breast in a creamy yellow sauce served with boiled potato slices and white rice. Loved the yellow sauce, but the plate could definitely use more chicken. Plenty of carbs, but not enough protein to offset. I had a taste of their Lomo Saltado (sliced steak chunks) and Pollo A La Brasa. The pollo (chicken) was slow roasted in authentic Peruvian charcoal rotisserie oven. The taste is out of this world! Too bad they only offer 1/4 chicken platter. 1/2 chicken platter would have been nice. Friendly family-owned establishment. 3.5 stars!

Yumm! There is not much else I can say about this restaurant. It's a little hole in the wall type of place but oh what a wonderful surprise. This is the most authentic Peruvian restaurant I've tried in Jacksonville. I have already planned to come back next week a try the lomo saltado and the seafood soup. I recommend the ceviche, you will not find a fresher one anywhere!

    Beef empanada. Wow! Delish.

A friend of mine advised that he had eaten at El Rinconcito De Lima earlier in the week and suggested we go for lunch. I was in the mood for pho or ramen and really didn't want to go, but he insisted. As we approcahed the location, I was a bit turned off and starting giving my lunch partner the serious side eye. We walked by the food truck (kitchen), where we were greeted by the individuals cooking and into a small eating area. I was immediately impressed with how clean it looked and smelled. So my doubt eased and I proceeded to scan the menu. To my surprise, it was filled with many options and they all looked amazing. Having been an avid diner at Cerviche Jax, I was eager to see how El Rinconcito De Lima would compare. We decided on a few dishes for comparison's sake. The first were the empanadas. These are by far the best I have had. They were filled with seasoned beef and onions. Absolutely delish! We then had a ceviche-type cold soup that had quite the kick. It was like nothing I had tasted before. The dish was filled with red onions, fish and a tiger milk based broth that exploded with the tanginess of lime and added heat. The first taste had me puckering like a fish, but after getting used it, I found it to be really tasty. Next, we had the chicken. Nobody does Peruvian chicken like the people of Peru and this place did not disappoint. It was grilled and seasoned to perfection and extremely moist. Since, I originally had a desire for soup, I ordered the Parihuela, which was filled with calamari, shrimp, fish, mussels, onions, peppers and potatoes (or may yucca). It also included a side of rice, which would have gone great mixed with the soup. Move over gumbo! Amazing was the best word to describe this dish. My soup craving was completely satisfied. I even had enough to take home for leftovers. I have finally found a Peruvian restaurant I can go to for a delicious meal. Again, the atmosphere was a bit different; however, the food and music totally made up for it. I was also pleasantly surprised with the bill, which was relatively cheap for all of the food we ordered. I will most definitely visit this establishment again and suggest that you treat yourself to El Rinconcito De Lima's delicious cuisine.

It's been years since I ate traditional Peruvian food . I left my country and I haven't been back ever since but I carry with me the taste of our DELICIOUS foods and traditions . I was too HAPPY when my husband found Rinconcito De Lima. From excellent customer service to the plenty portion of DELICIOUS Peruvian food at the right price. This is definitely our new favorite spot

The food is great! Little spot owned by local Peruvian, I can definitely say the taste and price are great and they carry all the common plates. Very happy with this and recommend if you're looking for authentic Peruvian cuisines. Their leche de tigre, pollo a la brasa, lomo saltado, al phenomena!

I little gem in Jacksonville. The Peruvian food is very authentic here. I visit Jacksonville for a couple of days, I have lunch here almost every day. It is a small place with great customer service. The food is delicious and the portions are good. You need to try it!

The place is closed but still accepts food orders for some reason. Had to get grubhub to refund me the money.

Amazing Peruvian food the the most unexpected place!

Best little hole in the wall you will find! If you love Peruvian food this is a must! My boyfriend is from Lima and does not "do" flea markets by any chance but goes out of his way to eat here every weekend along with all of his Peruvian friends. If that isn't a good sign I'm not sure what is. His favorite dish is the Pollo a la brasa (Rotisserie Chicken) and the Lomo Saltado. Both are amazing and full of flavor! They also have a green hot sauce that is out of this world, they refuse to share the recipe but I highly recommend you try it! The worst part is this is tricky to find. You have to weave your way through the flea market to find the food court area, I'd make it an adventure hunt whilst browsing the vendors. Good luck!

Now let's try this new concept here. We decided to sit at the bar and we were handed menus on IPads. Wow, this is different. We can't order on it but it was simply a digital menu. We ordered a few things. For drinks we got the Lula's Blue Pisco (Pisco, blue curacao, coconut cream, agave, like and coconut rum) and a Peruvian Prince (Peruvian Pisco, passionfruit liquor, peach Schnapps, lime, bitters). Both drinks were strong but the Blue Pisco was skrong. We both liked the taste. We later ordered a Mi Amor (7 misterios Mezcal, muddled watermelon, passionfruit, lime). Also strong and I'm not a watermelon person, but it was hard to not enjoy it. For apps, we got the Totstones Achorados (green plantains, mussels, tomatoes, onions, cilantro) and the Chicharron de Atun (seasoned bluefin tuna crackling, fresh housemade guac, fried jalapeno, cambray onion). The Chicharron surprised me as I didn't think the little fish rounds would be such a tasty snack. And the guac was really creamy, not salty. The tostones were impressive. My man said that normally they would be very dry but these weren't. The toppings on them, while not bringing a strong flavor, were cool and refreshing. For entrees, we got the Pulpo A La Parrilla (grilled octopus, fried potatoes, salad) and the Arroz Chaufa with Steak (white rice, eggs, chopped onions, chopped bell peppers, ginger, and sesame oil). The latter is a Peruvian version of Chinese fried rice. This was delicious! The flavors were much stronger and bolder and he could only eat half of it at this point. The rest was taken home and tasted just as good 2 days later. The octopus was great. I didn't think that I would also be getting part of the head with my meal but I was fine with that. I saw some people complain about their octopus being too chewy but I honestly will eat it anyway. I love it. The Peruvian corn that topped it was so sweet and delicious. The side of remoulade I used for everything on my plate as it was a great dipping sauce. We were too full to get dessert and threw in the napkins. The ladies waiting on all of us were so kind and took great care of us. This is definitely a place we will be returning to.

We ordered the fried tuna bites with the guac for our app and it was honestly the best thing we had all night, our meals were blah my snapper was fried extremely hard and beat up (reference photos) the first time had to have them remake it, the second attempt came out looking better but was still overcooked, and the rice was under cooked but plantains were cool.
