My weekends have been pretty much taken over by wedding planning, which means lots of trips to craft stores like Michael's and Joann, and I was happy to find a local shop. It's not just artificial flowers, they sell lots of crafts for weddings, quinceañeras, and homecomings. We found the perfect flowers at S & H, the store not as neatly organized as the big chain stores, but they have tons of stuff and pretty good prices. Also, I risked EVERYTHING to take that photo as there are multiple signs strictly prohibiting photos from being taken, so shhhhh!

Now, in cleaning out my late parent's home, we returned there, boxes of books in hand, and donated them so that they will be available for others to take home and enjoy. There is a huge selection of nonfiction and fiction books available for sale in a separate room. No title costs over $1. This wonderful treasure has been open for many years, and I hope it continues for many more.

The toys can get pricey, but don't you prefer quality toys to quantity? Even better is the fact that this amazing couple opened up an indoor playground, next door to their shop. The playground is a great alternative to bad weather days (which in this blazing, killer heat is pretty much year round), a great place to arrange a play date, or just a place to relax and enjoy the WiFi while the kids get acquainted and do their kid thing. The fee is $8/per day and you can leave and come back as you please. They also offer snacks for sale, an indoor picnic area, and comfortable lounge seating for parents. Bring a pair of socks for you and the kiddos, as they have a 'no shoes' policy. Summer camps, home schooling workshops, and even extreme couponing workshops can be found here.
