If you are ever in Jasper you must come to Tre' Vione's!! My 16 year old just told me that her Bacon Cheddar Cheeseburger is one of the Top 3 she has ever had!! That is a huge compliment coming from one of my picky eaters!! She also says "they know how to use spices". The Shrimp Etouffee might has well have been straight from New Orleans. went twice this weekend to Tre Viones. First was on Saturday around 2pm before my wife and friends went to Marine Corps Ball in Jasper. We had the best time. We plan each year before Marine Corps Ball to go to Tre Viones because there is no where in Bloomington Indiana to get authentic Cajun food. We had 4 different appetizers between us all. The Gator Tail, hushpuppies, Mozzarella sticks, and onion rings. For the main courses the couples at the table had Jambalaya, Fried Gator Tails, Blackened Catfish, and Red Beans and Rice. The meals were excellent. The place was quiet with pleasant music and waitress was owner whom we have come to know each visit. She cooked the meals, had son wait the tables, and talked with us a bit. We love going here and will continue to when we visit Jasper. George is owner and from Louisiana and brings the flavors to life in every meal. There is something for everyone on the menu. The second trip was on Veterans day and we got to talk to owner about his service and his passion for Cajun food and bringing that to all of us. Dont literally (buy) any of these reviews you see. I love cajun food but they unfortunately dont know what they are doing at all. It started off fine, waiter came by took our order. Than the cook came out to take our order again so it would go faster. Ive never seen a cook come out to take our order. Super strange, definitely had radar senses up. Food came out and well not very good at all. The best thing was the okra and that is average. I make better at home. Jambalaya was awful, I cant even describe it to you. Ive eaten alot of jambalaya and it was no where close to my expectation. Catfish and fries um okay at best is the best way to describe it and thats being generous. I hope they turn it around as a great cajun place would be great. I never see anyone in the parking lot but the staff cars. I am surprised that they are still open to be honest. read more

We visited from Indianapolis while out of town visiting the Hoosier National Forest. We came in an hour to close and were the only ones there and genuinely felt weird but.. there wasn't much else open in walking distance. Plus the reviews were pretty good. George greeted us as if we had known him our whole lives. He made several recommendations on the menu after picking our brains on what we like, brought out so many sauces to try (yo that honey mustard and that IHD sauce are incredible). I got the red beans and rice and it was great. Lil Smokey, rice perfectly done, great spice. My fiance got the American Cajun chicken. We tried frog legs and gator bites as well. Gator was a bit tough but had great flavor. Do NOT skip the frog legs. Incredible!! We had to bring our leftover back to our room and ate it through the night. Hands down. Best chicken tenders I've ever had. We will definitely be back this summer to the area and we are absolutely stopping here for crawfish and catfish next time. I can't wait!! read more

Went in for the first time. Only one there. Told the lady that greeted me that it was my first time there. No response. Asked if I wanted a table or booth. Sat down, took my drink order. Brought my tea right away. Ordered the Gwen's jambalaya. The menu description sounded amazing. The waitress brought it out. Tomato rice with a little cayenne, onion, okra, red bell pepper, and some slices of cheap hotdog. I knew that every bite after the first one was going to taste the same. I couldn't stand it. Ate almost half. Asked for the check. Waitress asked if I liked it. I said no. Another girl was at the front and I gave her a twenty and the check. I told her I thought it was disgusting. No response. No offer of something else. I heard the plate being scraped. After a while she came back with four dollars and change. Full price for what I didn't like and said it was disgusting. Wonderful restaurant with good service and friendly Proprietor. Always a treat in a new restaurant when the owner greets the guests! Food was well prepared and flavorful. I started with a "side order" of gumbo, which was a medium roux and spicy. An excellent example of my favorite soup! I followed it with Crawfish Etouffee which came out piping hot and spicy. The crawfish were perfectly done, tender and juicy. The mirepoix still had some texture which accentuated the dish. Crazy portions, so I recommend getting the normal size unless you are a *REALLY* big eater! Hardly any room for more, but we had to try the Beignets. One order includes three, just enough for all to taste. They came out piping hot, covered in powdered sugar and fresh caramel. Do NOT miss this New Orleans treat! read more

From the gator bites to the po' boys to the crawfish and dessert, our meal was absolutely incredible. It was Cajun cuisine and southern hospitality done right! The owner and his wife stopped by our table repeatedly, checking to make sure that our food was correct and we had everything we needed. The restaurant itself was clean, comfortable, and cozy! We wouldn't change a thing, unless we could move it closer to home and join their "regulars" crowd! Oh I hate to do this review but I have to be honest. First of all our waitress was so nice and did a great job. But I'm pretty sure none of the food was actually Cajun or the wagyu beef actually that. The bathroom to the left wasn't clean very well at all. The shrimp in my Alfredo sauce were so small and tasteless along with the sauce. Onion rings was the best thing we had. read more

What a delight! My husband and I are in Jasper for a couples weekend. We were looking around for something to eat close to our hotel. The cajun food was amazing! But the best part was Molly, the new bartender there. My husband joined me later and Molly made a point to welcome him by name. She gave us her Mardi Gras beads from 2019 for our son. I have never written a review before but after how bad the experience was here I made an account just to say how effin bad it was. My husband and I went on a Saturday night for dinner and had high hopes after seeing it had a 4.6 rating with over 200 reviews. The bartender saw us waiting up front, told us to sit wherever and asked for our drinks. It was karaoke night but it seemed like the handful of people there were only there specifically for the karaoke and drinks. A few minutes after sitting down a guy in streetwear clothes came over and started going on and on about my husband doing karaoke. He was joking around saying my husband called, requested a song and how he has it all queued up for my husband to go sing. We smiled and said no we aren't singing but he kept going on with this bit of his and insisted a few more times saying that my husband should, telling him to come on, until he finally did the "ohhh alright, if you say so" before walking off. We assumed he was just the DJ trying to get more people involved but it was very over the top how he went about it. Not long after a young boy came over with our waters and asked for our order. This kid looked like he was maybe 13-15, also wearing streetwear type of clothes, a camp crystal lake shirt and white camo pants. We weren't ready to order so we asked for another minute. Not even 5 minutes later the first guy asking about karaoke came back, AND SLID INTO THE BOOTH NEXT TO MY HUSBAND. He grabbed the menu in front of him and says, "let me give you my impression of you guys... what are you getting...idk what are you getting... idk what about you...sound about right? Hahaha." He then stood up and asked what we were wanting to order. I was blown away this guy actually worked here and was so unprofessional. I asked for the gumbo, my husband asked for the étouffée. The waiter/DJ/whoever-he-was asked if he wanted shrimp, sausage, crawfish or chicken. My husband said he was torn between shrimp and crawfish so the guy said that he could get both if he wanted. Our food came out fast and at first glance looked decent but after trying them, it wasn't very good. The rice was overcooked and bland, the gumbo was okay at best but the étouffée had no flavor except for being spicy. We both like spicy foods but this tasted like they tried to cover up how bad it was with heat added to it. The shrimp in both dishes had an odd texture to it so after fishing out a few pieces of shrimp, they looked a bit translucent as if it wasn't cooked all the way. As we were picking at our not-so great food, my husband pointed out that there were customers walking behind the bar, poking their head through the curtain to the kitchen to ask for something cause barely any worker aside from the bartender was present out front. Although for all we know these "customers" also could have been workers since no one wore uniforms or name tags for that matter at this establishment. After we ate what little we wanted of the gumbo we asked our young waiter for the check. It was frustrating how long it took considering no one else was there eating. Once we got the check, again we were frustrated to see a $4.50 upcharge for adding an extra meat to the étoufée. Yes, we probably should have known it would have been more but most waiters inform you of an upcharge when ordering and they certainly did not here. We both love hole in the wall types of restaurants, and small family owned restaurants but this place seemed more like a low end clubhouse that had bad food with how unprofessional the service was and terrible food. I would not recommend this place to anyone in the slightest. It was definitely one of the most disappointing restaurants I have ever been to. read more

Absolutely incredible place. This family owned business made my family feel right at home. Had great conversations with the owners. Told him the biggest thing I missed about living in Mississippi was the crawfish and he went above and beyond. Also treated my daughters to a great desert. I was blown away by traditional authenticity of the Cajun style offerings, but once arrived the food was amazingly delicious. The service was prompt, courteous, helpful with navigating the menu. The atmosphere is comes to life with a generous musical blend of the sounds of New Orleans, smooth jazz, and familiar melodies of the all time greats from the 60's, 70's, 80's to name a few. It is heartwarming to see more than a few of the senior patrons snapping their fingers, patting their feet, and some, even shuffling to the familiar sounds of yesteryear. Not only does this restaurant offer GREAT food, but I'd also call it an experience that should not be missed imho. read more
