From first contact to final cleanup, everyone at About Trees was friendly, attentive, timely, professional and accommodating. Our arborist, Randy, took time to discuss in detail, what was best for the trees while simultaneously balancing his recommendations with our end desires. At my request, he personally supervised the work and maintained consultation with me throughout the progression. Byron and the crew were efficient and professional while also maintaining communication with Randy. Nicole, the office manager was accommodating and attentive in executing the contract while Lindsey, the administrative assistant, coordinated it all very quickly and efficiently and acted as go-between to promptly schedule the project in precisely the fashion I requested. The result was a highly satisfying and expertly executed result for my project. I highly recommend About Trees for your project. read more

A big shout out to crew number three from about trees for their excellent work and great customer service today. Eugene and his crew from about trees were friendly, very professional and definitely went the extra mile with the work they did on our trees. Cleaned up afterwards and left The yard looking as well as before they started the job. My wife and I were both very pleased with their work and they're very good Customer Service! Would definitely recommend them to friends and family. read more

We unfortunately had to remove a giant (90-100 foot) 48" diameter hackberry tree that was growing up against our house. It was a huge job and the homes in our neighborhood are 15 feet apart so there is very little space to maneuver. Orlando, Dave, Kyle, Jarrod, Ernie, Alex and Ray did great work and were a very considerate crew. I would absolutely use them again and recommend them to anyone. read more

What an amazing business. All the staff are wonderful but Eugene is the best! Recommend for all your tree needs!

We had a fantastic experience with About Trees from start to finish. They came out to give us an estimate and were very clear about the work and pricing, and were also able to tell us "this is what you should do" rather than depending on "what we wanted". Example - we have a silver dollar eucalyptus that needed attention but we really had no clue what made sense for this beautiful mature tree to stay healthy. They knew and made it straight forward. Communication was great, and scheduling was easy and quick. The crew arrived on time, was super professional, got everything done exactly as discussed, and cleaned everything up perfectly. Our front and back yards look great!! read more

Had a great experience with the company and the employees. Crew #1, Orlando, Pablo, Traver and Ernie did a great job on the pruning and made sure I was happy with their work. I would recommend them for your tree service. Thanks! read more

We just had our trees trimmed and the staff were so wonderful! They were so thorough, thoughtful, and kind! They cleaned all the leaves off our lawn (its Autum so it is not their fault the leaves were down). We had cut some small trees in our side yard and have been slowly dismantling them into our bins over time, and they took care of them- not because they were in the way they just did. It was so nice! They really took into consideration our yard when they were hired to just trim trees. The trees look fabulous and we will definitely be calling them again! Highly recommend. read more

About Trees did an awesome job. We had 4 very messy trees and an out of place palm on the street side of the fence removed and our mature tree in the front needed pruning. They were efficient and cleaned up all the mess afterwards. read more

These guys were great. They took my fence down to move their lift machine on tracks to cut my mess of a huge mulberry tree in my backyard. I'm so pleased! Good price as well! $900 cheaper than 2 other companies that are well known. They cut & cleaned up. Tree looks awesome!! Thank you! read more

About Trees does excellent work. They trimmed back my neighbors trees and did a wonderful job. This is my second time working with them, I am very happy with their work. read more

Being a single lady, Im super aware of being taken advantage of . Certainly did not feel that happened with About Trees. Alex, an arborist, came out to look at what I needed done, trim one huge bottle brush, take out, grind stump of one half dead tree, and grind down a stump of a Pomegranite tree. They wore protective gear, knew how to handle the equipment, got right to work, and cleaned up. They were knowledgeable and were anxious to satisfy my requirements. Pricing was reasonable! Will recommend them whenever I can. read more

Prices are amazing. They give an EXACT word for word invoice of what work will be done. So, there is no miscommunication. If you are ever confused about it, you can always call their front office and the ladies are very informative. Everyone is professional and very polite. read more

Excellent experience and quality of work with About Trees. Over the years, multiple arborists have helped us with tree removal and pruning, and About Trees is at the top of service we have received. To start, About Trees was punctual in returning our call which wasn't the case with any of the other tree companies that we called. Alex was professional when he showed up to give us our bid, as was his crew throughout the rather large project of removing a gigantic redwood tree that was encroaching on our pool. The price for all was reasonable considering the large crew and all the required high tech equipment, and far less than the quote from our "regular" arborist who did us a "favor" coming out to make a bid for a project that he couldn't get to until Fall. read more

Very nice people and good at what they do when they do it, but very poor at communication, especially in-house. The job was to remove a large Ponderosa snag on our lot in Magalia, plus the top that had blown out in a storm. Also, they were to cut down two large cedars that were threatening the phone line. We paid up front, then they did part of the job, the cedars and the blown out top. The snag they cut down but left on the property. Several phone calls later, over several weeks, during which I sent the office manager a photo of the snag so the crew understood what was needed, they finally scheduled to come back to finish the job - take out the Ponderosa snag which still lying on the ground where they'd cut it. However, when we got home on the work day the crew hadn't touched the snag, but had loaded up the two cedars, which had been cut to stove length, and taken them away. I was going to use these trees for firewood. Scott was sorry and promised he'd bring me some firewood in return. In the mean time, the snag was still there. Finally, after more phone calls they removed the snag, but I never heard back from Scott about the firewood. I texted him at the end of October about this, but he never replied, and apparently doesn't intend to. Like all the other reviews here, I agree that when the crews show up they are courteous and hard working. But in this case the whole job took several months and ended up costing us two mature cedar trees worth of firewood, so I would be cautious. We won't be using them again. read more

Scott was brought in by Artistic Landscape to assess the removal of a Blue Oak, topping 7 Italian Cypress, grinding stumps, and removing 3 large Date Palms. The crew arrived, did their job, cleaned up, returned the next day for further clean up and left. They were personable, careful, professional. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!! I am extremely particular. The investment was reasonable and fair. read more

I so appreciate their knowledge of trees and honest feedback. We were actually told that our tree should not be trimmed back at this time. They were more concerned about the health of our tree than getting money from us. How often with a business does this happen anymore. Thank you read more

This has got to be the sloppiest tree company I've ever seen! very unprofessional field workers that don't seem to care.

Looked at a lot of companies on Yelp for removal of two small trees. About trees was very responsive and a little less than two other quotes I received. Great work, cleaned up everything and very easy to work with. Highly recommend them and will be using them again for any arborist services in the future. Thank you! read more

These guys ROCK! This is the second time we've used them. First time was to trim and remove several trees at the house we had just purchased. This time was to remove a tree that had broken in one of the recent wind storms (into neighbors yard). As always, they were prompt, courteous and did a great job! I highly recommend them. read more

We have been dealing with About Trees for over 8 years. They do wonderful work, reasonably priced. We get our large trees trimmed every other year and have had several old, dead trees removed. They are on time, have a great crew, do the job as expected and a great job cleaning up. We recently had a large pecan removed, stump grinding and putting in new tree in one day. Great job. Leah in the office is always helpful. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ALL ABOUT TREES. read more

We've used About Trees several times and have always been very satisfied with the results, whether pruning a tree or removing a tree. Their prices are very competitive and the work professional. Their workers are always courteous, happy to answer questions and let us watch them do their magic! I'm happy to refer them to friends and clients! read more

Fantastic experience, we couldn't be more pleased with the whole process! From the sales guy to the crew who came out, everything was delivered as promised. The price was more than fair, the guys showed up on time and worked hard all day and left my yard looking like they were never hear(minus the missing trees) I will always recommend this company for any tree related needs in the future! 5 stars is not enough!! read more

We used About Trees twice. They seem to have good prices and mostly did a good job. The poor review is for two different miscommunications, the second with very sad consequences. The first job they did for us, we thought we agreed to removal of a large dead branch from a tall tree. However, when the crew arrived, without the arborist who had given us the quote, they told us that the removal of that branch was not included in the work order. The work order was vaguely written. We ended up paying an extra $100 for removal of that branch, but didn't think too much of it and resolved to be more specific in later requests. The second time, they did a number of other things on the property. We had asked them to lop off one rogue tall branch that was sticking out from the top of our grapefruit tree (we don't own a pole saw). When they did all the work, they didn't remove the branch. When we pointed it out, again reiterating by phone what we wanted, they agreed to do it later. They showed up when we weren't around, and instead of just lopping off the one rogue branch, they took off approximately 2/3 of the tree - all of the lower branches, and thinning all the upper branches horribly. About 80% of the fruit was lost. A beautiful, giant, lush, shaggy productive tree was reduced to a tidy, spindly sad little thing. The branches are now so exposed and leafless that I might have to paint them to prevent sun scald - citrus trees are not meant to be thinned like that. I was absolutely heartbroken. When I was calm enough to call the company a week later, the woman on the phone didn't apologize; she just argued with me. It turned out that the arborist had again written down the instructions vaguely on the work order, lumping our grapefruit into a list of other trees that were to be pruned and thinned. That was frustrating as I had made it very clear on 3 different occasions what I wanted. My grapefruit tree will never recover, as all the lower branches have been cut off and they won't grow back. I'm so sad about that tree. I'll never use About Trees again. read more

I would highly recommend About Trees to anyone needing tree work done. I contacted About Trees for an estimate and I was immediately impressed when Alex came out. He was very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Nicole in the office was great, she responded back to my emails quickly and made the payment process a breeze. When the crew showed up they were friendly and efficient. They did a great job, I will most definitely be calling About Trees for any future projects that come up. read more

About Trees provided a perfect experience. From Jenna at the business end, to the nine man crew that manicured my forest, they were as efficient and knowledgeable a group as I've ever seen. They worked quickly and confidently, and were willing and able to explain the process as they went along. Their arborist, Jared, knew everything about my trees. Ever heard of an oracle oak? Neither had I, but it turns out I have a couple. If you need tree work done, you won't find a better company than About Trees. read more

Five stars. I needed major canopy work. Arborist Rob came out to provide an estimate, and the work was scheduled for a few days later. Rob came with the crew and reviewed the work to be done. The new did a great job, checked in with me, and cleaned up afterwards. Highly recommended! read more

This is a committed local professional company. They are here to do the job safely and correct. Well about trees came out and trimmed my trees cuz the neighbors trees are hanging over my fence and the neighbor paid for their trees to be trimmed. It was not an easy process and their receptionist needs a course in customer service but I'll tell you what the guys who cut the trees were very kind cleaned up behind themselves and did a fantastic job I couldn't be happier! read more

We have a large Camphor tree at the entrance of the Boys & Girls Club here in Chico. While the tree is healthy, it was in need of a trimming. We reached out to About Trees to do the work. It is large tree and the job involved working in a public thoroughfare and right next to our facility. They were timely, professional and thorough. Their crew stayed focused on the task and cleaned up everything. The tree looks great and we couldn't have asked for a better experience start to finish. Thank you About Trees! read more

The highest estimate I had out out of five. When I said high, it was 3 1/2 times higher. The other estimates were for more work then About Trees. Be careful people there are a lot of great services out there. Take your time! read more

Great work, Great clean up, Great Price. That pretty much sums it up. I had used All About Trees 3 or4 times in the last year. Scott has been easy to work with, shows up when says he will be there and gets the job done at the price he quotes. I have referred this company to several others and will continue to use and refer others. Get your bids and give All About Trees a try, you will be happy too. read more

Their estimator came out and gave a very reasonable quote. I told him I wanted the stump removed as well. Then when the office called and I told them I had a $50 coupon, suddenly the stump removal was not included in the quote and the price went up by $100. You figure it out. They denied it but I found it very suspicious that as soon as I mentioned the coupon their quote skyrocketed. read more

This company has come to my property twice to take care of several trees. They show up promptly, get to work right away, and when they leave, it's so cleaned up you can't even tell they were there (except for how much better the trees look!)! The price was very reasonable, especially since the placement of said trees & the difficulty of the property itself is pretty whack! I definitely recommend this company! read more

they are a lousy company. I had problems with scott not once, but twice. I wrote the owner of the company and nothing

About Trees cleared around my house in Oakhurst and they did a great job.. Nicole and Jenna set it up exactly the way I wanted and then Ken and his team did an excellent job clearing, taking care of the sick trees and cleaning up the healthy ones. They did such a great job I asked them to come back and take care of a very bad off black oak. Will use them again. Thanks About Trees. read more

About Trees were recommended to me by a neighbor. I am new to the area so I was seeking a recommendation. To say that I was pleased by their professionalism would be an understatement. They made an appointment to come out to give me an estimate and were on time. They were the low bidder so I awarded them the contract to remove a very large Liquid Amber next to the house. They had to climb the tree and take it down one piece at a time to avoid damaging any property. They did an excellent job in a very short time and cleaned up the area when they were finished. The neighbors were all quite impressed. Scott also recommended a company to remove the stump and all roots and to take the soil level and all sod down 8". They hauled two dump trucks of debris away and also did an excellent job. I would highly recommend Scott and About Trees to anyone that needs to have trees trimmed or removed. read more
