A unique and interesting experience. One of those downtown type places that is quaint and attractive to the area. Even the workers were unique types of people. They vibed with the ambiance and themes. They truly love comics and anime. There is a room completely dedicated to anime, figurines, books, and collectibles. Pinball machines, dungeons and dragons ..... all the stuff you can imagine. They even sell the figurines and paints to create your own characters. My only complaint - there were some explicit covers on things. So although for the most part it's kid friendly. You will have to explain some things to your children after visiting. The prices are fair and the items for purchase are unique. Definitely stop in if you are downtown but be forewarned about the explicit material. read more

We came across Zia comics as we were checking out local businesses near the main square in Las Cruces. This place is huge, and has a lot of offer. There's an arcade, an area for groups to play games, t-shirts and other gear, comic books, anime figures, and more! After you're done shopping you can even grab some ice cream before heading out! The merchandise is good quality, and reasonably priced (that's a hard combination to find). I wish my son was with me because he would have loved this place. I went in to see what I could find for him. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. They answered all my questions and even made some great suggestions. I had a great shopping experience. Wish we had one of these places in San Antonio. Definitely would recommend stopping by if you're in the area. read more

Very nice store located down town. Nice selection of booster packs and some boxes. They have a few precon decks as well. If yo are looking for singles they do not have any. Nice and friendly staff. I do recommend coming here. My daughter and I really like coming here. Tons of other games as well. As their names states, a wonderful selection of comics too. So, I was making a long drive from Texas to California - and decided to stop in Las Cruces. After driving by The Largest Chili Pepper (look it up) I decided to see what the downtown area had to offer in terms of gifts to bring home to my family. Boy, am I glad i stopped at Zia. This place is huge! There are comic books, sure - but also there's a video arcade in the back, several rooms of board games (or tabletop games) tons of wearable merchandise, posters, action figures, statuettes, plush toys, books... just about anything you need. And they sell ice cream. What more could you ask for. I'm so bummed I don't live closer - I would be in here all the time. Do yourself a favor and check this place out! read more

Las Cruces has one of the best comic book stores imaginable. And they have way more than just comics; selling everything from collectibles to board games that you can't find anywhere else period. Their staff is very knowledgeable and Zia often hosts special events, classes and signings. Even through the pandemic they have found ways to keep the latest comics in the hands of its customers and have gone way beyond expectations. Today, I asked if an item was available. A young lad was helping me, and a lady that was there as well, just cut him off and said if it's not there we don't have it. I only give 2 on this one. I found that if you are interested in a format/ game that the staff does not really care about (MTG) you really get treated with bad customer service. I get attitude and snark comments when discussing mtg. Primarily from the younger gentleman that works there. The owner is not so bad and the female will really engage if it's about comics (she is best option with regards to service). One incident was I was promoting the game of magic to one of their patrons and all he (the younger male) could do was bad talk the game, myself, and the products. * ***note***they sell both MTG singles and sealed products. Today I called and asked about FNM events and who ever answered was short, did not answer my question as to what time it started, and hung up. Customer service really needs a fine tuning. read more

Can't truthfully say that I have ever been in the store yet. But after attending the 2014 Las Cruces, New Mexico first ever Comic Con hosted by Zia Comics at the Convention Center, I must say that if the store is run half as good as the comic con was, I'd be there everyday buying goodies. I've been to a lot of stores around the western United States and have to say that this one was pretty good. The walls had some great key books for decent prices. The back issue bin was also pretty nice and had some goodies too. The store was setup easy to navigate. The guy at the counter was also pretty friendly. One major plus is that they had drawer boxes where as a lot of other stores in my area don't carry them. I will go back the next time I'm in the area. read more

I am new to the comic book world. Zia Comics was professional and friendly in helping me order stuff that I was interested in. I've attended some of their board game nights and it has always been a lot of fun. If you enjoy geeky stuff with good people who share your interests then I think this might be the place for you. Troy has a nice little shop tucked away in Las Cruces, NM. They had a nice selection of comics and toys. They even had the MMPR Monopoly game there! So of course I bought it! If you live in the area or are just passing through make sure you check this shop out. Troy is really friendly and can help you out. Troy also invited me to be a guest at the fist ever Las Cruces Comic con. I can say what a pleasure it was to work with him from the moment he called to see if I was available to the time I left back to California. He Knows how to take care of his guests. Plane tickets, travel arrangements and hotel were all taken care of without a hitch. He and his staff were always so helpful during my time there. Troy even had my TMNT VAN transported to the con as well. If he invites you to be a guest, don't hesitate to work with him. and if you ever question going to a event he puts on, JUST GO! he knows how to put on a great show and you will be excited to attend one of his events! This store is great for Southern New Mexico. Enthusiasts of pop culture, comics, games, and collectables will find something here. The store is sectioned off into two areas, one with tables, chairs and a t.v. for playing games or relaxing. This side can easily accommodate the tournaments and hosted events. The other side you will find tables with a large collection of comics. The comics are well organized, and key issues are along the walls. Three racks will feature recent printings. I like that the owner is friendly and staff is helpful. You won't see any large price hikes at this store. I have seen reasonable prices on very valuable CGC issues. Just because most businesses are going the way of the internet, this store is a rarity. Stop in for nostalgia or conversation. Overall it is a great store for shopping or just making friends, there's nothing else like it here in The Crosses. read more

A disappointment as far what I am used to in terms of comic/graphic novel book stores. Mainly Marvel, DC and Darkhorse publications. Found some remaining TokyoPop stuff that has to be pretty old since they went under years ago. Nothing from Drawn & Quarterly, Secret Acres etc. No indie comics or zines. I also noticed some merch but again nothing to write home about. If you are a fan of indie comics this place is not for you. read more
