I recently purchased a pair of boots from Cowtown Boots, and I'm very disappointed with the quality and customer service. After only a short period of use, the heel started coming off and the boot itself began to come apart, which is not what I would expect from a new pair of boots. When I brought the issue to the store's attention, I was told that this was "normal" and the only solution offered was to hammer a nail back into the heel. I did not feel that this addressed the underlying problem or reflected acceptable quality for the product. The selection of boots is broad. Many of the western style brands including Dan Post are made in Mexico rather than Texas. This factor keeps some of the prices to reasonable range. Many all leather boots, ostrich, gator and suede materials to choose from. If you buy a pair of boots you will receive 25% off a new belt or other merchandise. I selected a pair of Dan Post brand, leather upper, leather sole, made in Mexico boots with a snip toe, nice stitching and cut out designs. The boots feature pull straps making them easy to get into, cushioned insoles and two tone brown leather. I am looking forward to wearing them. The Stetson hat selection was mostly men so I could not find a new lady hat to go along with my new boots. Staff was helpful bringing me boots to try on and putting them away. read more

I don't live in El Paso, but my wife won a certificate from her employer (Southwest Airlines) for a pair of ropers from Cowtown Boots. Here's the catch: She won the certificate 25 years ago and we just came across it a year ago in a box of old photos. I scanned the certificate and emailed it to the store's email alias. I received a reply, "yes, that is from us. I haven't see that name in a while, he hasn't worked here in years, but we will honor it". Well work does take me to El Paso periodically and I went in recently to redeem the certificate and they couldn't have been more accommodating. This is a family owned business and they run it as such. I would recommend this place. Lot of selection and doing business like very few! read more

Abraham worked with my husband, Glenn, and me to find the perfect style and size for the gator hide boots we ordered. (The Mr. killed the gator, and brought the cured hide in.) Abraham's knowledge and skill of hides is very in-depth. He showed us around the shop, which was amazing in its own right... but above that, Abraham ensured the best fit and style for us individually. We tried on a few different toe-styles and wound up with a perfect fit for both of us. (If it doesn't fit up front, it won't). If you're wanting a custom boot, especially using your own hide, as well as Old Gringo and Corral original-type styles, let Abraham do the job for you. Impressive, and impeccable fit. You have to see the Cowtown store in its own right for great cowgirl/boy regular, oilfield, Carhartt, etc., items, but Abraham will be my go-to going forward for any custom boots I want! read more

This store shows they have boots and offers next day shipping. We needed a boot for work within the next few days and were glad they had what we wanted. However, they called the next day saying they don't have it in stock and that they had to order it from the manufacturer who doesn't offer fast shipping and it would take at least 10 business days. When we asked if they had any other boot in the style/size we wanted, the manager only said to check online for what we wanted. Obviously we weren't going to do that again because we thought they had the original boot in the first place. The manager said the San Antonio store had the boot we wanted but wouldn't ship it from there, only from the manufacturer with slow shipping. This is not the customer service we expect. Unfortunately for them, there are tons of boot stores in El Paso and we will be continually buying boots in the future. They lost a lot of business. read more

If u r just trying on some boots and none of them feel comfortable, the guy at the countertop says the boots will fit, that they get softer after wearing them. So i have to squeeze my feet into the boots of my choice for God knows how long before they feel comfortable?! What kind of magical boots are these?! One star. I love Cowtown Boots!!!! The customer service was impeccable the young ladies at the front were an amazing team and the sales reps were completely knowledgeable on the boots and how they fit and even where they come from. The Factory is located right next door - when I tried to purchase my husband some boots for our anniversary they were out of his size and they ran next door to get the correct size for him. I was truly happy with the diversity in the store, the sales associates were bilingual. There were some unhappy customers about an older product and the manager was able to assist them in a timely manner and they left happy. read more
