They also removed a dozen trees, some smaller, some larger. They did excellent work, at a great price. Fast forward two years, we had an enormous limb fall on top of our house. We were fortunate nobody was hurt. We called Robert and he rearranged his schedule to help us out. He was out the next day, and we had the whole spar removed. It was clear that the remaining tree was not safe. Robert and his crew professionally removed the tree. I was impressed - this was a dangerous, incredibly tall tree, with hazards on every side - no problem for them. The price was great for the work, and they also dropped the firewood off for us as requested. I have high praises for Robert and his crew. We will call him whenever we have tree work. I highly recommend Robert Tompkins Tree Service!

We just bought the house and at the time, didn't know the roof needed to be replaced, which they told us about when they got here. I asked for a quote to replace the roof, and being in construction my entire career, I was dismayed when they went out to their truck and came back with a number written on the back of their business card. No materials specified, no questions I had were adequately answered, see attached business card quote. Id never accept this as a valid quote. I spoke with the office today (owner's wife, also says she was owner) and she talked over me, wouldn't listen, was incredibly rude and unprofessional. I would never recommend this company for anything. She said she pulled two guys off a job and drove 2 hours to get to Redding from Red Bluff (?) And I told her then she should not have taken the job. Regardless, the unprofessionalism from start to finish is actually surprising.

We contracted for four full tree removals including stump grinding plus an additional stump, but only 4 of the 5 stumps were ground. Additionally, the stumps that were addressed were only ground to the surface level and then covered over. We work in property management, and I have never had a professional tree company leave stumps ground only at the surface or concealed with debris. Industry standard is to grind stumps below grade, typically 6-12 inches, especially for properties that will be landscaped or maintained. Our regular vendors always grind stumps below grade. As for the fifth stump, we were told it would be taken care of, but despite follow‑ups, Ivan is no longer responding. If you need a tree guy in nor cal, keep looking
