There is a great advantage in having the owner of the company on site and working harder than anyone else to assure that the job is done right. We had the guys come out, review our tree removal needs, and give us a firm quote right there on the spot. Thereafter, scheduling was pretty easy too. They showed up when they said they were going to and started working immediately. From there, things went a bit wonky. They told us our job would be a one-day job. It turned into 3 days. Each day, the entire crew would just pack up and be gone, leaving each time and not communicating when, or even if, they'd be back to finish. Halfway through day-2, they moved our neighbors stuff around in their yard without their or our permission (didn't even talk to us about it). On top of that, they also messed up part of that same neighbor's yard dealing with the tree on that side of the job. The ground/grass there is pretty well destroyed, and they did not have permission to be on the neighbor's property. While expected, as we had some YUGE trees that needed to be removed (80-90 footers), our yard is completely destroyed. They did do a good job protecting our irrigation heads all throughout the yard though, even those right below where the huge trees fell. By the time they left for the 2nd day, still unfinished and not telling us when/if they'd be back, we were a bit exasperated. When we asked what was going on with the final piece of the job, the stump grinding, they said they didn't know and that it was a different team that came out and did that, and they had their own/different schedule and we'd just be worked in when they were available. Several days later, the stump grinding team showed up unannounced. They went to work on the stumps immediately, but left GIANT piles of sawdust in the yard where the stumps were ground. We weren't expecting that and calls/texts sent asking about it were not returned... finally they just sent us an invoice via email and we never heard anything else from them. We just paid the bill to be done with the job, but don't necessarily feel like we received everything we paid for in totality. Overall, they did the job, the trees and stumps are gone, and they didn't break anything that needed to be repaired, but we now have some additional work to the grounds (including our neighbors) that has to be done as a result.

However getting a hold of them to get the work scheduled took multiple back and forths of text messages. EXPERIENCE…read more I didn't want to have to leave this review, but after the owners promised to make it right and then never made good on their promise, I can't stress enough how horrible our experience was with Moore and Smith. They were by a mile the highest quote, and we don't mind paying top dollar for good service, but this was nothing short of disappointing. The company came highly recommended, however they repeatedly dropped the ball on our rental when we needed to have trees removed. They presented a waiver to our tenants stating it was "to cover the property under insurance should anything happen". This was in fact a waiver in case the lawn and or driveway got torn up. I, as the owner of the property was NEVER presented this document, or I would have certainly requested to move the service to another day when the ground was more firm. Lo and behold, the lawn is a demolition derby, the driveway is damaged, and the tenants were picking up trash and debris for days. Not what I would expect for an $8000 service. When I called to get to the root of the problem and express my frustration, I spoke with Megan, who is equally as classless as she is condescending... not sure what swamp they dug her out of, but I've never been spoken to by a more repugnant person. Any company that would have THAT as their customer service person clearly doesn't give a shit about customer service... The owners called me back to apologize for how she spoke to me, which showed class, and promised to return to our rental, smooth out the tracks from the damage, and to reseed the lawn. He also promised to come to our property for free for a service should we need help. They never made good on either promise, and calls to the owner have been unreturned and texts left on read. Last week, Romiro (the owner) came out to my property (after being late due to reportedly having truck problems), and was very nice. Reasonable quote. Was looking forward to having the trees on my property trimmed. He showed my husband and I his license and schedule. We decided to get this done today, 4/4/17 starting anywhere from 8am-8:30am. Well, fast forward to 4/4/17 (today): 9am came and went. I contacted the office. The woman told me we were in fact on the schedule and she would contact her "boss" to find out what happened and get back to me. Well, over 1/2 hour came and went and no returned call. I called back around 40 minutes later, I left a voice message. She called back a couple of minutes later and told me the guys were emptying out their trucks because they were full. They would be here between 10:30am-11am. 11:20am: no tree service on my property, no follow-up phone call to notify me of what was going on. Basically, a no-show. I called the office once more and cancelled the service. I notified them I would be searching for another company. Never received a call back. I am extremely disappointed as I have many other things happening and was looking forward to having the trees trimmed so that they would be safer when we get these strong TN storms. I do not understand why a company would give the estimate and then not follow-through without an explanation. I understand life happens and would have been perfectly fine if they contacted me and told me the truth, that they either forgot or something happened, etc... I do not, however, understand this type of unprofessional behavior that seems to be more mainstream nowadays. I am a professional myself and conduct my self as such.
