El paso not a great bike friendly town. But with that said i came into town on vacation (my hometown) but i quickly found the bicycle shops and bicycle friendly businesses are few and far between. But i dod find this place and they had a few things i was looking for. read more

Love this place. Thought they would be expensive but they're not. I took my sons bike here twice and they were nothing but nice. They took care of me on the spot and I walked out a happy customer. I went and got thicker inner tubes and a new kick stand for his bike and I have had to go back for either items. The inner tube is great for El Paso. My son rides his bike to and from school everyday and them sticker things get stuck but never deflate the tire. read more

Went in on Sunday, it was my second time in the shop, with the intent of finding out how to make my ride less harsh on my behind. Was greeted by a friendly young woman who asked how she could help. Gave her my situation and she suggested riding shorts. Tried multiple pairs and found a pair that she said should help with my situation. She said if it didn't then to come back with my bike so they can look to see what adjustments can be made. I said my bike is in my car, she said bring it in. She leveled the saddle for me and said the combination of the padded shorts and saddle positioning should be a noticeable improvement. We will see as I've yet to ride. For logging riding data, she had a few GPS systems there, what I liked was that she didn't immediately try to sway me towards the most expensive unit. She took a particular Garmin out and gave me the run down of features and how to mount it to the bike. I also left with a GPS unit. Store is clean and they stock nice bikes. I asked her if it would be worth going with a full suspension versus a hard tail and she said for over the road riding, it would not be worth it. I was prepared to spend money on a new bike there yet they saved me money, money they could've made. Now they will make my money through service and accessories. Finding a business honest in how the customer should spend their money is hard. A lesser shop would've just sold me another bike. Edited to add on 5 September 2016: Was still experiencing sit bone pain. Went back to the shop to get a different size stem to experiment with. Same young lady helped me and said, "why not do a fitting instead of throwing parts at it?" Scheduled a bike fitting and she ended up making some adjustments that have worked very well so far. Did not end up purchasing a new saddle, as you know they can get very expensive. Looking back at it, a fitting is what I should've had done years ago. Money well spent. Edited to add on 20 September 2016: Called the shop yesterday shortly after they opened to ask about a trailer to tow my kid on when I ride. Josh answered and gave me a few options, I told him my ideal budget and he said they could order a Burley for me. Told him I would speak to my wife about it to confirm, he said he'd be there so stop by if I decide to go forward with it. Decided to leave work early (don't tell my boss) and go order the trailer. Was met at Paula by the door and told her the conversation I had with Josh earlier in the day. Trailer was ordered and should be here next week. Called today to schedule a bike fitting for my wife with Jasmine. We will get her fitting done tomorrow. Even though I live on the west side by Franklin HS, I drive out to Atom Cyclist for my biking needs. They're on pace to open a store on the west side in early 2017 on Resler between Helen of Troy and Paseo del Norte. We will have moved from El Paso by then but that shop is going to be a hit. For now, there's only one shop on the far west side in Crazy Cats and I see Atom Cyclist putting a hurt into their monopoly on the far west side. Edited to add on 21 September 2016: The trailer they ordered for me on Monday arrived today. I received the e-mail and by the time I got to the shop a couple hours later, it was assembled and waiting for me. They showed me how to attach it and break the trailer down to put in the car. Couldn't be more pleased. My wife got fitted for her bike today, she said it's much improved, well worth the time and money spent on a fitting. What a great shop. read more

While riding in the hills around El Paso I ran into another rider who spoke of this shop. So, I stopped by later in the day to buy another tube for my road bike. It's a clean shop. I like how ti's set up and they primarily seam to carry Trek's, Orbeas, and Fishers. I got into a good conversation with Rebecca at the front counter about the Tour of CA. If you are in the area go check 'em out. I can't vouch for the maintenance or repair arena, but I doubt a shop this nice doesn't also provide great service and tune ups. read more

Came in to buy a mountain bike on different occasions. Each visit, I was greeted by one of the many gentlemen working there. Through my vigorous questioning and skepticism, any employee that I spoke to have me a straightforward and honest answer. I was able to test out different frame sizes out back in the small lot behind the store. Which was nice, being able to test drive a bike before purchase. After a couple visits, I finally gave in and bought one. I bought this bike on a Monday (8/4) afternoon and popped both tires while out trailing on Wednesday (8/6) evening. I called Atom cycling at 7:50 (10 minutes before their close time) and begged if they could fix both my tires. Much to my surprise, they did. I brought my bike in and the gentleman said they could fix my bike but it wouldn't be ready until the next day. If I didn't need my bike for work I would have left it there, but instead I took the parts I needed home to fix it. As luck would have it, I did not have the proper pump for the tube I needed for both my tires. So I took my tires back in on Thursday (8/7) and asked if they could fix it for me. Not only did they explain what the problem was, but they fixed my tires in less than 8 minutes. During my visit, a young lady with her two children came in. She had a flat tire on her stroller and asked if they had a tire they could repair it with. And you know what? They did! Not only did they have the tire she needed on hand, but they said they could fix it immediately for her. I was impressed. Overall: The employees are knowledgeable and extremely nice. The store is kept clean. The customer service is incredible! I hands down recommend Atom cyclist for any bike/ tire purchase. read more

I was in a pinch - traveling through El Paso; got my bike out and decided to ride down some city streets - ran into some debris and punctured a tire. As it turns out, I left my tool kit at home, so I was going to end up having the rest of the trip with that flat tire. I found this place, but it was less than two hours to closing time - so I hotfooted over there, and they were able to repair it within 45 minutes - tremendous friendly service and great store. read more

In the days of shopping for everything online, there are few places that really need a brick and mortar store. A bike shop is one of those places and I've been to all of them in El Paso several times over the last month. Atom cyclist is the best as far as customer service goes. They know their stuff and are very willing to spend as much time as you need when selecting a bike or accessories. Prices are high, but reflected in the quality. You're coming to Atom mainly for their Trek bikes as they are the only outfit in El Paso. The place stays busy and they said they are opening up another location on the west side, I really hope the new store is larger as their current one is way too cramped. I could not for the life of me get my flat tires off of the rims of my bike and these guys were quick to assist and give me advice on what to buy to prevent frequent flats. A great bike shop is hard to come by these days. Atom Cyclist consistently offers great customer service and top notch bike service. I have been taking my rig there since 2010 when I moved back to El Paso. Any issues I've ever had (which have all been minor) have always been handled right then and there. Been here about three times. They are a more high end shop and do great work. The shop is clean and the workers are nice. They cost more then some places, so if your riding a huffy don't take it here. But higher end bike owners will like it. read more

The team at Atom is excellent. I'm road tripping through the US, and my bike needed work. I called ahead, and over the phone (!) they narrowed down the correct replacement bottom bracket for my bike. They had it shipped to the store and held it until I arrived a week later. They installed that and other parts I supplied, and did a total tune-up with an incredible turn-around time. The team is highly courteous and patient. They listened to my ramblings about the bike and politely answered all questions, some about the bike, some about what to do in EP. This is my favorite bike shop. I highly recommend it. read more

Great staff! I took my bike in to get something small fixed and they literally worked on it as soon as I got there and he only took five minutes to get it fixed. As I was going to the cashier he told me it was fine I didn't have to pay since it wasn't a big thing. There are not many people like this anymore I was very happy with the service and now I can ride my bike everyday! read more

This shop is very close to my home so I stop there several times per month.... they have lots of bikes in stock .. well actually everything you might need for your bike is there.... what I like the most is the open view of the maintenance area, since I like to mess around with my bike I can watch the mechanics work on the bikes so every time I go I learn a little bit more about bike maintenance..... read more

Stopped in on a Friday afternoon to get a thorn proof inner tube put on my mountain bike. I was told it would take 1 hour. Before I could get back home (about 15 minutes) I got a call that it was ready. The service was excellent and the price was fair. read more

I went to have my bike serviced; it was just for a simple break line change. The employees seemed more interested in talking to each other and playing then actually working, but it's the only bike shop on the eastside, When I finally got to tell the "hard working" employees what was wrong they said "that's easy come by tomorrow and we will have it done". So I came in the next day and it was not done then they said "we will have it done tomorrow, (Sunday) and sorry by the way". After that I said I will just come back Monday, and when that day came, I dropped by and it still was not done, we are talking about a simple break line now. I went to the target next door to have lunch came back in an hour and half only to find my bike was still was not done. All I got was a lot of attitude and the guys saying my 23inch frame was not a real 23inch frame, I guess he had time to check that out and not fix the bike that came out to be $50.00 for a break line and lube and the lube I did not want either. read more

In my opinion, my visit to the Atom Cyclist was not a first great experience. I enter the store and am greeted by I am told Guillermo the store manager. As I walk around the counter to be the next in line to ask some questions about the type of service I need done on my bike; After the customer ahead of me, I am skipped over to another customer a crossed the counter who had just walked up. Apparently he was recognized by Guillermo and given serves prior to me being next. Guillermo not only attends to the gentleman first (who apparently is a doctor or someone with a high degree), but he carries a personal conversation. All about Guillermo wife going to nursing school and is looking to going further into becoming a NPR. The customer realize I am still waiting patiently. He tries to be polite and gives me an apology for making me wait. The customer reaches his hand to Guillermo and says good luck to your wife and tells him to keep in couriering her to pursue her dreams. Yet, Guillermo never apologize to me and tries to continue his conversation with the gentleman. The gentleman walks out of the store. When I walk out, the gentleman is outside and again politely apologize to me. The service by the other "ATOM CYCLIST" workers was MUCH more professional. I didn't have to deal with Guillermo any more. I kept my calm the whole time, because to me arising my temper, would only cause me health problems. I'm more than sure, the customer realize what Guillermo unprofessional manners towards me. Actions speak for themselves.... read more

While I did like the work they did on my bike I would not go back there again. The people that work at the shop are very snoby and don't seem to be needing any new customers. I was treated very rudly because they found out i had recently gone to crazy cat cyclery for some repairs. They were quick to sell me an item but when it didn't work properly they refused to return it or even exchange it. Also the selection is very poor and for being rather upscale they only carry trek. read more
