Found this place on trip advisor (why is Yelp so lacking in Italy?)
Reviewers said that it was fine dining for a slightly more reasonable price and I agree!
Especially considering Milan prices, this place was a great value!
The meal starts with two little breads, apx 1 inch size. One is bacon and cheese filled (right) and the other is topped with smoked paprika and Parmesan filled.
The meal comes with bread of course, which was great quality! The brown bread had a malty sweetness that enhanced some dishes. The focaccia was spongy, soft and light. The grissini were clearly hand made, crispy, light and golden brown. (I've been watching British baking show, can you tell?)
I ordered scallops which came with chantarelle mushrooms over a potato cream. There were 4 scallops, very sweet, and the mushrooms paired well to bring out a natural savory sweet flavor out of both items. The bread was perfect for scooping up the sauce and puree afterwards.
I also got the cappatelli ravioli with faraona (which is a type of fowl). It was served with chestnuts and both a red wine sauce and a celery cream sauce. It was savory and earthy with a hint of sweetness from the celery. The pasta was handmade. The chestnuts offered a great textural contrast.
The staff was very attentive and making sure everyone had the best experience possible. Not missing a beat in terms of filling glasses, waiting for guests to return to the table before serving food, offering educated wine pairings, and switching utensils for every course.
A note that water is 4 euro and cover is 4 euro so factor that into your budget.
Overall, the food is elegant, high quality, and flavorful. Portions are small like fine dining. Think of this as getting a high price taste with a discount on the $$$$. read more
