EXPERIENCE…read more I didn't want to have to leave this review, but after the owners promised to make it right and then never made good on their promise, I can't stress enough how horrible our experience was with Moore and Smith. They were by a mile the highest quote, and we don't mind paying top dollar for good service, but this was nothing short of disappointing. The company came highly recommended, however they repeatedly dropped the ball on our rental when we needed to have trees removed. They presented a waiver to our tenants stating it was "to cover the property under insurance should anything happen". This was in fact a waiver in case the lawn and or driveway got torn up. I, as the owner of the property was NEVER presented this document, or I would have certainly requested to move the service to another day when the ground was more firm. Lo and behold, the lawn is a demolition derby, the driveway is damaged, and the tenants were picking up trash and debris for days. Not what I would expect for an $8000 service. When I called to get to the root of the problem and express my frustration, I spoke with Megan, who is equally as classless as she is condescending... not sure what swamp they dug her out of, but I've never been spoken to by a more repugnant person. Any company that would have THAT as their customer service person clearly doesn't give a shit about customer service... The owners called me back to apologize for how she spoke to me, which showed class, and promised to return to our rental, smooth out the tracks from the damage, and to reseed the lawn. He also promised to come to our property for free for a service should we need help. They never made good on either promise, and calls to the owner have been unreturned and texts left on read. We made a plan to eliminate the danger, plus do a full day of trimming and nutrient injections. He seemed to really care about our trees and we were excited to work with him, even though the scope and the quote were beyond what we had initially planned on spending. What followed was three weeks of unfulfilled promises, excuses, and constant prodding on our part to get communication. We're relatively easygoing, but he committed to doing work for us, and then wouldn't send us a contract or set a date so it was super frustrating. As another reviewer said - if you don't have time for us or don't want to work with us, just let us know that so we don't waste our time. Three weeks later, I now have to start the hunt for a vendor all over again. It shouldn't be this hard to find someone who respects a client's time, especially when that client intends to pay you almost $2,000.

We spoke with several companies, and selected Quality Tree Surgery because they were knowledgeable, had a competitive price, and had good reviews from our neighbors. They did excellent work. When we spoke with them during the job, they listened to what we wanted, explained what they were doing, and why they were doing it. They were very nice, cleaned up very well, were respectful of our neighbors' yards, and did the work in less time than they anticipated. Since then, we have used Quality Tree Surgery to aerate and overseed our yard, and to control aphids on a nearby hackberry (both are annual jobs). When we need to hire anyone to do work to our trees or yard going forward, I won't even bother getting other companies to quote the work. We just go straight to Quality Tree Surgery. They are honest, reliable, do good work, offer reasonable pricing, and every employee we have dealt with has been knowledgeable and pleasant.

Kaily's is an enigma. I have to agree with other reviewers, that the initial communication is very…read moregood. We had the guys come out, review our tree removal needs, and give us a firm quote right there on the spot. Thereafter, scheduling was pretty easy too. They showed up when they said they were going to and started working immediately. From there, things went a bit wonky. They told us our job would be a one-day job. It turned into 3 days. Each day, the entire crew would just pack up and be gone, leaving each time and not communicating when, or even if, they'd be back to finish. Halfway through day-2, they moved our neighbors stuff around in their yard without their or our permission (didn't even talk to us about it). On top of that, they also messed up part of that same neighbor's yard dealing with the tree on that side of the job. The ground/grass there is pretty well destroyed, and they did not have permission to be on the neighbor's property. While expected, as we had some YUGE trees that needed to be removed (80-90 footers), our yard is completely destroyed. They did do a good job protecting our irrigation heads all throughout the yard though, even those right below where the huge trees fell. By the time they left for the 2nd day, still unfinished and not telling us when/if they'd be back, we were a bit exasperated. When we asked what was going on with the final piece of the job, the stump grinding, they said they didn't know and that it was a different team that came out and did that, and they had their own/different schedule and we'd just be worked in when they were available. Several days later, the stump grinding team showed up unannounced. They went to work on the stumps immediately, but left GIANT piles of sawdust in the yard where the stumps were ground. We weren't expecting that and calls/texts sent asking about it were not returned... finally they just sent us an invoice via email and we never heard anything else from them. We just paid the bill to be done with the job, but don't necessarily feel like we received everything we paid for in totality. Overall, they did the job, the trees and stumps are gone, and they didn't break anything that needed to be repaired, but we now have some additional work to the grounds (including our neighbors) that has to be done as a result.

They had an excellent rates and once the job was scheduled they showed up and worked until the truck was full and they had to come back another day. The only issue I had was communication in getting the service scheduled. We had them come out and do the estimate super quickly. However getting a hold of them to get the work scheduled took multiple back and forths of text messages. Overall we are extremely pleased with the service they did; just make sure that when you get the estimate you are willing to schedule that day.
