It really is such a gem tucked away in the city in a very humble and simple outdoor shopping center, but certainly worth stopping by :) ! I had Googled the best souvenir shops close to my hotel and "So El Paso" popped up on my search ! I am so glad I stopped by here because they truly have some of the most thoughtful and meaningful gifts you can give anyone, whether you are a local to the area :) ! Or whether you're like me - a tourist who wants to bring back something thoughtful and meaningful to family and friends back home in CA :) ! I specifically wanted quality souvenirs that are really unique to the area or region :D ! I met the owner and also one of her employees :) ! Both of them were really friendly and warm ! The owner told me that she is originally from El Paso, but had lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for about 20 years before coming back to El Paso :) ! If I had heard correctly, I believe her employee told me that this store has been open since 2020. I purchased some Mexican candied cocoa pecans, some churro cookies, and some margarita powder mixes :D ! I purchased some Mexican spice cocoa pecans, some churro cookies, and some margarita powder mixes :D ! So far, I have only tasted the Mexican spice cocoa pecans, which are delicious :) ! I haven't tried the churro cookies and the margarita mixes yet :) ! But I plan to gift some of these to family and friends :) ! They also have nice holiday gift sets that are beautifully wrapped and ready to gift :D ! When I was shopping there yesterday, there was a customer there who seemed to be ordering in bulk for a group of people :) ! She was carefully choosing items to purchase as she was conversing with the owner :) ! So for sure, these are wonderful items you can gift to individuals or huge groups :D ! I wll definitely be back the next time I visit the west side in El Paso :) ! The owner and her employee really go the extra mile to take care of you and your needs :D !

I happened to visit during one of the El Paso March month mega windy days, I was surprised to enter the gift shop and meet the most pleasant gift shop staff member. She was bilingual and was very knowledgeable. Surprisingly (after living in the El Paso area for over 4 years) I had never been to that area of town. I didn't know there was a Casino nor a church, gift shops etc. The staff member explained Ysleta Mission is the oldest Mission in the state of Texas. Founded in 1682. That specific piece of information grew my interest for the area because I love history and now I feel silly all this years I didn't know about it. The Yelp Elite Perk consisted of cool Yelp goodies and a beautifully hand painted wood box. The attention to detail to the hand painted box filled me with joy. I fell in love with Ysleta Mission Gift Shop. Everything in the gift shop is absolutely beautiful. The cool thing is that they have a website ( www.ysletamissiongiftshop.com/ ) you can order their unique gifts and get them anywhere in the US. I have so many more things to say about Ysleta Mission but this is only a review and not a book, but trying to make a point here we go... Their paintings are beautiful and affordable. They sell the neatest ornaments and masks. They also have holy water available and they sell cute glass bottles to keep your holy water. They sell jewelry, rosaries, crosses, jewelry boxes, paintings, etc. I am so happy to have the opportunity for this Yelp Perk because I visited a place I would have never visited and loved it. If you need a beautiful unique gift this is the place go.

Local art, pretty unique jewelry (necklaces, rings, earrings) and headbands/tiaras. Funny taxidermy and preserved butterflies were there as well. An eclectic type of store and the shop owner lets you browse around in peace. Welcoming and not pushy on sales at all. We ended up buying sage and they have all sorts of fresh apothecary things (Palo santo etc.) If you're curious take a step inside and check it out you may find a treasure you just HAVE to take home! I will def. be back!

There's two kinds of people in the world, the squeamish and the one's pretending not to be squeamish (because come on, we are all afraid of something). I find myself in the openly squeamish group. But I still rather enjoy DT and the occasional goosebumps it gives me. I've been a few times now and I always find myself drawn to the preserved animals. From talking to the owner I know that these animals were not harmed or purposefully endangered in any way, DT just creates art, if you will, from natural death. They do give me the creeps and the worn dolls that adorn the bureau give it that added element of stomach, turning fear (thank you Child's Play and Tales From The Hood). There are also less creepy, but equally intriguing items at DT like shirts with EP inspired themes, purses, handmade jewelry (I picked up a sweet heart with nails and barbed wire necklace last time I was here), cat trinkets, and paintings. Explore and see what cool items you find. Along with the lively owner, you can seek help from her wonderful minions or the guy in the back that isn't very helpful and a bit of a snake. I prefer the minions who will hand you things and make you deeply consider adding it to your home decorations. I'd say the minion's are very animated even though their vocabulary is only that of a three or four year old, but they drive a hard sell and will help you look for anything. Not sure how many days of the week the minions work, but the snake is there all the time so you may just have to deal with him.
