Sadly, our 65' tall Madrona tree died. Through its branches ran our power line and cable TV line. So, I had to coordinate having the power and cable removed temporarily, as well as have the tree cut down. The Madrona wood is a beautiful hardwood, so a furniture company was buying the main trunk and branches, and they had specific requirements for the cutting. Looking for an arborist in the Seattle area, I asked my facebook friends and on LinkedIn, since I had never before hired one (I had acted as one, with my trusty Sawzall!). This was a big and dangerous job. Limbs hung over our house and our neighbor's property. A friend recommended Scott Sinclair of Tree Harmony. He came right over to Lake City the afternoon of my call. I had already gotten several bids, some of which I could have purchased a decent car with for the same money. Another bidder said he'd do the work for a couple hundred dollars, but the prospect of one uninsured man trying to wrestle a huge tree to the ground seemed, well, less than prudent. Scott Sinclair gave me a very good bid price, with all my specific terms included. His team arrived the day of the work and got to work first on trimming another tree, an 80' pine, to improve its appearance, health, and wind resistance. It looked like it had just gotten a nice haircut! The Madrona was next, after waiting for Comcast (that's another story!) to get their line down. Neighbors watched as the men worked. Each huge trunk crashed to the ground with a thud! Their accuracy was amazing. They reduced the tree to the main trunks for the furniture, a stack of firewood to be sold, and a huge pile of chips for me to spread around planters in the yard, and, they cleaned up well. The day after the work was done, I was moving firewood and noticed that there were some long logs in the pile. Turned out, that as the day got dark with delays from the cable line move, the crew had not cut all the logs to firewood length. I called Scott and the men were back the next day to cut it all up to proper length. All in all Tree Harmony did exactly as contracted, and moreover, they were a fun, professional bunch of men who were happy to do as I needed. read more

We had Tree Harmony Arborists wind sail (trim/thin out) four of the giant Douglas Fir trees in our backyard. Scott, the owner, came out and gave me an estimate and advised us on what he thought needed to be done. He was extremely professional, easy to talk to, and knew what he was talking about! He explained the reasons why he thought something needed to be done and also explained the process of how everything would work. After talking with Scott, there was no question that we would go with his company. They don't just take down or trim trees, he really knows trees and that was important to us. He even gave us advice on some things that we could do to keep our trees healthier. As an added bonus, the price he quoted us was better than other quotes we got. On the day of the service, two men from the company showed up. Like Scott, they were very professional. They got to work immediately and were so quiet! My neighbors and I actually gathered across the street to watch them work high up in our fir trees. They did an AMAZING job! Unlike some chop jobs, the trees didn't look like they had a bad haircut, they just looked so much more cleaned up and were definitely safer and more capable of withstanding our crazy NW wind storms! What I really thought was great was that at the end of the job, you would never know that they had been in our backyard. They cleaned everything up- raking my yard and actually leaving it in better shape than when they started the job. Scott followed up the next day to make sure that we were happy with the job (which wewere!). It was a great experience! Scott Sinclair and his hard working crew from Tree Harmony Arborists recently trimmed and pruned a yard full of mature overgrown trees and bushes in the yard of an older home we purchased and are remodeling in the Enatai neighborhood in Bellevue, WA. This is the second project Tree Harmony has helped us with. Several years ago his crew did an exceptional job pruning several large hedges. We have a 140 foot tall fir tree, as well as a number of species of smaller trees, large 40-year-old camellia bushes and many rhododendrons. All were were neglected, overgrown and crowded. The fir tree was dangerous. The work took three or four days and resulted in tons of debris. The pruning was very well done, bringing more light as well into our home. After it was done and well cleaned up the plants and trees look great and we are looking forward to the spring bloom to see them in their restored glory. I highly recommend Tree Harmony Arborists LLC (Mercer Island). Scott Sinclair of Tree Harmony completed some pruning to a Vine Maple tree at the front of my house and cut down and removed a total of four very fast-growing Leyland Cypress trees growing in my backyard in the Redmond Ridge neighborhood of Redmond, Washington. I wanted the Cypress trees removed because they were blocking light and the maple needed trimming back for a combination of aesthetic reasons and to keep it from touching the side of the house. Scott came across as professional - I met with him to show him the project requirements, he gave me a written estimate, and then came at a later date to complete the project. He also provided stump grinding, so I was not left with ugly stumps in the ground. Overall, I could not be happier with the result - I now have much more light in the backyard. This was the second time we used Scott Sinclair at Tree Harmony to service our trees around our residence in north Bellevue. We have a number of tall trees and were concerned about the wind blowing them down on our house. Also, we wanted the trees to be healthy and look good, particularly since our trees are our view. Scott did an excellent job surveying the job, discussing our options and his recommendations and providing a specific estimate with a site map and everything. We were told exactly what to expect in advance and even when we had to reschedule, he was accommodating and worked with us to make us happy. I hired Tree Harmony Arborists to perform a landscape consultation and make recommendations to care for our trees. This is the second project Scott has helped us with. About three years ago he completed an extensive project pruning large fir, magnolia, and laurel trees. His service was tremendous and the value we received for the dollars invested was very fair. On this occasion, Scott and his crew tended to our smaller leaf trees such as Japanese maples, cherries, and camellias. They also thoroughly pruned some twenty two rhododendrons, giving them a dignified shape and affording them some light. My backyard was out of control. I hadn't pruned my fruit trees in years, and I had large conifers overhanging my front driveway shedding all kinds of dead needles and twigs. Tree Harmony Arborists gave me a bid, came out, and tackled the project in one day while I was at work. Scott the owner was professional and easy to communicate with. His team showed up on time, and they skillfully pruned three apple trees, two groves of plums, plus the conifers, and removed the debris. The results are just what I'd hoped for -- I again have shapely, healthy, productive trees.
