It's been awhile since I've gone. I love this unique, one of a kind bookstore! It has a homey feel to it. It feels like grandma's or tia's (aunt's) house when you're there. Chicana author Denise Chavez owns it with her husband. Can you believe I actually had the opportunity to take a writing workshop with her? It was such a great opportunity! She's an award-winning writer and there I was in her presence! Thanks to a great aunt, I had the opportunity to take her workshop. My poor aunt is still waiting for me to write a book! Maybe it will happen someday! Anyway... Mrs. Chavez's bookstore has all kinds of books! There was even books in the bathroom! There were lots of children's and non-fiction books, along with many others. I'm not sure what the hours of operation are so I recommend calling before showing up. Mrs. Chavez also sells books online at: abebooks.com She has over 1,000 books for sale there. Copies of her books are sold on Amazon and pretty much anywhere else books are sold. This place is huge!
