They were prompt to get us scheduled and showed up on time. They checked out our leak, traced it back and did the fix quickly. They will come back after a rain to verify the fix then complete the billing. read more

I have used this company for my roofing needs for more than 20 years. They have done full roof replacements on 4 houses as well as regular repairs and emergencies. They have done thorough inspections, made excellent suggestions, repaired structural damage and installed gutters. I highly recommend Affordable JCRoofing! read more

The company came out more than a few times, and other businesses were complaining about their job. I hired a civil engineer for my kitchen and he noticed the roof was not right. He told me to fix it before I get mold. That was in early January 2023. Thursday, January 19, a roofing specialist came to fix the water problem, and he pointed out, "my metal potion of my roof is trapping water and it's growing mold". My gutters were dirty when I had my gutters replaced; And, so were my downspouts. On my quote, they said they were going to clean them. They never did. I hope they fix the metal potion of the roof. read more

Honest, on time and hard working! Definitely recommend. Returned my call in a few hours and had someone one out in 2 days and very thorough.

Last Dec 2021 JC Roofing put a tarp on my 3000 sq ft house. I paid them $1200.00. I was told that JC Roofing would do the necessary paper work to finance the new roof through the financing where I had been approved. After calling them time after time they did not do the paper work. The cheap plastic that used to tarp the house disintegrated and has been flying all over the neighborhood for 6 months. They will not come and get it off my roof. They came once and got it off the electrical wires and left a big ball on my roof. I am an 80 yr old widow who is up on the roof attempting to clean up some of the mess. Further more the damaged my house with nails and screws and tarped over the gutter read more

Last minute right before a storm we realized we had a leak! We called JC roofing and Julio had a few folks out within the hour to secure the roof for the storm. After it passed, they came right back to do the repair! Such a sense of security knowing we had Such a reliable roofer to help us out! read more

Affordable Roofing came through for me. Very responsive to my phone calls or text messages. Professional services. Very fast and neat. My roof looks amazing and he even gave me a great deal on my seamless gutters. Hands down I am very pleased with everything all the way through the cleanup. Thank you so much and I look forward to my next roofing project. read more

J.C. put a new roof on the home I moved into in 2010. We upgraded to 50 year shingles and asked for the best underlayment. In the spring of 2018 I called and asked if he could look at one spot where I noticed mold growing on the bedroom ceiling. After I showed him his paperwork from 2010 he said he would take care of it. He claimed he did something, but I saw no evidence of worm. He stopped showing up or returning my calls. In late 2018 we came home from vacation to find that leak plus 3 more on two additional slopes of the roof and the livingroom and spare bedroom ceilings falling down. I wouldn't trust JC with a roof. It may look good when you first get it ... take a good look at my profile pic now. read more

I called on friday to get an estimate to clean my gutters and down spouts, the guy said he would be out on saturday morning, I waited all day and he never showed up or even called. Very disappointed and would not recommend them. Roxanna read more

We use to like JC Roofing, because originally he really took care of us, but now my husband has been calling to get something fixed that may have been caused previously and he will never call my husband back. read more

Very pleased with the customer service offered by Julio and his employees. My quote from JC was competitive and work was completed on time. While we did have a couple issues after the new roof was installed, these issues were resolved unbelievably quickly. I would hire JC Roofing again. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Needed roof repairs obviously. Called JC on a Friday for a Monday morning meeting at 9 am. He never showed. Called multiple times and once I got through, they didn't even try to give an excuse. A person came to the house on Tuesday and just started working on it. All I wanted was a quote. Didn't even introduce himself or anything. So I'm like, screw it, it needs fixed. Guy worked about a half day then just left. Left stuff everywhere. Didn't clean up his mess. Didn't tell us what was done, what needed to be done, if there was more to do or anything. I call, owner says he'll talk to the guy. Owner says needs another half day of work. I never see them again. Won't answer my texts or calls. I left a message stating do not try to bill me. Beware people. Get before and after pics, have them leave you a detailed detailed list and cost of the work that was done and the equipment that was purchased. Shady company full of shady men. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. read more

We had been looking for someone to install gutters. I set up an appointment with this guy twice and he no showed the first time. We decided to give it another go and set up another appointment for an estimate and he no showed again. I will say that he was very nice on the phone but if you are not going to show up for scheduled appointments the least you could do is call or text. We ended up going with Lowe's to get our rain gutters installed after being blown off not once BUT TWICE by this dude. Would not recommend. read more

Best roofing company! Working with Julio and his crew was a pleasure. Julio offers the best in professionalism and price. I interviewed four roofing companies and Affordable JC Roofing topped them all. I couldn't have been happier with his communication on product choices, details of the quote, scheduling, installation and the time frame for completion. My recommendation is that you call Julio when you need a quote for a new roof...you'll be glad you did. Five Stars! read more

I needed a new roof on my home in Magalia and Affordable J. C. Roofing was recommended by Home Advisor. Julio came out right away and I had my estimate online very quickly. Julio also called me to go over the estimate and answer any questions I might have. I told him I would get back to him as I was waiting on other estimates. I received 4 estimates from different contractors in the area. Affordable J. C. Roofing was the most comprehensive and the lowest price. I weighed all the reviews because some were not very good for any of the contractors and decided to go with Affordable and Julio. I have to admit getting started was a little slow. Affordable J. C. Roofing is not a huge business, Julio does all the office paper work, contacting, and scheduling and permit work. Summer plus the fire has made the work load very hectic. I noticed that with all the companies I contacted. One estimate took a 1 1/2 months to get. I did have to keep calling for a start date but once the work began and the work crews showed up at my house I was very impressed. The removal crew had the roof stripped in no time at all and everything was cleaned up and ready for material and install by the end of the day. The new 30 year roof was installed with every detail that was described in the estimate by the end of the week. Such a beautiful job. I had my final inspection permit 2 days later. Flashing 5 existing skylights and installing 2 new skylights was also part of the project. I couldn't be happier. A few extra phone calls was well worth the effort and savings. read more

Julio called me about setting up an appointment to meausure my roof for a total replacement and bid..I called the next day and he said he would let me know a day and time that he could be over ..He never called me back so after 5 times calling him he told me he would get back to me and he never did..I am not sure I would trust a company that keeps putting you off and never showing up.That is pretty bad service if you ask me.. read more

Finally a contractor who takes pride in his work! We purchased a rental house that needed a complete new roof and also wanted to elevate the pitch in one area and add skylights. We live 500 miles away so we were a little worried if the job would get done properly. Julio was great to work with. He was dependable and called daily and emailed photos to follow up. His quote was very competitive and now that we have had the opportunity to fly out and see the end result, we can see that the quality of the work is superb. I would highly recommend Julio and his crew at Affordable JC Roofing! read more

He went over to one of our rentals that had an issue with the roof very promptly and checked out the damage to the roof, then we NEVER heard back. We've emailed and called him multiple times requesting our quote and have yet to see it over a month later. He is unprofessional, doesn't return messages or emails, doesn't follow through. This makes us wonder if he will finish the job if we ever hired him. We can't trust our rentals to someone like that. read more

We have a roof issue that we are trying to have repaired before the rainy season starts, and have reached out to Affordable JC Roofing four times via phone and email over a three week period, and never heard back. The website says that they handle jobs of any size, including small jobs, but it seems like they don't like to bother with smaller projects. Like other one star reviews, the lack of communication feels very unprofessional, and I can't recommend someone who can't return a call or email. read more

Couldn't be happier with my new roof! Julio was very professional and reliable. He constantly updated me on the progress, great communication and easy to understand estimate & contract. Totally recommend this company! read more

Affordable JC Roofing has been my roofer for over ten years. My company owns a large commercial office building and I used other roofers in town before meeting Julio. The roof's over 40,000 sq ft. and a huge investment. After Julio and his company started maintaining our roof we knew he was "the man". We couldn't be happier. They also installed a new roof for us. When the rains, I sleep well knowing JC Roofing is looking out for the property. Sorry I didn't get this written earlier, I'm new to yelp. Thanks so much Julio and Affordable J.C. Roofing! read more

Absolutely 100% satisfaction here. I had 3 bids, one of them was sky high, the other two were about the same, including Julio's. I chose Julio because his estimate included every action they would take on the roof and the brand name of the materials used. He also included a clause that said that replacing rotted boards in the framework would not exceed $300. They ended up replacing definitely more than that amount, but my final bill was the original estimate - in other words the rotted wood was bought and replaced for free. I am using him to do roofing on another property in the near future. read more

Julio and his team did a terrific job. Urban Solar put our solar up after Affordable JC roofing completed the new roof on our barn and they even said - "wow, they did a great job. We see a lot of roofs and I want you to know, they did a really good job." Julio is polite, helpful, professional and I couldn't be happier. His quote was competitive and he was on time and completed within the time I needed for the solar to go up.Thank you for my new roof. I will use you again. read more

Had a similar experience as a previous reviewer. Called, and they were great about sending someone out the same day to take a look at my roof. Was told Julio would call me with an estimate. I let two days pass with no call, so I took the initiative to call. He offered to drop off my estimate that day or email it to me, and I asked for him to drop it off. Said he would be by at 3. Never showed, never called. I tried contacting to say if it's easier, just email me. Nothing. So unprofessional. This is the second roofing company that I've had little to no response from - apparently these people don't have any interest in getting some business. read more

Julio and his crew were prompt and took care of the issue right away. We had a leak in our skylight evident after a good couple of days of rain. I called him the next day, and in a matter of hours on the weekend, he was at my house inspecting. He had the estimate available the next day on a Sunday! With rain in the forecast on Wednesday, he was out early Tuesday morning and was able to research the skylight, as well as taking the initiative to seal all flashings, storm collars, and roof jacks. He took the time to take pictures of the issue and explain what work was done, being very respectful of a female customers hesitation due to being unfamiliar with roofing terminology and composition. I highly recommend them, as they were prompt and professional. They were the only roofing company that not only responded back, but were available on weekends as well as 24 hours a day. Thanks for you professionalism, reliability, and great customer service! read more

Affordable JC Roofing is the BEST roofing company in Chico, and I have used many local roofing companies as a building owner. Once I found Julio over 10 years I wouldn't consider even calling anyone else. Affordable JC Roofing replaced a roof on my commercial building and his workmanship as always was impeccable. The job was completed on time, as promised, with the best of materials at a fair price. As far as repairs go, I rely on Julio as he goes the extra mile; roof leaks don't happen on a schedule he's always right there when you need him, ASAP. I highly recommend Julio Castillo and Affordable JC Roofing for ALL your residential and commercial roofing repair and replacement needs. I am just passing along a great find. read more

Complete flakes & very unprofessional. They were recommended by HomeAdvisor so I called them. They answered the phone, seemed nice enough & then asked if they could call right back. He never did. I waited a couple of days & called him back. We set up an appointment for him to come look at our roof & work up an estimate. He said he would call that day when he got closer, but never did. We're in the middle of a re-fi, I'm busy, 3 weeks go by & I'm finding it's hard to find people willing to work in Willows as most people are based in Chico. I don't know why I gave them a third chance. but I did & made the appointment through HomeAdvisor's site directly. JC Roofing did call the next day to confirm the appointment on my answering machine. I called them back & left a message confirming it again. They actually called my husband the morning of & spoke to him, giving him a time frame for certain that they'd be here on the appointment day, then NO SHOWED! read more

My grandma made an appointment to get an estimate for our flat roof. The appointment was for 11 am. We waited about an hour to see if anyone was showing up. Well we called around 12:25 pm. Well a man answered and said his dad was coming out. Well we waited and called again. Now they're not answering their phones either. Very unprofessional to miss an appointment with a potential client, and not answering/ avoiding our phone calls. Very disappointed and will not being doing business with a company like this. If they're unprofessional like this.. I could only imagine what type of work they do! read more
