I am 24 hours post-lip blush and here was my experience:…read more I got to Michelle's studio where I was warmly welcomed, had to fill out some standard paperwork prior to starting. We then went into the room where Michelle patiently showed me all the colors available, swatching each color on my skin. She then custom-made a pigment according to what I wanted! Michelle then drew out the shape of my lips, and I asked for her to go a little outside my lips as I desired a more fuller but still natural look. After approving the drawing, we got started! I was numbed for the procedure with a cream, which got reapplied a few times when it wore off. To be honest. it was not pain-free, think, tattoo-level pain, That being said, it was obviously bearable. Several hours after the procedure, I went right to work! BEFORE: I was unhappy with the uneven tone on my top and bottom lip, they were very gray and lacked pigment. I really wanted some color in my lips, but something that looked natural and pretty. I also didn't want any down time as I'm very busy. Several hours afterwards: My lips were tingly and pretty swollen, but I was not in pain. I could still drink (out of a straw) and eat in small bites. The color was very pretty but hadn't settled in yet. 1 Day AFTER: My lips feel a little tight and dry, but not painful. Michelle gave me two ointments for them which make them feel great! Today the color looks more true to the pigment we concocted and looks like it's truly settling in. I'm very happy with the shape of my lips and color! All in all, I am super happy with the results. I loved them as soon as she was done, but I love them even more a day later! I can't wait to see how they turn out as time goes on, as I understand it, the color fades as it's meant to be a "blush." Lastly, Michelle was an absolute doll, so nice and patient and warm! I recommend this procedure 100%!

Growing up I always had very sparse and light colored brows that required me to be self conscious and spend a lot of time in front of the mirror in the morning drawing in my brows with different types of brow products. Fast forward to today I have a baby and not a lot of time in the morning - I want to be able to wash my face and start the day and not waste any time on makeup! First I went in for a free consultation with Michelle. Her studio is located in Tenafly and has lots of free 2-3 hour parking on the street. Upon walking in the studio is beautiful - clean, luxurious and professional looking! I love the white and light gray color scheme she picked. I went into the room where she does the magic and laid down on the table where she mapped me and gave me an idea of how the final brow would look. After I was satisfied with the results I decided to book an appointment with her the following week. I showed up early and she was already in the studio setting up everything. I filled out some paper work and we got to business! The entire process took a few hours but was well worth it! She made sure to listen to my concerns and needs, never once rushed the session and was so easy to converse with! She started by mapping first, making sure the shape is perfect using rulers and pictures. Then she started numbing my skin. After 20 minutes she made the first pass. Then she applied numbing gel (which felt minty and refreshing) and started adding the pigment and more strokes to the brows. She even offered for me to choose what music I wanted to listen to (bonus!) I was beyond excited to do the final reveal which is where she cleans up the brows and wipes away any pigment and you get to see your new gorgeous brows! I've been coming to this place for a couple of years now and unfortunately today was my last time…read more I come on a monthly basis which is ample time for my brow hair to grow out. The tech (I unfortunately never learned her name, but the one who's not the owner) made my eyebrows thinner than usual. Which, to be honest, wasn't the problem- I don't have much hair to begin with so I fill them in daily. However, when I told her that they were a little thinner that I'd like, she was very quick to (aggressively) blame it on my eyebrows- apparently there was an empty spot that she needed to work around so she HAD to make them thinner. But girl, I knew how they looked before I came in and that definitely wasn't the case. You could clearly see the follicles in that "empty spot" that she JUST threaded. She then proceeded to tell me I need to stop coloring my eyebrows in because doing so makes my hair fall out. Wish I could say this was the first time this happened but I've given her so many chances because this is an honest business, y'know? No where in that conversation did she take responsibility for the mistake. Look, life happens and everybody makes mistakes. If she stepped up and just told me she accidentally over-threaded an area then it would have made the experience a LOT better.

Parking is somewhat difficult but that's to be expected in this area. However, the brow tinting was low quality. The staff member who did it put the tint all over my skin, and didn't do the full length of one of my brows. This meant my brow looked unnaturally thick but also short, since the front of my brow was not tinted. Then, when the staff member was removing the tint from my brows, she got some on my brow bone. I asked her to clean it up, but she said it would fade on its own. It did not. It peeled my skin and took off a few layers. If the tinting was done JUST over my eyebrow hair, it probably would have looked great. It faded within 4-5 days so I didn't have to deal with it for long, but I was surprised that a $30 tinting service (which included the waxing) faded so quickly. I did tell them that the service was not up to standard/the pictures on their pages. They apologized but said there was nothing they could do. Again, the waxing and staff are great! but the tinting is definitely a no from me.

There was some tiny left on my skin that looked patchy, so I scrubbed them when I got home. It should fade but I just feel like they shouldn't have been tinted so dark. I got these done ahead of time for a vacation, and I'm really glad I didn't get them closer to leaving. If you have lighter hair, I wouldn't recommend getting your brows tinted here.

Just a few things to keep in mind: 1) parking is a real pain.
