My girlfriend NEVER gets her hair done, maybe twice a year due to the fear of something bad happening with her hair, and I am writing this review for her because she's too kind and didn't want to be "extra," but I must stand up for her. But she decided to try something new, and got her hair dyed for the FIRST time EVER. Upon showing and combing her hair, her skin came onto the comb. She had severe burns from them using too much bleach. Upon reaching out to them to merely see if they could help, they implicitly blamed it on her for not telling her a 4th time after she had already said it was burning.. This place is not worth your time, don't go here. I'd leave negative stars if possible. read more

Came in with blonde hair , asked for rose gold / strawberry blonde , left the salon grey and purple and paid $50 for my haircut. We mutually agreed I'd go back to get it fixed 5 days later . I called that afternoon to relay that I had no intention on paying for this visit since they screwed my hair up . Well that obviously was not okay . The manager never once called or apologized to me for completely screwing up my hair , especially considering that I was so calm about the whole thing. I did not end up paying for my hair to be fixed but it was by far the worst experience I've ever had at a salon. As soon as I walked in 5 girls were at the desk and just glared at me along with my hairstylist Debenese. The only time in 3 hours she spoke to me was to tell me to lean back, go back to the chair, etc. before the manager, Laura left she came over to tell me she thinks I'll like what she's doing and I told her I had no idea what she was doing at this point because she didn't tell me. Needless to say it was a TERRIBLE experience and if they would have been professional or at least showed some compassion for turning my hair PURPLE I would have gone back , but the complete lack of respect on every levels has motivated me to blast them on every review site I can find . Sorry for the delay, but Tredora is back up to five stars! The owner was very gracious and welcoming to feedback and we talked about the lapse in communication that resulted in no one calling me back. Tracey took an afternoon and did an amazing redo on my hair. It came out looking even better than it did after the first visit, and there was no charge for this visit. It's been several weeks now, and my hair still looks amazing. Have you ever had an issue or concern with a product or service from a business and when you brought it to the manager's/supervisor's/owner's attention they made you feel like doing anything to solve the dilemma was a huge inconvenience to them and they'd rather lose you as a customer than fix the problem? Let me state with absolute certainty that in talking with Tracey and the owner I was never, ever made to feel like this. In today's climate, it was wonderful experiencing this - to be made to feel like a valued customer. For that I can't sing enough praise, and I will happily be a repeat customer to Tredora. read more

I just moved to the neighborhood so I went there. I told the receptionist I wanted a wash and blowout, the hairdresser just motioned for me to follow her. She never said her name or anything else for the 90mins it took her to blow-dry my hair, normally it should be a 25min task. I get my hair blown out 2xs a week . After she finished the only thing she said was how much... 45 dollars!!! I almost fell over!! I totally felt robbed! I will never go there again, they lost a potential frequent customer. read more

I had my hair done today for the first time here by Lindsay and I was taken aback by how BEAUTIFULLY my hair came out. She was super sweet and very polite. She really took her time and made sure that I was happy. She was also really gentle with my hair. I've had bad experiences with some hairdressers where it feels like they're literally pulling on my hair when they wash it or comb it out. And I'm usually not a complainer since I have a pretty high tolerance for pain. (So when I feel that something hurts, it really hurts!) Lol I told her I wanted a color like the blonde on her hair and that's what she did! I can't believe some of the mean reviews on here; this place is great! I plan on coming back again. read more

Worst haircut!!!! Avoid this place. I can see now why I haven't heard of this place while living in the Hudson Valley for 15 years. I happened to stumble upon it, trying to find a new stylist since my girl married and moved out West. This place is nothing to write home about on the exterior, the interior is modern, could be tidier but the receptionist seemed nice so I gave it a try. Lindsay did the wash and cut, the wash was okay/mediocre at best. The haircut was scary and very uncomfortable! First she couldn't find her scissors and stopped after making the very first overly short cut to the back of my hair. I felt scalped. She kept making comments on how she really didn't like the scissors she was cutting with and how straight hair is very hard to cut!! (My hair is straight) Way to make a girl want to run out of a salon chair!! Then she pulled another girls cart over and the girl came over eyes rolling telling her that was her cart. She finally had her scissors handed to her by another women (salon owner). It was like they were playing practical jokes or something...This place was very unprofessional! After Cut was done (an hour and a half of nonsensical cutting) I was white knuckles and uncomfortable the entire time! Lindsay then stopped and walked directly to the register/receptionist, I followed. I then proceeded to pay and tip, perplexed... Lindsay, never showed me the cut in the mirror or made me feel like it was done right at all. Not a very confident stylist, I don't care how long a person has been "styling". I left without even knowing what my hair looked like. I then went to a few shops locally and caught a glimpse in the mirror, I was appalled! Nothing like I explained or showed Lindsay two pictures of...I went directly home mortified. Everyone I saw for the next few days (friends/family/employees) asked me if that's what I wanted done. I was embarrassed to even answer. It wasn't even cold but I proceeded to wear hats! I waited two days to try and see if it would be better. I finally got the courage to call and complain. I found the owners name was Laura. Over the phone Laura seemed interested in seeing me and finding out if she could "fix" the situation. She made me an appt. and told me to come in. I went at the time Laura told me to come back. I was very hesitant, I was actually scared to step foot back in there. I waited over 15 minutes for Laura to come out of the back room to address the situation (which really felt like hours). Finally she came out, proceed to tell me to sit in her chair. I sat and she ridiculed me on how I should be more open about what I wanted. I clearly stated the pictures I showed Lindsay and described exactly what I wanted. Laura made me feel much worse, and I got right up! Clearly she had no intention on "fixing" anything. She said there was nothing she could fix. In my mind if there is nothing you can fix then why am I sitting in her salon chair?!! I demanded my money back. That was not an easy task, Laura said this is how we get paid...obviously I know that!! Why pay for terrible services. I told her getting my $50 back will make this awful experience a little easier to swallow! Laura continued to throw daggers, quick insults and then stormed off in the back room again. By then I've had enough and couldn't control my emotions. I've never in my life felt treated like garbage. If you want to feel like garbage definitely book an appointment with Laura at Tredora!!! What an excellent experience!! My mom and I called last minute (staying at Hampton Inn around the corner for a wedding) and they squeezed us in for a blow out and style. They took great care of us!! Took my 18 year old for color correction n style for prom n I was very disappointed. When I scheduled my appointment I clearly stated I wanted no bleach used on her hair and for styling she told me to bring a picture in. However I meet my Daugther n Linzy was using bleach n even bleached her eyelashes n 1/2 her eyebrows then blew it out crazy n told my Daugther she would be unable to curl her hair because it's too sensitive right now therefore she put up a bun with 20 pins n send us on our merry way. She gave us a price adjustment for the misunderstanding however I would had prefer to pay whatever it was n not have to go somewhere else like we did so they can curl her hair n make her look age cuz she came out looking like a little old lady.. N when the new stylist went to do her hair and removed the pins chunks came right off it has been a disasters nd it took her 4-5 hours we spend our morning there n it was a total waste must say the staff was respectful n nice but that about it.i gave them 1 star because I couldn't give them half . To think my sister n I were so happy to find aVeda salon. I love how they always have an answer for people's reviews what I wanted was simple color correction if possible n I brought a picture n my Daugther bought a picture with side curls n got a bird nest oh boy love I they have excuses . I have been going to Tredora for about 2 years now. Pros: They only use Aveda products, which work great with my hair. My stylist Laura A. is one of their best. She is the blow out master! I have thick curly hair and she makes my hair look like I just walked out of a commercial! She is also great with color and cuts. It's hard to find someone who knows how to cut curly hair, but she has never disappointed. We have gotten to know each other a little over the past few years and she is a sweetheart! I have also gotten a pedicure there a few times with Julissa and I was impressed. A few of the other stylists/helpers I have come to know normally say hello and will offer up a drink or magazine, which is a nice touch. Cons: Overall, I get the feeling that some of the salon staff are dramatic and clique-ish. Sometimes there seems to be a lot of gossip going on. Kind of a turn off. On one occasion, the owner was having a very loud personal argument with someone on the phone. When she hung up, she stomped in to the back and slammed the door so hard that it shook the walls. I thought it was quite unprofessional, especially since there was clients in the salon. There was another occasion when the receptionist called me to confirm my appointment and told me my appointment was at 1:00. I make my appointments far in advance, so I usually appreciate the reminder. I showed up at 1:00 and she have me a dirty look and told me I was 30 minutes late for my appointment. I explained to her that I was told to come at 1:00 when she called to confirm. Then she realized she had confused me with someone else with a similar name. She didn't apologize or anything, she just said "oops." Overall: They are definitely pricey. It costs me $90 for a root touch up and a blow out. But to me it's worth the money to have someone who knows what they are doing with my type of hair. I've had my hair botched so many times by cheaper salons, so I'm just happy to have found someone who knows how to work with my hair! My stylist is the reason I keep going back. I am so disappointed that I literally spent the last half hour hysterically crying. So due to the unfortunate weather the salon I originally planned to go to had closed due to no power (the majority of places near me have no power). I scrambled looking for other salons who could do a gel manicure since I am leaving the following day to go to my masters level graduation in Maine. They had power and were able to fit me in. I had been there in years past and they did a good job on my nails but not today! I had a young girl who said she had been at the salon a month and previously had done nails in her Home, I should have at that point got up but I didn't and thought maybe she does a good job. It took her an hour to file and cut my nails, they were crooked, some had very square edges and some round. A few times I picked up the nail file and did them myself and she kept saying please tell me if I can fix anything. Finally she was ready to do my cuticles and didn't cut anything off, her hands were very shaky and she wasn't evening cutting anything. My mom ended up calling the salon wanting to know what was taking so long.... the girl said oh I'm almost done and then we can do the polish. She put the base coat on and again with a very shaky hand and even getting the base coast on my futile and not wiping it. I decided to let her do the color and see well as she was on my second hand I evaluated the first and the polish was very uneven on the cuticle. Some nails the color was literally on the nail bed and others it wasn't. When she asked for my first hand back I stated that I was done and got up, the girl quickly got up and went to the back. I felt bad but at the end of the day I wanted my nails to look perfect for my big weekend. I walked to the front angry and ready to cry. I told the girl I would pay something but I wasn't going to pay full price. She asked if they could get someone else, I kindly explained that I have other errands to run as I am leaving in the am and due to having no power I had to get finished with my errands to run home and pack before it was pitch black. There was another girl who stated that I had been there for almost 2 hours and wanted to leave. They both looked at my nails and said oh yea not good and apologized. I am now forced to file my nails even shorter to get them all looking the same and will have to paint my own nails this evening. To say I am disappointed is an understatement!!! I have never had a negative experience here until this! This nail tech should not be allowed to work at this salon! She was nice but other then that she was terrible at doing nails. read more

I used to like Tredora, but it's really gone downhill. The scheduling is a mess. On three separate occasions I booked pedicures only to be called the day of to say they were running behind. This last time I had to leave directly from Tredora to go to the airport and I let them know ahead of time. They ran an HOUR behind schedule and left me sitting in the pedicure chair with my toes wrapped in foil with acetone for half an hour. My skin literally burned when she took them off. Front desk could have cared less that I didn't even get the pedicure I had scheduled. I only had time to change my polish and get an eyebrow wax which was still over $50. Just want to start by saying I love this salon! Laura the owner is exceptional and makes me feel confident every time I see her (which is very frequent!) Also, all of her staff is wonderful and know how to treat all of their clients providing the best customer service. Laurie the esthetician is very knowledgable and great too. I have always had a great experience at Tredora. My stylist, Debanese is professional and attentive. She let's me make suggestions and guides me to a safer approach to my hair care. She is the best. I have used several high end salons in Manhattan over many years. When I moved to Orange County I continued to go to a Manhattan salon. I stumbled on the Aveda salon when I was looking for an Aveda product. I spoke with the owner Laura and we set up an appointment. I have been happy ever since. one start because the 2 girls that did my nails were nice. On the other hand i got a french gel manicure, regular gel was 30$ but french gel for some reason brought it up to 43$!!! Thats a whopping $13 additional. Now usually for gel you put a pink coat on then do the french tip but there was no pink coat, just the white tip and than 2 coats of the clear shellac, and that was it. This was a last minute decision that i regret, plus my nails chipped only an hour later. The place i usually go to puts a pink coat before the white stripe, gives you a hand and back massage, gives your hands a paraffin wax, and a hot stone back rub all for 30$...also first girl cut my skin while cutting my nails. She takes her time which is great, and is willing to fix your hair until you're happy. My hair was ruined from a previous colorist and Tracey did a beautiful color correction, treatment, and blowout. I feel that the prior review doesn't really give a true representation of this place. Unfortunate that her experience wasn't stellar.. that could be for any number of reasons I suppose.. communication, etc. However, I have been going here for a few years now and I feel so comfortable and never self conscious about my hair or its condition when I get there. After years of others remarking about it being thin, or in bad shape, etc. , Laura and Julissa got me all back into shape, evolved an awesome look for me, and my hair is lovely and better looking than ever! They take time to do a nice consultation as long as you express the desire to do so. Otherwise, it's great that they keep your history on file regarding the color and such. So really, do consider how important it is to feel comfortable. In addition, the salon itself if wonderful, has recently been tastefull renovated. The Aveda products are what brought me here in the first place and they carry a very comprehensive line as well as use the products generously and explain their benefits and uses. Most importantly, there doesn't seem to be a huge turnover of staff. You can walk in and be greeted warmly without an appointment but you can feel secure that your favorite hairdresser will probably be there when you return and that is super dooper important and a real treat nowadays. The staff is happy and friendly and so is your experience. I would not trade this for the world. Pricing may seem a little bit steep if you are used to the chain hair places, but you get what you pay for and I am happier to have higher end quality or work.. the value is evident in the results :) read more

....and I got a manicure with with the teeniest ding and they were all about fixing it and so very apologetic that I did not feel at all apprehensive when I came back the very next day to fix a nail that I had broken. There is a ton of "team work". They women who work there are all about you treating you how they would like you to treat them, only better. I ended up losing over 6 inches of my hair due to chemical damage, not to mention over $600. I regret going to tredora everytime I see my hair in the mirror. I was told by multiple other hair stylists that it was because at my last couple of sessions that the chemicals were left on my hair for too long! Owner didn't seem to be all that apologetic. Due to my constant reminder of a HUGE loss and damage on multiple levels, I've contemplated a lawsuit. read more

Love the "vibe" here- pretty and comfortable surroundings, warm, friendly people! Very happy with service. Admittedly, a life-long perfectionist when it comes to my hair, I found Laura to be gracious and welcoming, with the perfect combination of great communication and styling skills! I arrived with damaged hair -have been highlighting and coloring my below-shoulder length hair all of my life,- and grown-out remnants of a previously crazily layered cut. Laura listened patiently, making suggestions, reviewing pictures (always a good idea since I don't speak "hair" especially accurately) and I left with silky, healthy-looking hair that falls beautifully. I love it! Laura recommended a glaze for shine and color correction, an Olaplex conditioning treatment -that stuff is magic!- and a reshaping, flattering cut, maintaining a length I like.
