I love it! It's hard to find genuine yummy Cuban food in Jacksonville. I'm from Tampa where we have a bunch of it and I grew up with my families dishes. This tasted exactly like it and it's so reasonably priced too. They are so nice and welcoming as well. The Cuban sandwich was perfect, they have a small and large size option. The ropa vieja tasted perfectly seasoned. And the ham croquettes reminded me of home perfect cafe con leche as well

I was very happy to have found this small "hole in the wall" eatery named 90 Miles from Cuba. Clearly, Jacksonville is not 90 miles from Cuba, but Key West is. Furthermore, hole in the wall eateries are often very good because they serve up good food that's a good value. 90 Miles from Cuba sits on Beach Blvd., one of those frisky 6 lane boulevards often seen in big Florida cities. In addition to using your phone's maps, one other thing that made me chuckle is that there is a stand selling Mexican food closer to the edge of the boulevard side of the parking lot while 90 Miles from Cuba is inboard. Since I've only been once, and would be glad to return, I try what might be my introductory dish in Cuban food - a ropa vieja platter. (I expand my horizons when I go back to Cuban places.) Along with the shredded flank steak, the platter had beans and plantains. I was skeptical to try plantains and yuca when I first saw them at a Cuban restaurant in NorCal, but, now, I like them very much. I really enjoyed the meal and the value. 90 Miles from Cuba doesn't feature table service. You order at the counter, pay for your meal, and then find a place to sit. You can see the food being prepared for you, right behind the counter. Once prepared, they will then bring it to your table. So, here's why I'm going with 5 stars. First, this is one very good "hole in the wall," of which the wall is an older strip mall. Second, the owners and employees are on hand and are very kind people. Lastly, Cuban folks - the real deal - are either eating here, coming in for a cafecito, or coming in to pick up food they've ordered. If they are giving 90 Miles from Cuba this nod in a big way, that's further proof that this is a great place.

Yes, a small place and not a lot of tables. Order at the register and they deliver to your table. I was there early enough and thought I'd order breakfast. Ended up with pork, black beans and rice and fried green plantains with a garlicky vinegar oil. Absolutely delicious. With a cafe Cubano. The place filled up quickly. Friendly people and a varied menu. If no room to sit, get it to go. It's that good. Will certainly return. This is in a small strip center towards the east end. Look for it!

Fantastic food, just like back home in Miami First place I've been to here in Jax that actually reminds me of home. The service was very friendly. Could have sworn I took a pic of my Lechon Asado But I'll for sure being going back so ill soon have plenty of pics

This small restaurant has the best and most consistent Cuban food in Jacksonville. The costumers service is always top notch. This place is a true hidden gem.

Was this my favorite Cuban in town, no. I like mine on the toastier side which I'll probably ask for the next time. But lemme tell you...the price was right and it was thicc. They did not skimp on the meats! So for that alone, I'll come back. Service was friendly and cafe con leche was on point.

Hubby was craving a Cuban sandwich and I'm always down to eat Cuban food, we found 90 Miles from Cuba on Yelp. I called and placed my pickup order. About 20 minutes later, we arrived. They are located in a rundown plaza on Beach Blvd, nothing fancy but don't let that stop you. The place is small, about 7 tables inside. They were fairly busy, all but one table occupied and several people picking up orders. Once back home, I plated our lunch. We each had a Cuban sandwich, 2 ham croquetas and half of a beef empanada. The Cuban was loaded with meat! The bread could have been pressed longer and it needed a bit more mayo/mustard. Overall, not the best Cuban sandwich I've had but still pretty good. The beef empanada was authentic, fried perfectly and tasted great. I really enjoyed the ham croquetas as well. Tasty and well seasoned. I would definitely come back to try a different sandwich and a café con leche.

If you're looking for excellent basic Cuban cuisine, this is a good local spot for you to try out. Don't let the older strip mall storefront fool you - this food was the next best thing to actually being in a cafe in Havana! We will be returning!

This unassuming restaurant is a fantastic place to visit for Cuban food. So far, on two separate occasions, I've tried the media Noche, tamal, ropa vieja and cafe con leche. Everything was delicious. I will return to try more menu items very soon. The ladies working here are so sweet. They're also open for breakfast. They close at 3pm. Stop by and comment on my remarks to let me know what you think.

A little hole in the wall my cousin found on google and I followed it up with confirming reviews on here. Pleasantly surprised with the service and quality of the food. It's in a shopping center, not in the best part of southside. Yes, looks sketchy but man, was it worth it. Not too much seating available and it's first come first serve. This was authentic Cuban food. Nothing disappointed, from the shredded beef platter, to the pork and tostones, to the cafe con leche and the juice. Betty who I think is the owner was so nice, she came over to talk to and welcome us. We spend $53 for 3 of us having full blown meals each and an appetizer with the drinks i mentioned, so not bad. The portions were hefty and I'm not mad. I'll certainly be back.

Ordered take away from here earlier this week and it was AMAZING. The Cubano Sandwich is the best [by far] that I've had in Jacksonville. 10 out of 10 would recommend. Tiny little shop in a strip mall off Beach Blvd. Please do yourself a favor and try this place. I can't wait to try the other menu items. Also great: service and portion size.

Perfect authentic Cuban place, service was so kind and friendly and the food was fabulous! The Cuban sandwiches were great, croquettes weren't the best I've had but still yummy. Definitely will return here
