    Fred Loya Christmas Light Show

    Fred Loya Christmas Light Show

Going to the Fred Loya light show has become an annual tradition for me and my family. It's pretty…read moremuch the same lights and displays every year. You can expect: A fun little show with Santa and the Grinch (my personal favorite Xmas character ha ha!), around a 10-minute light show with Christmas music, lots of Christmas decor, a manger display and free hot cocoa and cookies after the show. The shows start in late November and end on Christmas Day. It happens Friday-Sunday at 6, 7 and 8 p.m. Guess what? The show is free! I highly recommend it for the kiddos, novia/novio ( boyfriend/girlfriend) and any other loved ones. Take your loved ones from out of town! Free parking is available at Montwood High School. You'd only have to walk a few blocks to the home. I usually take photos but can't seem to find any from previous years. If I take some more this year, I'll post.

For many years I wanted to visit, I finally did in December 2019. According to the KTSM website the…read moreshow would start at 0600 but didn't state how long the show was. Arrived 15 minutes early, parked in the high school across the street and walked to the house by the time we arrived it was 0606 and the show had already started. The light show ended at 0608. Yes, the show only lasts 8 minutes. They do a show every hour and afterwards the Fred Loya Family opens the gate to the front of their lawn, gives free cookies with hot cocoa. Some of the neighbors also decorate and some charge for pics with Santa. Before you know it .. snow starts coming out the palm trees and yes that makes it a magical moment. As beautiful as it was and being a free show from the heart of the Loya Family I would give it a 5 out of 5, but I personally wouldn't drive there again because how crowded it was, because Im not interested in the free cookies and hot cocoa and because I was more interested in the light show but its hard to enjoy with the large crowd, I prefer watching it at home on youtube.

Two Months later she called back! I told her I had called a couple of months before and she didn't return my call so I found someone else. She said, "Ya, well I don't listen to my voice mails". That's not someone I would want to do business with!

Nanci and Friends organizes estate sales all over town. I think some of her family members help out…read morewith the sales. Nanci also owns an antique shop on North Mesa. I haven't visited it yet but I would consider it. Me and my significant other recently went to one of her sales in the upper valley. The house itself was beautiful. It was three bedrooms and spacious. It was dated a bit but well taken care of. It was also for sale. The upper valley has some of the most beautiful homes in El Paso. Overall, I enjoyed this sale. The prices on items were pretty reasonable compared to other estate sales I've been to. The estate sale had a variety of items for sale like art, comic books, furniture, Christmas decor, cars, an RV, collectibles, records, a vintage radio and TV and so much more. I bought a few comic books (Beauty and the Beast, Transformers, etc.) for $2-3 each. I also bought a couple of Coca Cola collectibles, a cookie jar from 1996, a bank and a Coca Cola mini car. I'll take photos soon! There are a couple of things that could've made this sale run smoother. There was probably hundreds or maybe even thousands of items for sale. A good chunk of the items weren't priced. Another thing that kind of bothered me was the crowd! There was too many people inside of the house! One of the employees finally had someone at the door. He would only let so many people in when some people left. That was a smart idea. I would consider going to another estate sale by Nanci and Friends. They can be found at www.mesastreetantiquemall.com They list their sales, services and more info. there. They also have a Facebook page and an eBay store.
