I spent about 10 minutes walking in one direction and then had to turn around to make my appointment but in that 20 minutes, I fell in love with this place. The trail itself is really lovely. You can tell that it is very well maintained and not overgrown next to the path. The small bridges for pedestrians to walk over along the path are a nice touch as well. So much of the trail is shaded and this was a particularly cool day which made me excited to come back in the fall and see the leaves change. I saw two deer while I was there both somewhat close to the path and completely visible, and I passed a handful of other people, enjoying the trail that day, including a handful of leashed dogs which are allowed on the trail. The trail is six or 7 miles long so definitely plan for a long day if you plan to do the whole Lake, but there are two loops that you can do in a shorter amount of time or you can do what I did and park at one of the parking lots do a small walk and then turn around and go back.

One of the highlights is the new fully inclusive playground -- it's thoughtfully designed with ramps, wheelchair-accessible swings, and fun features for kids of all abilities, making it a great destination for families. Cyclists will appreciate the addition of air and tools for on-the-fly bike repairs, which makes stopping here even more convenient. I also love the recent trail improvements at 168th Street -- the updated sections make riding and walking around the park feel smoother and safer. Whether you're out for a spin, a stroll, or a family day, Lake Zorinsky is a must-visit outdoor escape in West Omaha!

Lots of mature trees and a walking path. Even a pool and a golf course! This is a great space for public events, such as an Earth Day celebration I recently attended. But also the beauty of the park itself will be discussed many times - don't worry. We wanted a short (but still beautiful) outdoor wedding in October, and realized that the City of Omaha actually rents out parks for events. And the gorgeous Elmwood Park Grotto was the first thing I thought of! Just a note, you can't reserve a park location more than a year out (so a year to the day out from our wedding date, we called and snapped it up). We reserved the grotto, and went to look at the space to be sure it could fit our large guest list. It was exactly the right size - we decided to rent some nice chairs to put in a little semicircle design in front of the fountain, and we had the wedding take place at the front of the semicircle at the center of the fountain. The fall foliage was in full bloom and made our special day so perfect. The gorgeous greenery of the park also made the most beautiful backdrop for our formal photos once the chairs had been cleared out! The only negative thing I would note if you decide to rent the grotto, is that they don't put up any signs or anything that it's closed/rented for a private event, so I would recommend doing that yourself and placing signs at each entrance. We almost had someone walk their dog through our wedding because we didn't do this. All in all, It was perfect for our needs. A gorgeous (and very affordable!) outdoor location with a fountain to wed in front of, some pretty steps so you can still "walk down the aisle" - and a huge space to fit our 100+ guests!

In the soccer game tonight at 8:50, which featured SunCo vs Sun Toppers, there was numerous missed calls on both teams and aggression towards players during and after the game. The buzzer sounded, indicating the end of regulation with a tied score of 6-6. Shortly after that, a player on Sun Toppers shot the ball and the SunCo goalkeeper let the ball go in because the game was over. Junior counted that shot as a goal and declared the Sun Toppers victors over SunCo. Players on SunCo tried to explain to Junior that the buzzer had sounded, so the players had stopped playing. The official rule says when the buzzer sounds, the game is over. This decision has me absolutely perplexed. Junior then was verbally aggressive to players on SunCo that were rightfully frustrated and expressed their concerns with his decision. In all of the previous games I spectated, I had never seen this ref before, and I had absolutely no complaints with any decision making. In all my years of playing and watching the beautiful game I have never been as flabbergasted and befuddled as I was after watching the game tonight.

I called in July 18th to make a reservation for a smash party. Booked it for 10 people just to be safe, so I paid the $321. However soon after I hung up the phone I was getting notifications and e-mails from my bank suspecting fraud. I check my account and I was charged the $321 FOUR TIMES. I immediately called back and spoke to the owner who said that something went wrong in her system and she would refund the extra charges. I saw them as pending returns so I assumed that since it was a Friday they would go through by Monday. Nope. They disappeared. For the past few weeks I have called, left a message on the website, and even spoke to the owner on the day of the party. She said she received my message and issued the refunds (again, I assume?). That was July 29th. I had my party, and it was a great time. But again. Almost $1,000 of my own money has been in the pockets of this business since 7/18. It's now 8/8. The fact that I have to continuously call/message and dispute transaction with my bank to get MY OWN MONEY BACK is so ridiculous.
