Inside coffee bar

AMAZING!! 100% will be back when on vacay!! Amazing by food, coffee, and I loved the vibe inside the shop! My boyfriend was obsessed with the breakfast platter he got with pimento cheese

The chicken biscuit breakfast sandwich is my favorite thing I get on the outerbanks every year when I come with my family.

You're not going to get a better breakfast in the Outerbanks. The line forming before they open is a testament to the quality of the food. Luckily the line moved pretty fast and they had a ton of seating open. I was so amazed by the menu, they had so many unique options that all sounded delicious. My husband got the pimento biscuit sandwich and it was SO good. I'm dying to go back to Duck so I can eat here again!

Egg and bacon biscuit!!!!

Biscuit is homemade and to perfection! Bacon I'd 1/4 inch thick....insane! So delicious! Not much of a coffee fan here but their breakfast, bar none, best in the area and sure to please. Outside seating in the courtyard. Pretty. We showed up after they closed, yet they still served us!!!

Delicious, MASSIVE biscuit sandwiches? Yes please. This place is a gem in Duck that we were lucky enough to try on our way in to Corolla for the week. There was definitely a line but it moved quick, and service was fast and friendly. I got the Southern biscuit with fried green tomatoes and pimento, and it was one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. My wife got the bacon egg avocado and cheese biscuit and also loved it. Coffee was perfectly good as well. We ate outside and food was delivered quickly. I will be craving these biscuits all year.

Fruit and granola parfait

Fabulous brunch spot! Took about 20 minutes to order and another 20 to get our food. There was an awesome outdoor mimosa and other beverages at a bar area outside. This made the wait more enjoyable. As did the very good acoustic guitar playing singer! Love live music in a nice outdoor setting! Food was fantastic. Loved the crab cake and egg biscuit sandwich. It had a tamarind aioli that should have helped cut the richness but there was so little of it I asked for a lemon slice to squeeze on it which somehow they had no lemon? I ended up adding some Texas Pete' s hot sauce and that helped a lot. The parfait was not remotely a parfait. It was a very genius heap of yogurt with a small mountain of yummy granola and a ton of strawberries and blueberries. Nice drizzle of honey over the top as well. I don't know why it's called a parfait because it's a big ol' plate of food. Not a stacked item in a glass. Regardless, very good! We were worried about finding seating but it wasn't a problem at all, even though it seemed crowded.

The coffee is nothing to write home about but the food is out of this world. I tried the (huuuuge) breakfast burrito with chorizo and a biscuit with honey. Both were 10/10. Highly recommend.

They serve the biggest biscuits or french toast I have ever seen, and so delicious! The chicken and sausage gravy biscuit, with pickles, was so good, had a tiny kick to it. Friendly staff and great service.

Outdoor space

Best biscuits ever! Coffee was also delicious and super cute indoor and outdoor seating. Surrounded by lots of cute shops and under charming trees. A longer wait for food, but that's what you get when it's so good! Will definitely be going back.

Their biscuits are amazing! Coffee was great but completely outdone by the biscuits and gravy and breakfast bowl.

Stopped by it was great. Service was excellent. Ordered a sweet tea and a lemonade. The sweet tea…read morewas great but the lemonade was phenomenal. The lemonade was made on the spot to ensure freshness. I got the fried fish of the day, which happened to be flounder. It came with two side, I got the cucumber salad and pasta salad. Also ordered the BBQ Platter with fries and coleslaw. Both plates came with cornbread. They were great! Wanted to try as many sides as possible and was not disappointed. Got a brownie to go because their dessert case is strategically by the register to pay out. I was already entirely too full because the flounder was the size of my head, but everything in the dessert case looked way too enticing! There were so many pies... pecan, coconut, peanut butter. I would've got a pie if I wasn't headed to the beach. Brownie is being saved for later after a big ole nap in the sun.

The food was an OK. My pulled pork had a smoky taste but was definitely dry. In a state known for pork BBQ, this was average at best. The slaw, however, tasted very fresh and was not mayonnaisey ; I liked it. The hand-cut fries were OK, but would have been excellent if they had been hot. My dining companion's burger was cooked as requested and she thought it was very good. Service was OK, but definitely not overly attentive. Compared to prices down the road in Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head, the restaurant is a good value. Based on our experience, BJ's Carolina Cafe mainly caters to a local crowd. All in all, it's fine, especially if it's nearby or on your way to/from Outer Banks.
