I've only used a tree service one other time . Josh the owner came out within 48 hours just like promised and gave me an estimate to take town two trees. We decided to go with him and his crew . They showed up on time and did a great job , didn't leave a mess. Josh was outstanding. Thanks ! read more

They showed up exactly when they said they would. The 50 year old maple in our front yard reached over our house, driveway, sidewalk and rose bushes and near power lines and a young tree. They took it down carefully and never once did a branch or log hit anything but the lawn. After they removed all the wood they had our lawn cleared of any trace of the work. Josh showed up the next morning when he said he would to grind the stump so we can plant this spring. I would highly recommend this company. The qoute was very fair and I feel they went above and beyond. read more

I met this company at the 2025 Fall Home and Garden Show at the Chico Fair grounds. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the company and their workers. Came out gave me a fair bid on tree and bush removal as well as beautifying my land scape afterwards. They showed up on time ready to work and brought everything they needed to do the job and completed in one day. They were polite and respected my property. read more

Tree of Eden is a wonderful company - I highly recommend Joshua and crew. They recently did some stump grinding and pruned my favorite Crape Myrtle trees. Their stump grinder is an amazing high tech monster that chewed through my 45 year old tree stump in minutes. Their team was professional, fast and efficient. They cleaned up every last twig from my yard. I was happy to discover Joshua started an organization called Chain Breakers that helps people break free from addiction and choose a better life. When you use Tree of Eden you support a company that gives people in Chico a helping hand to better themselves. What a great bonus! read more

The absolute best! Joshua and his crew were just great. We had multiple branches tangled up in utility lines as well as dangerous branches over the driveway. The guys arrived on time with their awesome spider lift and got right to work. They found some hollow branches (huge tree ) and removed them too. He diagnosed the tree as having only a few more years to live. I appreciate that information and he's an arborist so I trust his opinion especially regarding safety. The whole job took less than 2 hours. Price was totally fair and they left my yard spotless. read more

Joshua was professional and the tree was saved for many more years. Great work and clean yard.

We had several large trees removed and our redwoods (20'ish) all trimmed. Josh and his crew were prompt and worked efficiently to get the job done quickly. The crew was friendly and even did some additional trimming and removal we decided to have done after they arrived. I would HIGHLY recommend Josh & his crew. They were all very experienced in their trade! Josh runs a tight ship and kept his guys moving to finish a large job before days end. I appreciate that in a business owner. read more

I have never written a bad review as I have always been able to work things out with people until now. My contractor recommended this company to cut down two big trees. I was off the property and had left money for them. It turns out they "did not have the right saw" and promised to come back the next day to finish the work. Which never happened. I've been trying for months to at least get a portion of my money back, which they have agreed to send but never have. They are very hard to get a hold of. And obviously cannot be trusted. I hope they get themselves together, but my contractor will never recommend them again and neither would I. read more

Tree of Eden - Tree Services Near Me - Chico, California

We used Trees of Eden to remove several trees in our yard. They got the job done in a week like they quoted and we paid the amount they originally quoted for all trees. During their work here a limb from a tree they were working on took the top of a tree closer to our house. The top knocked a few shingles off and hit our gutter causing a part of it to separate from the house. The tree company wanted to fix it themselves. We said we wanted a quote from someone who works with gutters and roofs. We did just that and Trees of Eden took that off our bill. We found out after they were done on a day we weren't home while they were working that a tree, the top of the tree landed in our neighbors yard crushing his toolbox and bucket he uses in his garden. The tree company didn't tell us, our neighbor did. We gave our neighbor the tree company's number, he called and nothing has been done about it. We called ourselves for a response, no response. Lesson learned, stay home on all days work is being done in your yard. We have more trees in our yard that needing some trimming, we will not be using Trees of Eden read more

I had Joshua remove three of my very large pine trees. His team was professional, prompt, and did a great job. They cleaned my yard after they were finished...it's like they were never there! Their prices were very reasonable. I will definitely be using them again read more

A year ago I hired Joshua and his company to remove a redwood tree and grind the stump at my mother in laws house. In the process the lift truck damaged the road when 2 of its stabilizers put large indents in the asphalt. Joshua assured me that he would take care of the repairs. He put some patch in the indents and left saying he had to do it in layers. He never came back. The HOA contacted me shortly after and said that patching was not OK and that the asphalt had to be cut out and repaired professionally. Joshua also told me that I had to contact 811 to mark the utility lined before he could grind the stump. When I called I was told that the company doing the work had to call. I called Tree of Eden back and informed them of the that fact and that they needed to have the road repairs done correctly. A week later the lines were marked but Joshua never came back to grind the stump. I was forced to hire a company to repair the road as my HOA was going to sue me. I documented the multiple bids and invoice for the repairs and mailed to the business but the they came back s not received. I then in October went to the Home and Garden show and handed the packet of documentation to them but his wife sat the table just got mad and through the packet in the corner. I have heard nothing from them since. Now I have to go through the hassle of the small claims process to get reimbursed for the road repairs. Joshua seemed like a nice guy and was the cheaper estimate of the job at the time. Just be ware that when they made a mistake and did property damage they were no where to be found and refused to remedy the situation after I contacted them. read more

Skilled and knowledgeable owner and certified arborist, Joshua, provided a reasonable estimate, and completed the job as promised. His crew was professional and polite. They cleaned up after themselves. Our job had a lot of detail work on very large trees as well as some smaller trees. Needed a couple trees cut down and one trimmed. In the past I had worked with a couple of the larger local companies and was disappointed with the high prices and the mess.damage they left. Got several estimates from smaller companies and chose Tree of Eden because they had a good price and said they would be available a few days later. Showed up on time for both the estimate and the actual job. They were very professional, did the requested work, cleaned up the job site, and overall did a great job. Very happy I chose this company, will use them again, and highly recommend Tree of Eden. read more

Reliable, experienced, fast, friendly, thorough, and reasonably priced. Last windstorm brought 40 feet of redwood down into our yard. Tree of Eden brought a full crew to clean up downed portion, reconfigured remaining tree, and made expert work of remaining large redwoods with double tops. Cleaned all areas and removed existing downed branches. Watching them work was amazing--true professionals! Donated redwood chips to the local school, too. Wow! Highly recommend! read more

Thank you for helping us with a tree we thought was going to have to be taken doen This company cares about the tree. Just had my 45-50 foot Chinese hackberry tree trimmed. Tree of Eden did a fantastic job, they were on time, efficient and did a masterful job. My tree went from an overgrown liability to a sleek, balanced beauty. When they finished their magic they cleaned up everything. I've already scheduled another job, thank you. I highly recommen them. read more

The guys were very friendly, super quick to schedule, and knowledgable about trees...but...we hired them to remove a 70(ish) foot pine tree that wasn't healthy. In the process of cutting it, they knocked several branches off of a nearby tree, to the point that there are very few branches on that side of the tree. They also knocked off a large branch of a peach tree that was a good 20 feet away. And they left a pine tree branch super high up in a tall tree and it isn't something we can remove and they knew it was there while they had their bucket truck and did not remove it. Anyway, if you have one tree in your yard and nothing to destroy, then they are probably going to do a fine job. Otherwise, pay a bit more money and hire someone else who will take care to try and avoid surrounding trees. read more

Our landlord asked us to assist in gathering quotes for tree service (cut 2 ornamental cherry(?) trees back so our car & walkway weren't "decorated" any longer with the fruit that it so freely gave.) and to remove a tree in our back yard. It had been planted when the development was built but was in danger of dropping pretty sturdy branches in 3 separate yards. We got several quotes & decided to go with Tree of Eden. They were very competitive in pricing and their appearance in Best of Chico sealed the deal. Josh Guy arrived with 2 employees exactly on time. He quickly reviewed the quote/work to be done and got to work. He was thoughtful to apprise me of his intent to work in the back, so I could let my dogs out to go potty. Work was done quickly and thoroughly, and I stepped outside to find my sidewalk had been swept clean of the ever-present leaves that seem to have come pre-installed with the house We couldn't be happier with the work that Tree of Eden did and we definitely recommend them to anyone wanting a professional & detailed service that's a delight from request for quote to project completion. read more

Good luck getting a hold of them. Good luck getting them to stick to their word (even when you have it in writing). Good luck getting them to call you back within weeks of your attempts to contact them. I understand people get busy, so I gave them a lot of leeway when I attempted to contact them for a quote and then for service. We only got a hold of them because our neighbor was using their services and asked them to get a quote for us the same time they were out do quote the neighbor. So great, got the quote. It was supposed to be $750 for the service we wanted. Scheduling didn't go smoothly as they didn't return calls or emails. At all. I tried multiple times. So when they finally made it out for the neighbor's house, they apologized and said they'd be happy to fulfill the quote we got on our trees. Great, I just wanted the job done! The owner tells me "It'll be $1000", I agree (because the quote went to my husband and I didn't know the previous amount discussed), and they do the job. They also cut into our sprinkler pipe while grinding a stump, so that's another cost out of our pocket to clean up their mess... So, they quoted us $250 cheaper to do the job, came out as a surprise (almost, very little notice), and we couldn't get a hold of them to speak about the discrepancy in the bill or anything else. Not a great experience. The owner and his worker were nice enough, hence the extra star. I really should have listened to my instincts and not hired them when they can't even return a phone call or email. If they're dodging you, take the hint. read more

I had them cut down the 11 trees that could potentially fall in the street. They fell them in the street and blocked half the road with them just put out a cone. I didn't get too excited because you could still get by on one side. They stayed like that for more than a month. I called them about getting the trees taken away and they said they would follow up. After more than another month, they ended up in the ditch down by the street. They must have been in the way of some big piece of equipment. So I called Tree of Eden again and they have never returned my call. I can't deal with a company that doesn't follow up with problems or return calls. I will probably have to pay for someone to haul these away now. Not happy. read more

Josh and his crew showed up(early) with the big boom truck and the big chipper and the saws started buzzing. My three 40+ year old mulberry's needed a huge trim, and that is what they got! My property had five very overgrown trees, with large branches from two trees hanging over the roof and branches from another tree hanging over the power line. I asked Joshua for an estimate after watching the good work he had done taking down some big pines for my neighbor. His estimate was about the same as everyone else, maybe a little cheaper. I choose Joshua and his crew because he himself was going to be on the job. The larger tree companies give you a bid, then one of their crews show up to do the work. Having the owner on the job was important to me because Joshua knew exactly what I had in mind for the job. It was an all-day job because several of the large branches had to be cut into sections then lowered to the ground with ropes. At all times the crew was respectful of the my property, careful not to damage my plants. If you want a tree removed, or have your trees trimmed, or just want a stump ground out, then give Tree of Eden a call and get an estimate. I think you'll be please with the price and the quality of his work. I was. read more

Very frustrated with this company. We had a couple places come out and give a quote. I met them all at a local garden/home show. We were most impressed all the way around with the owner Josh and his great ladies at the home show. His price quotewas right where we expected. The tree that needed trimming is HUGE! It is a pecan tree right behind the house. My husband was there during the day while the crew was there working (works swing shift, left at 3pm). Unfortunately he had to leave for work. Prior to leaving he noticed the crew had taken out a couple pieces of the fence on the property line. The guy in charge offered to take a little money off the bill when approached. My husband left a check, paid in full, minus the discount to fix the fence. When he went out to check things out the next morning it looked like they packed up and left as soon as he did. Our tree is now 2/3 trimmed, and lopsided. Not only was the fence broken, but so were several boards on the deck, and they completely destroyed a section of the sprinkler system including a head and piping. The least of our complaints was them offering to leave some wood chips, which we thought was great, they only left about a five gallon bucket worth . I attempted calling several times, asking them to return my call to work out some sort of compromise, no response. I tried emailing, no response. We are reasonable, rational people. I have worked in the service industry for years. I have been that lady taking a call from a frustrated customer. I have tried for almost a year to get some sort of response - crickets! So don't be me. Make sure you stay the whole time they are there, and watch them...cause once they are paid and they leave you will never hear from them again... read more

Tree of Eden did a fantastic job removing two trees in my backyard. Josh came out and gave me a free estimate and advised me about how to keep my irrigation from getting damaged by the tree removal, even if he did not do the work. The guys were prompt, courteous, and cleaned everything up, even swept the sidewalk! And, they did not let my dog out of the yard!!! Thank you! I really appreciate the great price too. Josh matched a competitive bid that was $50 more than his bid, and did not give me the "stink eye" I told him the bid difference. I like that Josh offered an additional discount if I did not have him haul away the wood. No one else offered that in their bids. I really felt like Josh cared about my property and that I was happy. He is a great guy and his wife Cammy is friendly and fun to talk when setting up the appointment. I am hardly ever completely satisfied with these kind of services in Chico because some take short cuts. Josh took no short cuts; my house was safe, my trees are down, and I'm about as happy as I can be. Thanks! read more

Very nice people but they had a lot of problems getting the job done and didn't clean up very well, damaged my garage and didn't tell me, and left large logs that I had to deal with. I also had to call them several times to get them out to finish. Don't think I'd use them again. read more

They came with a request to cut two trees and trim the other trees so that the branches would not interfere with my satellite. They did a good job cutting there trees and some of the branches and a decent enough job cleaning up after themselves but:they trimmed only one side of the offending branch and when I called to ask them to return and trim the other branch, telling them I did not expect them to do it for free they did not return my calls. I did receive a call saying Joshua was out of town in Texas picking up some equipment and would call when he got back in town. He did not and when i called again I was only able to leave messages which were never returned. Called North valley tree service to take care of the problem. read more
