I spent six months searching for a truly exceptional, ancient olive tree for my property in Napa. I visited seven different vendors across Napa and Sonoma, but none of them had what I was looking for. Many were simply reselling trees from distant orchards at premium prices, and nothing felt right. Eventually, I learned that the real capital of ancient olive trees in California is Corning, CA. I made two trips up there, looked at hundreds of trees, and met several vendors. That's when I discovered 20th Century Olive Trees and met Todd and Cruz. I'm so glad I kept searching. Their orchard is stunning. It's home to a large inventory of 100+ year-old olive trees that have been growing in place for over a century. Todd and Cruz were welcoming, knowledgeable, and patient. They let me tour the orchard multiple times and answered all my questions (I had many) about the history, condition, and health of the trees I was considering. Once I selected a magnificent specimen, an 11,000-pound beauty, Cruz handled the preparation with true professionalism. I had a crane scheduled to plant the tree the same day it arrived in Napa, so timing was critical. Todd personally drove the tree down and arrived right on time. With Todd, crane and my arborist all on site, the planting went perfectly. The arborist even commented on how expertly the tree had been prepped and transported. I could go on, but I'll just say this: if you're looking for a trophy olive tree, don't waste time elsewhere. Six stars to Todd, Cruz, and 20th Century Olive Trees. They are the best.
