yeah don't waste ur time to come here. Had very uncooked pasta and payed too much for it. The meatballs were fine but ice cold in the middle. Also it's so boring inside read more

We got off the train and headed straight Brunello, a place my neice found online that boasted delicious Milanese dishes. This being my last day in Italy, I wanted something that would take my breath away. It started with great customer service. It was a bit chilly outside, but we opted to sit out there in lieu of a 20 mins. wait. They had heaters if we needed them. The food was beyond my expectations. For starters we had the stuffed zucchini flowers. I would have preferred them not fried, though still very tasty. We shared the Ossobuco with Saffron Risotto - the lunch portion was large enough to share, but I have to say, after the first bite, I regretted sharing. I could have eaten the whole thing. I had to try the creamed fava beans, so I ordered a side. No regrets whatsoever. My taste buds were doing the tarantella! Everything was fabulous, paired with a glass of Pinot Noir. read more

This has got to be my favorite restaurant on a recent visit to Milan. The saffron risotto was amazing, great wine list, warm and cozy, yet updated interior, with good service. We also had the award winning entree along with a plain pasta blanco and another risotto with truffle - with generous truffle. I was hoping to get another chance of eating the delicious risotto, but didn't get to it. I'll definitely be back, osteria brunello. read more

what a find! reasonably priced five star meal. The food was absolutely delicious. Could not have asked for anything nicer. We sat outside on the terrace, and it was no problem having our dog with us. Thank you. highly recommend the artichoke Parmesan. read more

Outstanding restaurant in Milan. Reservations are easy to make on their website and they have a good amount of availability. We had a reservation and were seated right away in a quiet corner of the restaurant. The menu is small but there's plenty to choose from. We decided to share the potato ravioli with peas in a mint sauce, the sepia taglioni with clams and zucchini cream, their award winning veal milanese, veal tonnato (tuna sauce) and saffron risotto with veal jus. Everything was prepared well and tasted amazing. My favorite was the veal milanese and risotto. Both were familiar flavors but prepared superbly. We paired dinner with a white wine from the region. We had room for dessert and got the tirimisu and pistachio ice cream. The tirimisu was almost like a mousse. It was so light and airy: just the perfect way to end the meal. Overall, I was so happy to find this place. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We didn't feel rushed or that the servers were rude. In fact, they came by often to see if we were ok. Definitely a place to try when in Milan! read more

I really like costolleta which is breaded veal but tastes like fried breaded pork chop for those who haven't tried yet. I tried several place in Milan for costolleta and I like this place a lot. I'd say majority of the people coming here especially tourists come here for costolleta because supposedly this restaurant won an award for best costolleta on 2015 or 2016. First costolleta should be veal and it should come with bone. The breading does separate from the meat so as you cut the meat the breading might flake and fall off the meat. I'd prefer it doesn't. As for the meat it's proper veal as you can see the pinkness. However I'd say it's good but not so good that I'd say it's the best costolleta. It's however worth trying it in this particular if you haven't yet. If you have at least two people that can share your food I'd recommend only order one and order something else as each piece is huge. I did finish it as I came by myself but it can get boring. I liked the bread but I don't like the tiramisu. The tiramisu has too much whipped cream but not enough of the "cake" so you feel like you are eating flavored whip cream. The service is very good and prompt. The restaurant itself feels like a good Italian restaurant without over the top deco. It has a good modern vibe that's nice to sit in. read more

Stumbled across this restaurant and am very glad we did. Simple, wonderful comfort food. Started with a complimentary taste of mortadella mouse. We enjoyed the stuffed squash blossoms, creamed cod ravioli, tagliatelle with white veal ragu, and then an absolutely wonderfulcotoletta di vitello alla Milanese! Highly recommended! read more

This was an amazing first dinner on our trip in Italy. We opted for a place that specialized in Milanese food since we were in Milan. We started with the ravioli with peas mint potatoes and pecorino cheese. I had a similar dish in NY at Rezdora a couple months ago but this was better. We had no problems getting reservations. We also started with the cuttlefish ink pasta with zucchini cream. I love zucchini and this dish was a fantastic symphony of salt from the clams and cream. For our mains we had the award winning veal as stated on the menu and it surely was award winning as it was the best veal milanese I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. But was surprising was the saffron risotto with veal jus that we have had nothing like it in NY. Another suprise was the veal with tuna sauce which I've seen in some menus before but have never tried. Since it is a milanese specialty I figured why not. Amazing!!! I didn't expect it to go so well together. We had a Lugana wine that paired well with everything. read more

We greatly enjoyed Christmas dinner 2019 here. The food was incredible, especially the veal cutlet Milanese, the best in Milan. Also. the service was fantastic and the sommelier did a great job helping us select wines that fit our taste and budget. Also noteworthy were the fois gras and the melon and feta starters. The desserts were unique and scrumptious. Next time we are in Milan, we will definitely return. Thank you for a dining experience worthy of a special Christmas dinner! read more

Honestly I'm not sure why people rave about this place. The wait staff was inattentive and sometimes rude, the "award winning" veal schnitzel (or veal cotoletta) was bland. It could have used salt or a little bit of seasoning, but it did have a decent crunch. I just don't understand the appeal of the dish. The risotto was overly salty and was too big of a portion because of the richness. Even the highly recommended wine was meh. We paid almost €200 for the meal and walked away not feeling like it was worth it all. read more

Great ambiance, vine and the best food in Milan! Famous for their veal Milanese but the best dish on the menu was the veal risotto. Omg I need it again! read more

Very yummy and such a cute spot in Milan. The pasta was so fresh and amazing. Keep up the amazing work! Can't wait to visit the next time I'm in Milan read more

The on street table service was great. The food was very good and the price was fair.

Came for the Milanese and it did not disappoint. Buttery and flaky crust, big amount of veal. Excellent side of mashed potatoes, kind of like a twice baked potato with no skin and the spinach salad was phenomenal. Also had a great slow cooked egg and asparagus with barley appetizer as well as a curry tagliatelle with clams (sauce was a little salty but pasta was good). Both dishes overall were very tasty. Bravo Brunello! read more

Really good food but I noticed most people were ordering the veal cutlet. There is so much more on the menu, but I guess the veal must be better here. Nothing to complain about except wine by the glass is about a 1/2 to 3/4 pour, very odd. read more

As you stroll through the streets of Milan, you'll be delighted to dine at the Osteria Brunello, a recently renovated family tavern that makes simple, yet sophisticated cuisine with seasonal ingredients so fresh you can taste it. I was looking for contemporary Italian cuisine, and the atmosphere of the Osteria Brunello drew us right in. Upscale and modern, but with a refined rustic charm that spread throughout the restaurant. The staff was warm and inviting from the moment I entered, and the service throughout my meal was nothing short of impeccable. It's impossible not to smile while you're here, as the mood and friendliness of the team is catchy. I started with an appetizer of foie gras on a toasted pan brioce, with a black cherry reduction that complimented the rich taste of the foie gras. I reveled in the deliciousness of their homemade pasta, with a dish of squid ink tagliatelle with lobster. The lobster broth added another level of flavor, and for me the entire meal was something truly unique and appetizing. The presentation of the dishes was beautiful, with the color of the food popping against the white dinnerware, making my mouth water. Anyone who dines at Osteria Brunello has to try the award winning veal cotoletta Milanese, which is exactly what I opted for. The server presented me with a 230g veal cutlet, breaded with finely grated white bread that gave it a perfect level of crisp when fried in clarified butter. Tender, rich, and truly a delight for the taste buds, it's easy to see why this dish is a specialty. Overall, the entire experience, from the warmly lit dining room, to the great service from the staff, to the intense flavor of the food at Osteria Brunello was incredible, and I'd definitely recommend this restaurant, especially if you want something a little different than the traditional Italian fare. read more

I was in Milan for business during hot summer month when most of the businesses start to shutdown for their vacation season. Being 1st time there, I would like to sample the local cuisine like Cotoletta Alla Milanese. To be honest, I went to Da Martino first (it was closed for the holidays), then Google map suggested Osteria Brunello was only 10 mins walking and right near the Porta Garibaldi. It is in a more touristy area, we are not in Brera, but I'm there to eat this veal fried steak and that's my mission. I was able to get to Osteria Brunello before the dinner crowd starts to pour in (~7:30PM) and was seated immediately. It is a very well run establishment, I was greet and attend by number of staff. Ordered the Tuna Carpaccio as starter and follow by La Cotoletta Alla Milanese as main. I could've easily select other dishes like Roasted Octopus, Confit Codfish or Pink Duck Breast (I'm a sucker for duck), but I was there for a reason. The Tuna Carpaccio was served with Oyster leaves (not sure how but it really has the seafood brinely taste). As for the main, I suspect the veal steak was dry-aged as it has that rich funk. Very good. If I go back to Milan, this is the place I will go back. read more

We enjoyed our time at this restaurant. The service was excellent and the place was very nice inside. I ordered the risotto Milanese with osobucco. We also ordered I think it's called veal Milanese and there are 2 other items that I can't recall the names of, one of them, obviously, my husband started eating before I could get a picture. He does that a lot. I have to be super quick on the draw with my phone or it will be gone! As you can tell by the empty plate, my husband enjoyed it. We all had a great night. read more

Looked like a nice spot, though on a touristy street. We asked to have the starter to share with a glass of white wine. The server recommended the wine. He also wanted us to order, so we did, my meal was to be the gnocchi with squid, my husband ordered the chicken with fig. We also asked him to recommend a red wine for our main courses. All would have been good, except they delivered the soft boiled egg over raw sliced mushrooms, and my husband's chicken dish at the same time???!! The chicken dish was luke warm, with a strange whipped potatoe purée. I asked than where my meal of gnocchi was. Well we just ate what we had and 20 minutes later red wine almost gone, my gnocchi dish showed up. Just a poorly executed meal, the waiter had no understanding of courses. When you say starter to share with white wine, meals with red, you expect a little bit of awareness on the server's part. This wasn't a translation problem, as he spoke English well. I realized it was to turn the table quickly. Worst dinner out on our trip, And not inexpensive. My gnocchi was good, but so late to the table I almost cancelled the order. Would not go back. read more

We went there, trying to find a good restaurant not for tourists (= expensive and not very good). And we made the right choice! (there were no menu in English, which is a good sign). The parpadella were excellent, very different of the paste we have in France! and we tasted the osso bucco with milanese risotto: delicious! Most people who come here are business(wo)men; The waiter is very nice and efficient. read more

Coworkers brought me to this restaurant while on a work trip, and I can't wait to go back! Unfortunately the pasta dish that I had doesn't seem to be on the online menu, and I can't recall what it was, but it was one of the best plates of pasta I've ever had in my life. I also had the crispy octopus which was pretty near perfect. I personally don't even like olives, but it was really well paired with this dish, so I didn't mind the subtle taste at all. Our service was generally good - maybe a little slow, but we were a large table. read more

Well, if I could do a 3.5 I probably would. When you're a tourist, especially when you're a tourist, sometime's you're just tempted to sit outside on a bustling street to people watch with dinner, so that's what we did. The street this restaurant is on is a walking-only street, and there are plenty of other restaurants next door that have outdoor seating, but this one probably serves the best food. I just didn't order the right thing. The friend I was with is vegetarian, she got house salad (pretty straightforward) and we split the Primosale fried cheese to start. The starter was actually very good, the zucchini noodles were delicious and the mint in the sauce complemented the richness of the fried cheese very well. A surprisingly complex variety of flavors and textures in this starter, but it is also a surprisingly large piece of fried cheese, so I highly recommend sharing. I then also had the gnocchi, even though the cotoletta was highly recommended... I should have gotten the veal. The gnocchi was cut in very large pieces and was very sticky. I know gnocchi is tricky to do well and...this one wasn't done well. The food on the table next to me looked great, but I my dish was disappointing. read more

Osteria Brunello - Tuscan Near Me - Milan, Michigan

We ate here last night, and everything we ordered was good. The cutlet was huge, the saffron risotto was in a large portion, the degustation menu (salad, entree, dessert) was perfection. The pasta was fresh, pappardelle with venison ragú expertly prepared. Dessert was an amazing chocolate mousse with crumbles and salted caramel just the right size. Generous wine pours from the very good, friendly and professional water. Will eat here again if I have the chance. Bravo Brunello! read more

Fabulous Risotto alla Milanese. The cottoletta is very well done. Friendly service and great outdoor seating. When in Milano a must visit.

Soooo nice! Really recommend! The spicy spaghetti surprises me and the steak!!! Sooo great!

Poor service - we were asked to rush to order food - looks like there is a contest on how often a table can be filled per evening

Exceptional restaurant open 365 days/year. Friendly, professional service, nearly perfect food preparation (the tortellini in brodo could have been hotter), and great wine list with an emphasis on the Brunellos. Wine steward was training, I suspect, so a little scattered, but his attitude was wonderful, and I'm sure he will make a terrific addition to a stellar staff. Christmas Day 2018. read more

We enjoyed dinner here last week while traveling in Italy. The food, beverages and service were great. We started with the beef tartare, I always order when I see it on a menu... probably one of the best I've ever had and the highlight of our meal.
