I've been to both the Red Hook location and Windsor Terrace. I've been to other places like Red Door, Pratima, and D'Mai and much prefer Brooklyn Herborium. The staff and facialists are welcoming and friendly at both locations. They make all their own masks, oils, sprays, etc. from natural ingredients; all of which they use in the facials. They spend time asking about your skincare routine and offer suggestions, but it's never pushy or salesy. I love the hot stones placed under your shoulder blades midway through the facial and the neck massage. My skin is always very grateful for this treatment. It's a lovely, no frills, local place that I hope stays around for a long time.

I had to just get an emergency prescription for steroid antibacterial eye drops at 10pm because my…read moreeyes are itchy, red and about to get infected. Worst experience ever going through this the night before my my brothers wedding. Purchased a Groupon for eyelash extensions and had the worst experience of my life. First off, I've been getting extensions done for the past 10 years. I've never had a place remove them bc they were so hideous. She had me lay down and didn't ask what type of lashes I'd like. When I inquired, she said she'd do dramatic since it was what I purchased. Found that compelling since all salons have either a natural, gorgeous or cat eye you can choose from. She didn't even mention curl type or length until I told her while laying there before she was about to start. The tech Eliana took 2 hours to complete the set and the application process was so uncomfortable and painful. In between, because I was tearing from the burn she gaslighted me by asking if I have teary eye problem and sensitive skin because it's red all over my eyes. As if it was MY problem. I can tell she was inexperienced bc when I opened my eyes, my lashes were glued to the bottom lashes so I couldn't open them fully. When she was detaching them, it was so painful so I pried my eyes open myself. When I looked in the mirror, I was completely shocked. It looked so unnatural and hideous. I wish I took a picture. She used very thin cluster lashes (the ones that have multiple lashes in one) all over my eyes and I looked absurd to the point where I had her remove them all. Most places use these in conjunction to single lashes. I've never had a place use about 10 cluster lashes to fill my entire lashes. Please Google cluster lashes and you'll see that it's an outdated technique and the worst type of extensions. During the removal process, it felt worst than being at the dentist. It was so painful and the removal solution burned my eyes and skin sooo much. She was very apologetic afterwards but this was seriously the biggest waste of my time (3 hours) and worst experience ever. My eyes are still burning and my skin and eyes are so red and irritated. She also left glue residue all over my eyes. I lost a ton of eyelashes which I've been growing for months. On my way out with swollen eyes, the owner asked what happened so I told her and she said that's how they do dramatic lashes. I didn't have the energy to say anymore so I left. Do not go for lash extensions unless that's the look you're going for and you want your eyes to burn. It felt like someone was torching my eyes. Here's a pic of all my lashes ripped off and my lids swollen and purple. So upsetting.
