Employees are friendly and ready to help. Im not a fan of their company stance of anti-marriage equality and anti-birth control on insurance coverage. They restock inventory on Fridays so be prepared to see boxes and carts full of items cluttering the aisles without anyone actually doing any restocking. What irritates me the most is that most of the cheaper supplies like pencils and crayons are not wrapped or sealed in any way. Nearly all of the products had been tampered with, probably by little kids because I always see parents let their kids run around unsupervised. The fact that items on higher shelves are in pristine condition and items on lower shelves are damaged seems to fit my assumption that kids can't reach that high. I checked several boxes of crayons and almost all of them were missing pieces or that had already been used. The same for the pencils. Any package that was damaged but still had all of its contents (even if the contents were in poor condition) would be patched together with cheap tape and then put back on the shelf/rack. In any other business this would not be an acceptable display practice. It tells the customers that the company doesn't care if they sell damaged or tampered goods. Items are arranged by what they are used for, not by what they are. If you want acrylic and oil paint, its on one aisle for professional painting, tempera paint is two aisles over in poster supplies, craft and spray paint is way on the other side of the store in the corner. Many of the craft paints were tampered with as well because there is a weight difference between bottles of the same paint. That, or you see the obvious mess someone made by opening a bottle and squirting it all over the place. On any given day there is usually only two lanes open for checkout and huge lines. Be expected to wait 10-15 minutes while the employees examine every single item to see if its on sale. The only reason I still come here is because they have the widest array of art supplies in town. read more

I love Hobby Lobby! It's everything I love all in one store. Especially right now during the holiday season, there's just asiles and asiles of beautiful Christmas decorations. They have lots of unique gifts and home decor options. They have toys and candy in the front for kids. Rarely have I encountered the level of poor customer service and cheaply made products as I have at this Hobby Lobby. My wife used to shop here from time to time, and while the cost is usually pretty low (except the scrapbooking materials and candle making supplies), the quality is equally low. My wife and I have determined to no longer support Hobby Lobby after our last experience where we returned a very cheaply made scrapbooking tool that broke during normal assembly. While returning the product, we were challenged by the employee to assemble the unit in front of her to prove that it was broken. Then she told us that we had assembled it incorrectly. We told her that we had followed the instructions. Finally she begrudgingly gave my wife her refund. By this point, my wife was beet-red with embarrassment and I was, quite frankly, pissed. I don't know whether there is a company policy to harass people returning items, or whether it was just this person being antagonist, but either way, we will be procuring our future craft project items from Amazon. read more

Fortunately Las Cruces has a Hobby Lobby. Oh, Hobby Lobby, how i love your aisles and aisles of cacahuetes. (For some reason my grandma used to refer to junk trinkets/home decor as cacahuetes) The cool thing was, the other day I went in with a poster that was odd sized and needed a mat cut and they didn't charge me for cutting the mat - only charged me for the mat. We finally checked this place out for the first time the other day. I fell in love with it immediately! It's pretty inspirational as far as all the craft projects they have. Our favorite section was the home decor section. It makes me want to re-decorate our whole house. It's kind of like the home section of Ross and Marshalls as far as selection and pricing...only it's way more organized with unique items. Great for all you bargain hunters! They also have a pretty great holiday section. They have some pretty nice pieces to add to your furniture collection as well. The Christmas decor was 80% off and they already made way for their Valentine's section (about 3 aisles worht of cute stuff). We never would have guessed that this is such a great store because their store logo is so unappealing...it almost looks like something that would be on a hardware store. They could use a logo upgrade for sure. The store would be more attractive for all the newcomers moving into town. read more

They have a lot of good craft stuff, and their prices are decent. It feels like this store does not have enough employees, as finding someone to help you out is rather difficult. Other than that, it was a pretty good shopping experience... Look for upcoming sales, you can save a bundle! read more

I love the corporation of Hobby Lobby. I love that they give their employees Sundays off. I love the Christian themed items in the store. However, I am sick of the lines at this particular Hobby Lobby. And today, I saw dishonesty at the Hobby Lobby, so I will shop elsewhere. After waiting in the line, with my small child, I was happy to start checking out. The cashier saw that the calligraphy pens, 2 packs, were labeled at $1.99 each. She said that she felt that the price was wrong. She called the co-manager, Jesse, over. He said that he too felt the price was wrong. They called back to that section of the store and whoever was back there could not verify that the price was different. After waiting several more minutes, with my small anxious child, the co-manager got on his phone to attempt to look up a price. Now mind you, they were BOTH labeled $1.99. He said that he "thought" that the price "should" be $12.99 each. I was furious. They were guessing. I would have left the entire order there but I had already waited almost 15 minutes, in line and at the register, and I had to have the items. I only bought one pack of the pens. I had another customer ask me if they were not honoring what was labeled. I told her that they were not. Not only did they make me wait, but also the 5 or so people behind me.
