What a cute spot for breakfast! We stopped before heading home from the beach and we were very pleased. They currently have you order at the window. They have baked goods, biscuits, egg sandwiches, coffee, and bottled drinks. The crumb cake and the huge blueberry muffins were fantastic. I'm from NY and the crumb cake reminded me of the kind you can get back home with a large crumb layer. Yum. The biscuit egg sandwiches were HUGE and so yummy. We got the biscuits and honey as well as the Southern Comfort biscuit. The Southeen biscuit came with pimento cheese, fried green tomato, egg, and bacon. For mine I got my egg over hard as I believe in that sandwich came runny. I also took off the bacon. Still plenty of food and absolutely delicious. My friend ordered as is and it looked amazing too. The biscuits were the size of my hand. We definitely had to use a fork and knife to eat! They have outdoor seating under the trees and under the balconies attached to the surrounding shops. Cozy looking inside, we chose outdoor seating since it was a beautiful morning. The food was delicious, I'd go back again. Wanted to like it. A probably could with a few improvements. We got there just in time. I will say that. Got there about 830 am. Not a long line. Ordered two sandwiches, one with no biscuit due to gluten allergies. Two coffees. One coffee right the other on not so much. Not even sure it was coffee. Waited 40 mins for food. As stated earlier came out wrong. The one with "no biscuit" They said they could fix it but would be at least 35 mins. No thanks. Was able to pick the biscuit off with little issues. Nice area in kind of a outdoor seating area. Quite and relaxing, then some guy with a guitar shows up, he was ok but why play loud guitar melody's when your already playing house music? Didn't make much sense. Lastly the flys...gaaaaauud lord the flys. Like you could not sit your food down or it was swarmed with flys. Not sure what can be done about that but huge turn off. I get outdoor seating and expect some but this was more than the usual annoying fly. When we left at almost 10..note time we got there..looong wait for food. The line was probably 30 people deep. I will say chicken sandwich/biscuit is good. Falls apart so make sure you get silverware but great flavor. read more

Really great breakfast spot in Duck! Tree House Coffee and Rope Ladder Kitchen are the same spot. They currently have two seperate Yelp reviews so it can get confusing. You can get your tasty coffee AND biscuits here. For coffee they carry Counterculture which is definitely my favorite NC roaster. They also have an expansive speciality coffee drink menu as well. On to the biscuits! Plenty to choose from for vegetarians and carnivores alike. I went with the classic bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit and was not disappointed. My friend got the special of the day which had brie cheese and apple sausage, and my other friend got egg and avocado. Everyone enjoyed their huge crumbly biscuit and we all agreed we would head back in next time! We had a little bit of a hard time finding them. Stopped by Sunday morning on the way out of OBX and had the breakfast burrito. This was by far the best breakfast burrito I have ever had in my entire life! The eggs were moist and fluffy, not a lot of potatoes, and the cheese, avocado and lime sauce blended perfect with the salsa. The salsa Rosa was on the side so you can spice it up to your own taste. My wife and I enjoyed Treehouse Coffee 2X during our stay here in Duck. We thought the hot beverages were very good; latte, cortado, regular dark coffee. The biscuit with honey was very tasty as well as the bacon, egg and cheese biscuit. (Be ready to use a fork for the bacon, egg and cheese biscuit, not a big deal at all) Service was timely and the space itself is very nice, whether or not you'd like to sit inside or outside on the covered porch or courtyard. It was initially a really cute spot to grab some breakfast and hang out. However, the line was really long so I decided to place a mobile order and wait instead. I stood at the pick up counter for around 20 minutes AFTER the order stated it would be done for 1 drink so at least 45 minutes, and when I asked the lady making the drinks if it was perhaps missed..she stated I had to wait in line to "check in" and acted confused like it didn't exist. It really defeats the purpose of placing a mobile order if you have to proceed to stand in line to checkin. It doesn't even state that anywhere when placing the mobile order. The service needs some work. Don't place a mobile order expecting it to be ready anywhere near the time it gives you. read more

The chicken biscuits are amazing, and while I haven't tried everything I've seen most items and have received feedback from people I've been here with. However, after waiting 45 minutes for a dry biscuit that crumbled upon touching the plate and receiving a thousand bread crumbs, I was clearly upset. Best coffee on the banks. We love this coffee shop . We have since it opened and nobody knew of the place. Now with the reputation they have and the outstanding food they have added it's crazy getting into this place. An hour and half wait to get coffee on days we are not eating breakfast is a little much. This is the best coffee in Duck, and they also make some great breakfast sandwiches! Everything is served with a polite "Go F yourself attitude" by the European help they hire each year. Nothing against Europeans by any means, the ones here just have a bit of an attitude. Barring that, the coffee is excellent. Give it a try. Expect a long line on summer mornings. Drinks are pretty quick, sandwiches can take quite a while. It is set back from the main road but easy to get to. Turn on Christopher Street and you can park right next to the shop. If you're going to enjoy your latte there get it in a "for here" cup and enjoy it in a real mug instead of paper. Everyone raves about the biscuit sandwiches. I don't notice it being different than any other biscuit, but they're made fresh and the sandwiches are good. Mine came with a very very small side of fruit on an otherwise lonely plate. We decided to stop here for breakfast on a Saturday around 8 am and it was clearly a very popular place judging by the line to order. They serve coffee and breakfast sandwiches all on their own biscuits. I ordered a biscuit and honey and my husband had a ham and egg sandwich. We both shared a blueberry muffin which was definitely not quite fresh as it was cold from being recently removed from a refrigerator. The biscuits were great but honestly the coffee was the best part. Do not come here if you're looking for lighter fare. Our food was great but definitely greasy and buttery.
