It doesn't matter if you're a collector or you're just taking your kid toy shopping. You'll have fun looking at everything and you're guaranteed to spit something from your childhood. There are also these life size dummies, if you will. The ones that give me the most heebie-geebies are the Hannibal Lector and Michael Meyers. Shivers. I guess it's just because both wear a mask of sorts so if the store really wanted to play a practical joke they could replace the dummies with actual people. The also have a Governor's daughter from the Walking Dead which is pretty cool. Definitely an awesome shop. If you have some time to spare this should definitely be a stop for you.

They also sell prints and paintings by local artists. What's even better is that it's a local business (well how could it not be?)! Every time I've gone, the employees are super friendly and helpful. I always end up talking and talking with them. Another thing I like about Chuco Relic is that they help the community often. I should say they also try to help people in our state! Back when Hurricane Harvey happened in Houston, they raised money for them by selling merchandise. I recently purchased an El Paso Strong t-shirt from them for $10. I pre-ordered it so it came out to $10 less. I'm always excited to help local businesses succeed, especially when they help others here and around Texas. If you're looking for an El Paso-inspired gift, this is a good place to go.

I've seen the shop a couple of times when going to Dollar Tree or Michaels. Unfortunately, they were always closed! If you sort of want to relive the 80's and 90's (maybe even further back), you need to visit Air Chuco. I say some of the best music came from these two decades. Not all but quite a bit imo. Air Chuco sells vintage concert t-shirts, jerseys, jackets, toys, pins, shoes and more. Remember those Starter jackets from the early 90s? Air Chuco has them! I was almost tempted to buy a Dallas Cowboys one but I didn't. They also have old school UTEP and NMSU gear! There's a black hoodie of Tupac, Biggie Smalls and Eazy E that I really want! I hope they'll still have it when I go back. They had a New Kids on the Block t- shirt! Lol. No comment on that. The t-shirts start at $5 and up. I got to meet the owner and he was really cool and down to earth. He said they've been around for about five months now. Him and other vintage shops get together at Good Times Bar on Cincinnati to sell their items every first Saturday of the month. It's kind of like a vintage swap meet if you will. I'd like to check it out. Air Chuco is fun and I'll be visiting again soon. I want that hoodie SO bad! Another cool thing...The owner plays music on a record player! When do you ever see that? Tooth & Veil isn't your typical Walgreens or Target, you know, a normal and ordinary store. They offer lots of spooky attire, goodies, herbs and more. The owner (Michelle) is a believer of using natural herbs and desert plants to heal the body. If you're from El Paso or the area, you probably know what I'm talking about. I'll give you some examples. When I was a kid, my mom grew yerba buena (mint) in our front yard. She would boil it to make a warm tea for a stomach ache. My grandma often made me cinnamon tea to cure cramps. My family also uses aloe vera to help cure/heal a burn. You cut one of the branches in half. You rub the clear and gooey substance from inside on your burn/cut. It's really soothing. It also works great for a sunburn, especially the type of burn where your skin is peeling. Michelle also carries a variety of teas and even taxidermy items. Their taxidermy products are quite popular with her clients. I saw a rattlesnake, some kind of rodent and even a crocodile head. Michelle's husband told me they've encountered some friendly ghosts at their shop! Wow creepy! If you aren't in El Paso, they have a website you can check out and buy items from. If you're looking for a spooky and/or unique gift for someone, I highly recommend Tooth & Veil. You'll be amazed with the items in there. Check it out! There is something for everyone in there. Was walking down the street while visiting El Paso and passed this cute comics and collectibles…read moreshop and decided to pop in. They have toys, collectibles, branded apparel, comics and costumes. Lots of different items, this is a cool place to wander around. They had limited new comic books but a few boxes of floppies I'd have loved to peruse with more time. The owner I spoke with was very friendly and I was able to buy an indie title that I'm excited to dig into. Cute shop I'd definitely recommend!
