Fast forward to the first parent meeting and we are being told that it is now $2,500. Big jump. We also had to sit and listen to the coach bad mouth former players, parents and other coaches in the organization. He also tried to make the parents feel terrible when his disorganized schedule did not work for team outings. I did not like the way that this coach handled anything and did not want to find out what the season would be like. I made contact with the owner, Dan Tinnell and he made comment about how he knew they had an issue with this coach and that the team last year split off from him because of the disorganization. I also spoke with the general manager and another coach that took over for the disorganized coach. They also had nothing good to say about him. They tried to get us on another team, but we told them that we could not stand behind an organization that would allow a coach like that on their staff. When I asked for my $400 back, they denied me without really even addressing the problem that they have. The owner also tried to call me a liar about what he said to me about the coach. Said that we left the team in a lurch, when that is not true, they did not have a full team with our son playing. We were in their facility twice, once for a try out and the other for the awful parent meeting. Nothing was ordered for our child for uniforms, they just got free money. There are a lot of other organizations out there, I would take your money elsewhere.

I found Net Par to be a super fun activity that shows that there is so much more to love in the Capitol District. Net Par is very upscale in terms of design and layout - I could see it being a nice place to host an event with friends or family. They don't offer food, but you're allowed to order in from outside establishments or bring your own little snacks for your event or activity there. The golf simulator had something for everyone, like actual courses from around the world for the serious golfer, ones where you can just compete with your teammates to see who can hit the farthest, and fun games similar to Candy Crush that even kids would enjoy. You don't need to be an amazing golfer to enjoy Net Par. I definitely recommend it for your next date night, group hang out, or just to go play by yourself!

I called in July 18th to make a reservation for a smash party. Booked it for 10 people just to be safe, so I paid the $321. However soon after I hung up the phone I was getting notifications and e-mails from my bank suspecting fraud. I check my account and I was charged the $321 FOUR TIMES. I immediately called back and spoke to the owner who said that something went wrong in her system and she would refund the extra charges. I saw them as pending returns so I assumed that since it was a Friday they would go through by Monday. Nope. They disappeared. For the past few weeks I have called, left a message on the website, and even spoke to the owner on the day of the party. She said she received my message and issued the refunds (again, I assume?). That was July 29th. I had my party, and it was a great time. But again. Almost $1,000 of my own money has been in the pockets of this business since 7/18. It's now 8/8. I still have three charges of $321 on my bank account. So I basically paid for 30 people to have a smash party when I had FIVE. I've held off on writing a Yelp review because I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt but at this point I am over it. The fact that I have to continuously call/message and dispute transaction with my bank to get MY OWN MONEY BACK is so ridiculous. Hoping another smash room opens up in the area because I've given enough money to this business to last a lifetime.

2 Stars - Great facility and knowledgeable staff, but stick-and-puck experience is frustrating…read more Grover Ice is a really nice rink in many ways. The staff are extremely knowledgeable, which is a huge plus, especially if you're involved in hockey regularly. The facility itself is well designed, and the seating setup is much better than some other local rinks. You can go upstairs and watch the ice from above, which is actually very comfortable and makes it easy to follow what's happening without freezing like you sometimes do at other rinks. They also have food available and even serve alcohol, which adds to the overall experience for parents or spectators. The locker rooms are in much better condition than other local rinks as well. Unfortunately, the biggest issue is their stick-and-puck sessions. They allow coaches to come in and run drills with kids, which essentially takes up half the ice. On top of that, teams sometimes show up and start practicing, which ends up taking over another portion of the rink. They will place an extra net in the middle, but realistically it becomes very difficult to find space to just skate and work on your own skills. Considering what you pay for ice time, it's frustrating when the session turns into a partial team practice instead of open ice. Even more disappointing is that when this concern has been brought up, it doesn't seem like management is particularly interested in addressing it. Grover Ice has a lot going for it as a facility, but the way stick-and-puck is managed makes it hard to justify going if you're hoping for a fair chance to actually skate and practice.

4 Stars - Great facility, but scheduling and supervision need improvement…read moreThe Moylan Iceplex is a really nice facility overall. Having two rinks makes it easy for them to host a wide variety of activities, and there's almost always something going on. Between public skating, club hockey, adult ("old man") leagues, stick-and-puck sessions, and other events, it's a very active place for the hockey community. The staff have always been friendly in my experience, which makes a big difference. The facility itself is well set up, with places to eat and even a small arcade area, which is great if you're bringing kids or family members who aren't skating. Prices for skating sessions and activities are also pretty reasonable compared to many rinks. My main frustration is the scheduling. The posted schedules sometimes change without notice, which can be really frustrating when you drive there expecting ice time and find out it was changed or canceled. The other concern is supervision. During public skating especially, there often appears to be little or no monitoring on the ice. With a lot of kids skating at once, things can get chaotic and occasionally dangerous. Overall it's a great facility with a lot going for it, but better schedule management and more active supervision would make a big difference.
