So the treehouse is a hood spot if you want trap music and cheap drinks. Nothing wrong with that though, sometimes that is what you are going out for. It's a really decent outdoor bar that can be a whole vibe depending on what time you go. I visited here for the first time with a friend in the spring. She had been there before and told me it gets much more crowded in the evening, but we were there mid-afternoon on a Saturday. She said it can be hard to claim a tire swing, so we bee-lined it to one as soon as we saw an opening. I think there were only two tire swings and a few sets of traditional swings. I love the concept. However, because of the use it or lose it mentality, securing your next drink can be tricky because you'll have to abandon your victoriously claimed swing seat. There didn't seem to be enough bartenders staffed to meet demand, but it wasn't too slow. I'm not a beer fan though, so I did feel bad ordering a cocktail knowing it would slow them up even more. read more

I've been to Treehouse a few times and I can tell you that it's only an attractive nighttime or weekend option when the weather is nice. The inside of Treehouse is kind of gross, not because it is an older building but because sometimes I question whether they own a broom and a mop. As a young 30 something, Treehouse is never my first option. I think their clientele is a bit younger. The things I look for at a going out spot, comfy seating, chill atmosphere, good vibes, tend to be in short supply at Treehouse. I've seen it get rowdy. If that's your scene, great! Spacious patio bar decked out to be the adult version of a treehouse. Plenty of seating including various swing types. As long as the bar is properly staffed there should be minimum wait. Large bar area, and the drinks are either from a can or slushi machine which should keep the line moving. Visited on the Sunday evening walked right in, took a look around and had my pick of swing. Different days and times may be a bit different. As for staff interactions. They are people too, would be nice to respond with something other than your drink order when they say hello or ask how you are doing. Go check it out and have a field day of sorts. read more

I went on a Sunday afternoon and it was maybe 20 people which I didn't mind. I went on a Friday night, it was crowded but not that crazy kind of crowded. It was a great atmosphere, great music and great mixed crowd. Seemed to me like the 30 and up crowd stayed outside while the 20 somethings went inside to the OTR live part (they own both I guess). Good drink prices. I made the mistake of going at 1:15a on a Saturday night. Big mistake, line down the street, sidewalks crowded, not my thing. It was the younger rowdy ish crowd. I'm looking for the grown and sexy so I'll make sure that my 36 year old tail avoids this place after midnight on a Saturday night. O and ya gotta love the swings. By far the worst bar in Cincinnati (OTR). Drinks are insanely expensive, space is dirty, and the service is awful. Went to an afterparty there after pride and the fire alarms went off for the first hour or so... They also charged my friend $1,500 for two bottles of *cheap* liquor that were supposed to be complimentary with our VIP package. When we went back to contest the charges they told us, "This is why we don't deal with f@gg0ts." Wonderful way to end pride month. This place is pretty freakin sweet even if somewhat incomplete. A massive, well-lit turtle mural behind the stage dominates the patio. Stairs descend fancifully from said mural. There's an unofficial dance area at the bottom of the stairs. The open-air, treehouse-inspired bar (the bar isn't actually in a tree, unfortunately, as fun as that sounds) is spacious and positioned to serve everyone quickly. It's large enough that if you really want to sit you can sit--on swings at the treehouse bar if you're into that. The perimeter is lined with almost Arabian semi-veiled comfy seat areas. It's an interesting decor decision for this bar but seems to work. I like the trees interspersed throughout the patio. It's not finished, yet, so the bathrooms are currently portapotties at the back. The indoor part won't be finished and ready for use until August according to management. No games have been set up so far. Dogs are welcome! Visited here last night with a group of friends. To start, I'm a very outdoorsy person so I knew I needed to get here ASAP. I was lucky enough to grab a swing at the bar! But the bar was pretty crowded! The bar seats are the swings, but they were smart enough to put about 2 feet between the swings and the bar so that other people can stand if the swing sitters aren't ordering at the moment. You don't feel like you're in downtown Cincinnati when you're here. It really does have that "treehouse" vibe to it! Like the previous review said, the bathrooms are currently porta pottys but if you know that going in and that it's still under construction I'm okay with it. They did buy both indoor and outdoor space, so I'm anxious to see how they do the inside. Late to finishing up the review. Mid Summer visits. But went with Wife and another couple on one occasion, and again with my wife and my son & daughter-in-law on another occasion.. Good drinks, casual atmosphere. All Outside, nice couches and a bunch of swings, Yes! Swings, to just sit and talk and crowd watch. There were two guys playing guitar and keyboards the first visit. They finished up early and a DJ took over. Second visit, it was just a DJ. Music not too loud, so yo could hear it easily but still have a good conversation. Drink prices were good, for a downtown spot. Nothing too outrageous. Honestly, not my age group but the wife wanted to check it out. More 21+ to late 30s it seemed like. But still , nice place. Every song involves lyrics that contain the terms "pussy, mother fucker, bitch, ni..er, fuck me, fuck you, lick me, suck me" the roof is leaking, the bartenders are barely dressed. There are four trash cans catching the leaking roof. The owners drive Lamborghini's and the best yet...they wouldn't let a black male in because he had on Uggs. They said it's against dress code. The look of the bar and idea of tree swings is pretty cool. We were able to try the place out on a weeknight evening, where it wasn't busy at all. We had fun on the swings, and liked that it was nestled in a different area of OTR. However, I had no idea of the discrimination reviews many people had prior. That would have likely steered me away from trying out this place! Although we had a nice visit, I don't really want to support a place that is discriminating people on their dress code aka race. Cool bar, pretty trendy. There was a bit of a line at the bar, but that's expected being new. Arrived around 8pm, so clearly there were no swings available. Not much seating, ended up on the steps, which was not bad. No wait to get in when I got there, but after 11...wow, long line outside. It wasn't anything out of the ordinary so I would never wait to get in. If I do go back, I'd probably go earlier. It gets way too crowded as the night goes on. The Treehouse Patio Bar is a fun unique bar to visit in Cincinnati. It is definitely best to go in the summer so you can swing outside on the patio on either a treehouse swing or on one of the handful of hammocks around the bar. My best experiences here have been on either a week day night or during the day on a nice summer weekend. Weekend nights tend to get very crowded and I've stood on the line which can get to be longer than a block long. It gets very crowded and is often hard to get a seat or drinks on nights like this. There is an inside section with a DJ and dance floor but I recommend hanging out outside where there is a chill atmosphere and even a few Jenga sets! read more

The coolest bar! We were in town for a friends birthday and he had this on his list of places to go. It was so neat! We didn't venture anywhere in this place besides the area around the bar with the swings because it was the highlight of the place. We walked right in and the bartender was ready to help us. When we first arrived it wasn't too busy so we walked right up to the bar and they helped us. As the afternoon went on it got busier and a line formed at the bar but they were quick to get through it. There are tables and chairs you can sit at or there are treehouse swings which are far more comfortable than I expected. They had a pretty big variety of beer so that was great for all tastes. Went here and had no problems getting in. However my style of clothing is what they'd hope for in a patron at their bar. My issue came with the bar. No menu. No specials during happy hour. It's a bar under trees. Could've had a cooler aesthetic than it does. Put a "no girls allowed" sign somewhere or something that says treehouse. Before I got there I read some reviews and saw they'd denied people entry based on their dress although there is no dress code. The people assumed it was because they were black. Once I got in, I didn't pay it any mind though. Because I'm pretty black. I thought that maybe they're overreacting. A day later, a friend of mine told me he had gotten denied entry because he was dress too urban. This now verified the earlier reviews accuracy. That's bull. I text a friend of mine that knows the owner and he said they intentionally do this because they don't want to make their desired crowd feel uncomfortable. That's beyond me! Well, this place was a huge disappointment. My husband and I went and met up with a big group of friends this past weekend. Couple of things: 1. Drinks were WAY overpriced. I was drinking White Claw (hard seltzer water) and my husband was drinking beer and our tab was 65$ for 7 drinks. Outrageous. Especially for a casual outdoor bar. 2. Not enough seating.... at all. 3. The worst part about this place, they discriminate against who they let in the bar. Can you even believe that? In OTR? In an eclectic downtown neighborhood? They have the nerve to turn good people away due to dressing "too urban". This is an OUTDOOR, casual bar! Not even a ritzy night club. How stupid! I cannot stand businesses that discriminate against people. A few of the individuals that they turned away are great people, and by no means "scary". If people were afraid of being downtown with all different demographics they wouldn't be at a bar in OTR. This place better get it together or they will continue to lose business. I enjoyed the swings and was sitting right by the service lane. There is no uniformity in their pours. Most of the pours were a 2 1/2 or 3 count. That doesn't even add up to an ounce of liquor. After the novelty wears off people will realize that they are over charged and under poured. Was super excited for this place since I'm always looking for outdoor places to hangout however I was majorly let down. It was crowded when I walked in but was not suprised since it was new and a Saturday. However, the bar did not seem prepared to deal with a crowd. The way the swings are set up made getting drinks take forever and very awkward. Once I did get a drink I was told there was a $10 min. Though I think that's fair there are no signs and a super long line that I was now stuck getting into again so I could get my card back. Once I did get another drink and could get my check I noticed I had been charge for 3 drinks. However at this point I just wanted to leave so bad and felt bad for the bartender that I didn't waste 20 mins of both of our nights and just paid it. Between the bathrooms being in another bar and hang beams with no swings hooked up, you get the feeling that the bar was just thrown together with little thought. Like the other reviews mentioned, the drinks are not great at all but the ambience is worth coming here. We came like 10 mins after they opened on Saturday at 4 pm and they were already crowded. We had to wait to get a swing side by side. This is a good spot to come for a casual date like in the Fall to just talk and chill. The creativity of actual tree houses, hammocks and swings is dope. I've never seen anything like it. Our bartender was rude for whatever reason and made it clear he had his favorite customers that he was more attentive to. read more

The rules to get in this bar are extremely weird. They wave everyone down and searching for weapons which is understandable but they confiscate items if they are suspicious which makes sense if the items were weapons, however, they made me hand over pepper spray that was attached to my keychain...so weird. Additionally, they seem to be sexist as a woman in front of us was permitted in wearing a spaghetti strap tube top, however, I was denied entry wearing a tank. I wouldn't recommend going. This bar put Cincinnati bars to shame. As a born and raised person of Cincinnati I was looking forward to my time at this bar. The management was extremely rude, yelling at customers for standing on swings when the sign indeed says "swing at your own risk" . If you have concerns about people swinging then please put up a sign instead of yell at customers. on top of that this bald dude sat in the bar area eating an extra extra large goodfellas pizza (which don't get me wrong is amazing) impeding customers from being able to get drinks. Not to mention his lack of professionalism with his cargo pants and poorly worn T-shirt. I suggest you consider before going to this bar. Cool spot! Went around 8:00 on a Saturday and it was already pretty busy. Was tough to get a seat! We did eventually get to sit on a swing which is as fun as you would think it is! Adult playground. They had a musician playing on their great stage! Really nice music and a super awesome stage! We Enjoyed that and the environment. I know there have been some issues with bouncers etc here but we had a fine experience all around. Tons of a variety of people ranging from older to bachelorette parties and from black to whites. We just got beers so I can't comment on cocktail drinks, but our bar experience was fine. If you go- go on a nice night! It is a beautiful place with a fun environment. read more

Overall, the establishment is appealing aesthetically but lacks overall standard businesses practices. Two things; 1. There are no set prices for drinks at this venue(other than the slushy drinks) , the price of your drink will be whatever the bartender charges you, period. Some of the bartenders will tell you it is a $10 minimum to use a card, but others don't. -this ultimately leaves room to charge people more for drinks, based on anything they are able to see (gender, race, potentially sexuality, religion. ) 2. I recently had an experience in the women's restroom where a male employee entered the restroom without announcing himself , nor did he have on any uniform or anything with the name of the place noted on him. This happened right before or at closing time & apparently, the employee needed to grab bleach, which I learned after speaking to the group of other employees who were all standing out side of the restroom , as if we were the ones wrong for suggesting that the employee should have announced himself upon entering. The first excuse was that they didn't know anyone was in the restroom, which was not true because myself and my friends were talking and laughing, also that is the point of announcing yourself TO SEE IF SOMEONE IS IN THERE. The second excuse was because it was time for us to leave anyway, because apparently they were closing soon. I understand trying to direct customers to an exit, but if we are in the restroom we're in the restroom. They just happened to be closing while we were in there & We were not even the last people to leave the venue. The group of employees literally tried to argue with me about why he shouldn't have had to announce himself,  instead of just saying that it was a lesson learned on their behalf and will do better in the future. This is a red flag because it doesn't seem as if they'd want to do better moving forward, so ladies be careful because a man that works there can apparently enter the bathroom & not announce themselves and it is okay to them. read more

Awesome place to sit have a drink and talk, the music it's alright not the best but it's fine. On their other hand the drinks are not the best and overpriced for what they taste like.
