They did a good job and helped me with my gait analysis. They also let me try it on the treadmill. Also I felt like it was a normal price range and you even get to try a bunch of different shoes. Nice selection as well. read more

Great shoe selection! Great friendly and helpful staff. Good sales prices! My wife loves her shoes!

Personalized service and great products. Perhaps prices are higher than what you get on line, but you get choices, trying on multiple shows and brands. read more

It had been several years since I had last bought a good pair of running shoes, and now my Brooks were showing signs of excessive wear. I was happy with their feel and fit, but decided to do some research on what was new and recommended. On the "www", I discovered a shoe made by "Hoka One One" called the "Gaviota 2" that was getting rave reviews for its design, excellent stability, and great cushioning. I went to their home page and was about to order it, when a "pop-up" indicated that 40 miles away "Up and Running" was a certified Hoka One One dealer. I decided to drive down to El Paso and check this store out. Upon arriving I was greeted by a friendly employee who asked me if I needed help. I told him exactly what I was looking for upon which he directed me to the exact shoe I was wanting to look at. I tried on a pair and found them to be surprisingly lightweight. Walking around the store confirmed the reviews about their stability and cushioning - I was sold. Check out was easy and quick. I also learned that these shoes were a hot item and that they had just received a new shipment only 20 minutes prior to my arrival. Prior to this shipment, they were out of my size so I was lucky to have arrived when I did. The owner told me about their "Rewards Program" whereby after every $250 in purchases, one receives a $25 gift certificate/voucher good for anything in their store. Just need your name and phone number. Sign me up! In addition to Hoka One One's they also carry Asics and other top of the line shoes. This is a great store! Check them out - you're sure to find a shoe you'll love. Finally, the moral of this story is, go to the "www" to do your research, but in the end support local businesses :) ! read more

This place is my jam! As an avid runner with flat feet, i am always requiring the latest and greatest for the dogs. This place offers so much great options for us flat feet folks and they are always very knowledgable when it comes to any questions i have. The best part about this place is how they are military friendly AND offer discounts to the public via Groupon. From what i remember, there would be a great discount off first time buyers for shoes. Not every running store offers that! Especially one that specializes with podiatry services. I discovered my favorite running shoes brand, Hoka. Them shoes are nothing short of magical for feet! I also heard how theyre the most beneficial for your health for long term runners and cross country coaches would tell their trainees to purchase only this. Its amazing because for the longest time, i would always have to buy expensive running shoes PLUS expensive flat feet inserts. Were talking over 200$ a pair. But with Hokas, they already have the necessary arch for my everyday running. Im sure there are other brands with this technology but these Hokas feel like pillows on my feet. I can run all day everyday! Thanks for all your help for this discovery Up & Running! read more

I must say this shop is the perfect store for runners. Great staff, great products, and outstanding customer service. Looking forward to buying more shoes and accessories from you guys. read more

I was in need of some good athletic shoes after buying two pairs online and returning them because the sizing wasn't right. I decided to go to this store where they could look at my gait and my feet, and advise me on what to buy. I got a really nice pair of shoes, and also custom orthotics. Brian and Rainey were both very knowledgeable and helpful. I have several physical problems, and Brian recommended custom insoles. Henry, the orthotic specialist, was amazing. He really took a lot of time with me and it was an eye opener as to what was causing me trouble. He knows his stuff! I think that for the first time I have shoes that fit me correctly. It really makes a difference in my daily walks. read more

I purchased two pairs of shoes from this store which costed over 300.00 they were so ready to recommend the shoes and tell me they would be a perfect fit for me which clearly was a horrible recommendation. I wore the hokas , three times. The third time I WALKED album park with my hokas- three times around the park and I got a blister , the bottom of my feet hurt really bad and I called and spoke with a Patrick who was very helpful and understanding... due to my line of work - being very busy, living on the other side of town and then traveling for couple weeks in December I was not able to come in and exchange the shoes fast enough or see what they could do for me- . I went in today because I finally had time- I was told nothing could be done- they have a store policy and the gentleman was very rude - I told him he doesn't need to get upset and I was just asking what could be done since these shoes are over 150.00 .. I do not have the box unfortunately and Patrick knew that as well. Now I'm stuck with a pair of horrible 150.00 shoes - I will not be returning to this store or giving them my business. The gentleman with the beard was rude and not understanding at all'. Not sure if he's the owner or manager but it's unfortunate people can't be understanding regardless of policy'- there's always a way- they could have helped me since I already spent over 300.00 at this store . read more

My favorite running store ever! Every time I'm back in town, I stop by. I used to get all of my running shoes and supplies here. Chris, the owner, and his staff are very knowledgeable on running gear and they take their time with you to figure out what will work best for you. I never had a running shoe fit better or feel so comfortable. There's a treadmill in the store you can run on to try out your shoes, or you can run along the sidewalk outside to get a feel for them too. Also, on Tuesday nights, at 6pm, there's a group run. People of all running abilities are welcome. I trained for my first half marathon here with their Transmountain Challenge training group. I met lifelong friends in this training group and had such a blast. I could barely run a 5K before I started. There were group runs on Tuesday evenings and Sunday mornings. The training group was affordable and there were a bunch of perks (tshirts, socks, randoms freebies, training plan, coaching, refreshments, and moral support). Also, on Tuesdays, the store would have several cookouts throughout the year, giveaways, and demo runs (where you can test out certain brands of shoes on a real run) for those that came to run. I love this store and will continue to come back and shop/run every time I'm in town! read more

Up & Running is pretty awesome. If you need anything running related, you better believe they have you covered. And not just that, they are really intertwined in the running community in El Paso and it's super rare for them to not play some part in the competitive runs here. U&R has a large shoe selection. I'm not sure how they select the brands they carry, but they have a lot of the ones I'm familiar with. The clothing selection is small and a little pricey, but it may be better quality than what I typically buy so it might be justified. If you go at the right time, you might see some brown bags on the tables outside... those are $5-$10 and usually have a shirt in them from what I'm told. We go here a lot for gels and energy jelly beans. Both are at good prices. There are a lot of packet pick-ups done here so if you try to go too late you may see a large crowd. One really cool thing they do is displaying the t-shirts from previous races... just look up! U&R might not be the cheapest place, but it is definitely a one-stop-shop. The staff is great, all really informed about their products (and if they don't know the answer, they'll find out for you). Good place to shop for the experienced or inexperienced runner. read more

Today was my first time walking into a specialty running store. Even after several races (5K-1/2Marathon) under my belt, I'm not fully comfortable calling myself a "runner".. I'm really no expert in terms of training methods, running shoes, running food, all that fancy stuff. I walked in there no knowing what I wanted or what to expect. I was immediately greeted with a smile and was give personal assistance throughout my decision making process. This is probably the biggest difference from going to a big box store or a general shoe store; they've seen all sorts of craziness and have experience with all kinds of runners. The staff went to work by watching my feet as I walked across the store in my socks, and examined my current (old) Asics to find a comparable shoe in the store. In the end, it was a close call between purchasing Brooks (foam support), and another pair of Asics (Gel support). I decided to purchase another pair of Asics... sticking to what I know and the shallow reason of the color combo. The staff who was helping me gladly answered my questions about taking supplements for joint pain etc. The whole time I was in Up & Running, I felt like I was in good hands. Next time, I'll be back to browse the other room filled with running gear, clothing, etc. read more

Up & running really does get you up and running! This place is great for the avid runner and the beginner. The staff is super friendly and always willing to help you out. Everyone is pretty much an experience runner so they know the in's and out's of what you want to look for in a shoe. U&R has probably the best selection of elite running shoes at a pretty decent price. Yeah you could probably find running shoes at a lower cost at the mall but then you miss out on the expertise of the runners analyzing your gait and body mechanics. This really helps out on getting the right fit for your foot. And when it comes to exercising, your health is everything because one injury and your left waiting for your friends at the finish line while they get out and run. The store has a really cool runners environment to it and I hadn't noticed before but I did this time, they got old running event shirts up on the ceiling! It makes for an entertaining spectacle while shopping around. Plus, they always got some kind of deal going on! Clearance item socks, "warehouse cleaning" shoe clearance, or end of season clothing. You name it! Plus they got gear for tri's and Zoot suits for the swim. Oh, and ever wonder where you can scoop up a brag sticker? Well this place has em all! Stop by, or better yet run on by! read more

Up & Running - Hoka One One - Outdoor Gear Near Me - El Paso, Texas

We can not say enough wonderful things about Up & Running! They have gone above and beyond to help us out. It started with the wonderful customer service when we were trying to get my 80yr old mother new shoes that would accommodate her orthotics. They had a record of previous shoes she's ordered and were able to order them right away. They contacted us when the shoes came in and because my mom is high risk and isolating during Covid quarantine, they delivered the shoes themselves! Unheard of right?! But wait - there's more! Due to shoe style update, we ended up having to return the shoe for one they recommended. AND they delivered the new shoes & picked up the others! George & Brian have been AMAZING and add a personal touch that you can not find anywhere online. I would highly encourage anyone to support this local business as they are a CUT WAY ABOVE the rest! read more

Service above an beyond the call. They actually appreciate your business and act accordingly. Sure you can buy online but why would you when you can go to Up and Running and see, feel and try them before you buy? Great store! read more

If your e looking for wide shoes don't waste your time

I've now bought three sets of running shoes here over the last year or so and I've been happy with each purchase. They offer some higher priced, but excellent quality merchandise for runners (they might offer bicyclist stuff too but I wasn't looking). The staff is very helpful and quick to assist. They take old shoes that you can donate by just dropping in a box by the door. They also offer points with each purchase (after three purchases, I now have a $25 credit towards my next purchase). Best part is, they offer military discount. I think they host a running club once a week as well but I haven't partaken. Worth checking out if you need new quality gear. read more

Up and Running is a great local running store with locations on the East and West sides of El Paso. I have only been into the store on the West side. It is very well stocked with shoes, clothes and running gear and the staff are very helpful and friendly. If you sign up for their email list, they will send you information and coupons. I pretty much know what shoes I am going to buy when I walk in, but watched them help a friend choose shoes, and they seem to know what they were doing to recommend an appropriate model for her gait, etc. They will let you try a short run on the treadmill or sidewalk outside to test the shoes. Finally, if you are a local runner, I recommend their Tuesday evening runs from the West side store at 6pm. Distances are usually around 3-6 miles, with an option to split off halfway for a shorter vs longer run. The group will periodically stop for the slower runners to catch up with the faster ones. They also do fun things after some of the runs, like wine tasting and a chocolate fountain for Valentine's day. read more

I was having trouble with my feet. Fallen arches. Bought a pair of Oophos for leisure dress and had prosthetics made for new pair of tennis shoes. After a short time the strap on the Oophos peeled. I was so disappointed. My niece had experienced the same problem and months later came over wearing her new pair. I told her about mine. She explained that she had walked in and told them about her problem and they told her just get a new pair. She was very happy. So I thought well these are older than the ones she had and I don't remember the exact date I bought them. So today I walk into the store and showed them to the young man there and he says oh yes we've had trouble with these peeling just pick out another pair! I could not believe the service from this place. I will certainly be telling my friends and family. Thank you so much for being so accommodating to your customers. I really appreciate it.!!!!!! read more

Chris the owner took time out to help me try on a few shoes and even let me run outside with a few pair as he gave an honest assesment of my run style. It sure did help and my knees now feel great. They also organize a few local races which are always polished and in order. It almost feels like you are visiting another city with their groovy t-shirt ceiling layout. Tops in service and the folks are always open to helping. read more

Professional staff and took care of my running needs with ease. I will definitely be shopping here again!

I looked all over El Paso for New Balance Minimus sneakers when I arrived in El Paso and no stores sold them. I was happy to finally find Up and Running. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, the prices are reasonable, and they price match. They are my go to store for sneakers and now for amazing socks as well. I highly recommend this store and this team. read more
