    Complimentary wine for the win!
    Prisma ..

One of the cuuuutest, comfiest, most homey feel good book stores I've ever experienced! And I do mean, an EXPERIENCE. On my way passing through EP to get to NM, my sister and I couldn't help our inner nerdy child but to stop by for a good read. It's an actual home turned bookstore and I love it! Anna, who was working there when we pulled up, is suuuper chill, down to earth and made us feel right at home. Complimentary wine, beer, or water is given (limit 2 per person) and I just think the idea of that is so unique!!! Crazy amount of book selection... there's a little bit for everyone! One of the rooms is a specially made kiddie room for your kids or your own nostalgic purposes. Decor is on point and there's even a section before entering where this spot offers FREE books. What bookstore does that!? (; it's in a neighborhood so you'll be street parking. I genuinely had a good time getting lost in this place! Would love to come back a adventure some more. 10/10 recommend if you're in the area!

Found this place on Apple Maps and checked it out just before closing time. I felt like I was walking into an old friend's living room as a long awaited guest and friend. Two people playing guitar and NOT singing Christmas songs, thank you very much! The 'store' is set up in a normal residence, each room has its own theme and the (used) books are very neatly arranged and the categories well labeled. There was a coffee pot for self service. When I went to pay for the book i had not intended to buy () the host offered me a cold drink to take along. The prices are excellent; the mood is inviting and warm. Swing by if you're in El Paso!

I was recommended this bookstore by a coworker and she failed to mention how unique it was!! I absolutely love that it's a little home near downtown el paso and has a really comfy vibe to it. You can go and a enjoy and afternoon searching and reading books on their very personalized sitting areas. Their bathroom is a mini art gallery!! And the place is just so welcoming. I asked if pets were allowed and as long as they are well behaved they didn't see an issue with it. I will definitely be returning for more books. The shopkeeper also makes these cute little colorful stickers for the little kids in us to collect!

I visited back in February when I was in El Paso. I love visiting bookstores when I visit a place and Brave Books was such a lovely spot! It's a bookstore in a converted home so it felt very cozy and unique. Each room is filled floor to ceiling with books and there are some knick-knacks (bookshelf decor) that can also be purchased. There are books of all genres available for sale and my partner and I left very happy!

Is it a house? Is it a library? Is it a museum? Despite its apparent small size, this one of a kind bookstore, located in the heart of El Paso, offers a great selection of books. An array of authors and titles just waiting to be discovered. It's not just a quick stop, it's an experience.

Pretty cool little shop, smack dab in the heart of EPTX. Good selection. Good vibe. Welcoming. Come spend some time and get lost among the books and the stories they tell

What bookstore offers you a FREE margarita?? This one! :)

This is a cute, little place! After reading about how fantastic it was from friends via social media, I decided to check it out. I love books and reading! I don't read books as often as I should these days. I still buy them and love being in bookstores for hours at a time. The bookstore is literally inside of a house! I admire that! Brave Books has a pretty good selection of books from different genres. I felt the prices were a bit high for hardcover books. I saw an average price of $10-12 for them. I think that's pricey for a used book. I understand they're about 50 percent off the regular cost of a new book. I don't think any of them were first edition or rare. However, If some were first edition and rare then those are great prices. There's also some paperback books for $1-3. This was more up my alley. Most of the books at these prices were the children's books. I ended up getting a Charlie/Willy Wonka paperback for $2.50. Brave Books was giving away free refreshments and margaritas the day I went. Margaritas and books is an excellent combination! Would I come back? I'm pretty sure I would. :) Books are happiness!

My son bought a book and got to read a few chapters before going into the hot El Paso sun.

What a gem! I took my young gaming boys out of the home today & into the real world this beautiful Saturday afternoon. The 3 of us love to read and the youngest even reads in Spanish. So, when I heard about Brave Books from a friend who knows I'm a teacher...(It was Teacher Appreciation day so I got to sip a delicious, frozen margarita while enjoying the selection of new and old books, puzzles, and children's literature.)...I had to pack us in the car and check out this precious little bookstore, so worth it.

So I need a final gift for a late Christmas get together and I was ordering online but as I'm doling the search I saw it was in stock and available at the local B&N at The Fountains so I think HEY! I'll just go get it now! It's about 2:30. Well I haven't graced their doors in Years! So as you walk in there is a "help desk" and I think hey ask them, it's better than wandering around for 20 minutes searching for that section. So I go up to the desk and ask the lady where the Bible's are and she says follow me ... and I do. And of course it's like Going to Costco for a Rotisserie Chicken... they are all the way in the back. Good move using the help desk. Because I'd have thought the most famous book ever in print would be closer to the front but I was wrong. I thanked the lady an began to peruse the section for the one or one like what I wanted ... I found 2-3 I wanted to sit down and compare... there was a one chair at the end of that book stack. So I did sit a minute and go thru some pages the I remembered seeing another one on the shelf I wanted to see if it had red lettering .. so I got up and went to get it and came back to the chair and now a lady was sitting in it, playing games on her phone. So I'm standing there with 3 books looking for a chair.. I wander around, all thru the kids area, all thru several other stack of books and sections, no chairs period. It appears the Bible section chair is the ONLY chair in the back of the place... as you go back forward I found just 2 more chairs, occupied. Back in the day, years ago when I was a semi regular at B&N, there were chairs everywhere! At the ends of all the stacks. There was even a lot of chairs in the children's area for reading circles. Today I saw People on walkers and canes trying to shop, who I bet would have appreciated a lowly CHAIR to sit in and read a paragraph or two, to decide if they wanted to buy the book or not... that's what it used to be about at B&N, reading... and getting SA book to take home... oh sure you could TRY to hobble all the way BACK to the front of the mammoth store to the Starbucks cafe and sit there but it's full of teens laughing and giggling & drinking free water and head some adult readers but the on is the tables are all full and it's noisy boisterous, with coffee machines bubbling and spewing. And all you want is nice semi quiet place to sit and look at the book a few moments, without having someone steal it so they can sit and play telephone games. So anyway, I make my choice and move to the front to pay and leave.... There are, I counted 17 people in line to check out. One cashier. Now the help desk has 5 ladies. But not the checkout. 4 days after Christmas. When people are making exchanges, cashing in gift cards and Barnes Bucks or whatever they are called that kids save up for every time they buy books... or toys they earn points they can cash in, if they can find their account or card for new toys or books... you learn a lot of this by over hearing as you stand in line for 40 MINUTES waiting to simply buy the one book you chose and LEAVE. After the 30 minute mark my back went into spasms. I can't a tan for long periods of time, I should not be standing in a line this long just to buy a Bible at the bookstore with 5 cash registers 4 days after Christmas. Finally at this point one of the help desk ladies comes over be cause the line BEHIND ME now is like 17 waiting as well, and I progressed about 8 thru. Things pick up now and move twice as fast with two cashiers. At the 40 minute mark I finally get to the counter JUST as Second Lady from the help desk also comes over and opens a 3rd register. I tell my cashier NO. I don't have a B&N card, no, I don't want one or to join any club, I just want to pay for my purchase and GO. And that it's RIDICULOUS you have people standing in this line for 40 minutes! I pay and take my Bible and leave. It took me all of 2 MINUTES for my transaction. If you have and expect exchanges & Returns , you need a separate area for that thru the first of January. Not at the checkout lane. It's too time consuming and inhibits other customers from simply completing their shopping trip, paying and leaving. And why at 2:30 with 17 people in a congested line do you only have ONE CASHIER 4 days after Christmas?? School is still out, people are still off from many jobs, it's a SUNDAY, the store is what I would call FULL. ‍‍ One Star for the lady at the help desk who took me all the way back to the Bible's section.
