I very rarely give 5 stars. Geoff and Alec here deserve it. No question. Brought my bike in before their Feb special was over for a level 2 tune and shock service. When I showed up Geoff was super attentive and eager to help out. I asked what the chances were for a Sunday ride. He said man, we can try but it's honestly going to be Tuesday. Bummer as the weekend was beautiful and I wanted to ride. He was professional and remember in high school when folks would write "stay cool" in your yearbook? He remained cool. Fun to talk to and shoot the breeze with. So Saturday came upon us and I called to see if there was an update. Sadly Alec was swamped and was given the news that probably Tuesday. No worries, I destroyed my legs at the gym because surely there was no way they would call Saturday afternoon, right? Wrong. Called around 3 and said "Alec is a beast, your bike will be ready by 5". Drove my happy ass up there and grabbed my purple Norco and couldn't have been happier. Shot the breeze with them for a bit, Alec is also a cool dude who was great to visit with. The bike? Bike accessories are limited in stock, but they will check their warehouse for a product and ship to you or the store. One item they carry that peaked my interest was Quadlock. I have seen very few places that carry this brand and if you are unaware then let me fill you in. Quadlock is an Australian company that makes some high quality, rugged cases for phone, bike, and motorcycle mounts. In my opinion, RAM mounts were the go to until I stumbled upon QUADLOCK a year ago. I have used this mount on my MTB with no noticeable degradation (on paved and gravel). The patented locking system is ingenious and makes me wonder why it was not thought of sooner. I have a bike from 1976..it was cleaned up and put back together in order to ride. 1 problem was that my coaster brake is acting up. I call Bike Barn and speak to a "Specialist" to see if they can look at it & they agreed to give it a look. Even sounding excited to help which got me excited because I have spent months of work on this bike restoring. I show up and walk my bike through only to be looked at and have those looks trial downward to my bike. I have never felt so uncomfortable and judged at a store where I thought me and my bike belonged in a store revolving around bicycles. It isn't until I see the bikes on display going $3k & up. Which tells me I'm in another world. A specialist comes up to me, I tell him my coaster brake is acting up, to which he clearly wasn't the excited individual on the phone. He walks my bike and locks it into a bike vice with no care to how old the bike is or whether he scratches the work I slaved over repainting this bike. Doesn't even spend 5 minutes looking at my issue and walks my bike back to me. "Yeah we cant work on this. We are too slammed and we can't spend time opening this up to put back together and fix it. You're better off buying a new one because it's CHEAP." I'm just being polite and nod to his face when I had every right to be angry at how uncomfortable the entire treatment had been. Why tell me, YOU the SPECIALIST..tell me to bring my bike in and you will give it a look..KNOWING how complicated a coaster brake can be because you're the "SPECIALIST"...only to spend 3min actually touching the bike and man By the end of the visit, I couldn't help but feel I had either been profiled or judged by my bike. Visiting family from my home in Moab and called a few shops to see if they had any women's specific full suspension bikes in store so I could check some out since my...women's specific full suspension...bike was just stolen. Was told "they don't make women's specific full suspension bikes." Educate your staff. Or if you don't know something, ask. Came across as sexist. As if mountain biking is a men's only sport. I gave my name repeatedly, bicycle type and they couldn't find record of it. After 10 minutes on phone I had to go back to work and said nevermind. Got a message from manager that they needed to now what type of bike I ordered. ( Yeah, they didn't have a clue. No organization at all) I drive down after work and ask for a refund of deposit which they immediately did. Short story: we bought our grandson a little 12" bike on Amazon. Cute little thing, but it did need some assembly. Surely with both of us holding college degrees and having assembled a myriad of other children's playthings before, we figured this would be a snap. Not so easy. "Place the handlebar stem into the top of the steer tube which is the top end of the fork that has been inserted into the head tube . . . " -- but nothing fits! At least not for US. After a few spews of dialog that were not quite child-friendly, hubby suggests going to Bike Barn for help. I eagerly chime in -- "Yeah -- go NOW!" I want it over and done with. In about 20 minutes, he was gone and back home -- bike assembled. No charge. Very nice and accommodating. THAT is what I call customer service from a local shop. Finally a friend told me about Curt at bike barn in champions so I went to see Curt! He adjusted my seat and handlebars. I now have no pain when riding. Curt is very knowledgeable when it comes to bikes and he has no problem sharing his knowledge. I learned more from him on one visit than I did the many times I went to the bike store near my house. That was all the time I needed to decide to make an exit for the door and drive 45 minutes to Fletcher Studio Bike to get both my bikes serviced there instead. Kevin at Fletcher is nice, professional and very knowledgeable and charge fair prices. Bike Barn charges an an arm-and-two legs just to service your bike and justifies it with a bunch of bogus excuses. If you don't believe me go see for yourself and "play dumb" just see what prices and excuses they will give you. If you have money to burn and don't mind taken for an idiot and a fool, go here. If you are looking for decent bike people go elsewhere. The Bike Barn sales people are nice but you should expect that from someone who's trying to get you to buy their overpriced bikes. read more

Bike Barn does not bother with replying to any reviews, and that goes hand in hand with my experience. I had a really long review typed out, but it can be condensed into...3 trips to the store, a "major" tuneup, and the rear tire being the culprit but never looked at until the third visit? Good grief! All is well with the bike now and the repairs seem to have worked, but I believe I am done buying and shopping at this particular store. I went into this Bike Barn for the first time on Saturday. I am a beginner and will be riding in my first MS:150 in a few weeks so I needed my bike inspected. They got to me right away and I didnt have to wait at all. The guy inspecting my bike was a little rude at first, but ended up doing a lot of maintence on my bike at no cost and gave me some good tips for my upcoming ride. The only negative thing i noticed is everything is fairly pricy. Sun and Ski has much better deals from what I could tell! Overall it was a good expierence! read more

Man what a let down! Let me start with - I've never asked for anything free at this shop. Never... I spend a TON of money buying gear and mountain bikes every month. No im not rich and it's because of this sport! Really though I spend thousands a year doing this! I've bought 3 high end mountain bikes from bike barn in the last 4 years totaling over $14,000.00 and lots of other stuff from foods, clothes, head bands, service work etc. I went in today looking for a specific tire. They didn't have it. Not surprised... I was disappointed but willing to settle for another brand in which I was going to purchase two so they matched. So I asked the sales rep (who is a great gal and I will always think highly of her) but if it's truly company policy to not give a good long term customer a measly little discount that's a problem. I own multiple business and this is one way I show my consistent customers I appreciate them! I simply asked for free install if I bought the tires ($120) she said "no I can't. It's not my shop. Company Policy" I said ok then I'll pay for the tires and the install but give me free stans since they are tubeless. Her response was the same. I said really?? Come on now - I come here often and I'm moving into the hood so I figured I would come buy from you guys on this deal and I'm even willing to buy a tire that's not quite as good as the one I specifically came in for! I went to see Curt and was properly measured and fitted. I rode 25 miles today with absolutely no pain! Aaron is a very knowledgable bike mechanic who works fast and thoroughly. He was very up front on pricing and even threw in few suggestions on upgrades for my bike that I later purchased. Kenton was my salesman for both my Specialized Camber and Trek Remedy. He made sure I got a competitive price and was full of facts about both bikes. They do free maintenance after a couple rides to assure everything is functioning and that you are happy with your purchase. The newer open layout of the store is also more inviting than it use to be. I don't see why there are bad reviews here... i have only met professional people here. Five stars, hands down. read more

I broke my front derailleur, I took it to another bike shop close and they told me it would take a while to find the part and install it... With that being said I went to Bike barn just to see if they could find the part and install it faster. I went in and spoke to Matt, If you ever have a bike problem take you bike to this guy! He was very helpful he wanted to help me replace just the PART and get my bike back on the road. I spoke to another guy in the shop and I am not sure he wanted to just replace only the front derailleur however Matt was VERY helpful with just replacing that part, I dropped it off Wednesday and was able to pick my bike up the very next day. Very quick and Very professional. If you go talk to Matt he is VERY nice and helpful. read more
