My 1997 house was built out of limestone and paper. Well, not really paper, but the siding and trim…read moreare a product called Masonite which has a paper pulp component that does not hold up well in humid weather. A couple of years ago, I replaced the siding on the back of the house and chimney with Hardie siding, but I did not spend the extra money to replace the soffits, fascia and trim around the roof, because that would have cost more than all the other siding combined. It turns out, squirrels like to eat paper, eh, I mean Masonite siding when they can reach it. So there are chew marks on the Masonite trim near the roof where they can perch on the gutters or roof line itself to reach it. At this point, I have gutters up and really do not want to go through the hassle of removing just those boards. I needed some metal flashing the width of the trim and bent at a 90 degree angle so it would also cover the narrow side. Home depot does not carry anything like that and if you have ever tried working with the flashing they have, once you try to bend it (without the proper tools), it starts to look like a crumpled beer can. There was a place in South Austin that did metal work, but when my handy man called them, they would not do small jobs. I Googled "buy custom metal flashing in Austin" and Montopolis supply came up. I called them, explained what I needed. They could form the flashing and custom cut the pieces to the length I needed. They also had a primed metal that would be ready to paint once attached to the house. I also needed an angle trimmed off each one - but had a template I could bring them when I picked it up. They assured me they could handle that for an additional charge. I pre-paid for my order over the phone (minus the custom cuts I would pay for later). They said it would take 24 hours. A few days later - I made my way out there on a Saturday morning to pick up my order. The office is pretty kitschy with lots of religious signs and bibles for sale. The staff was friendly and helpful. Kenneth brought my order to me and took my template to provide the additional cuts I would need. He made those cuts right in front of me. I paid for the extra cutting ($2.50 per cut). He also showed me which screws would be best for attaching to the house and you can buy those by weight (as little or as much as you need). I left with my newly cut metal flashing and a small bag of screws. Next week, I plan on having them installed on the house so the next time a squirrel tries to chew my house, they may need a trip to the dentist.

Apparently he couldn't be bothered to read two whole sentences of email and only read the one half of the word "hardie" and I was supposed to understand that he had disregarded the rest of it. Listen: Maybe if you are a builder or something that is going to buy 2000 board feet they will give you the time of day. But even then I wouldn't want to support their dishonesty. As an individual: Avoid!

The last call was "oh yeah, we've had that for several weeks"..Once I go to pick it up I find it to be on a pile. 20% broken, no packaging or boxes..just a pile. What the heck am I supposed to do with that. One by one I had to load hundreds of bricks into my truck and off of it. Because of all the broken pieces, I came up short. Guess what, another 10 weeks for 70 more bricks! 20% of those are broken. AND they tried to charge me for them. During all this I was transferred to several different reps that didn't have my order number. Half of those reps no longer working there. My best advice..scrap everything you do MPI. Scrap it all. Re-hire and re-train. Incorporate software that actually talks to each other. Just start over. Thank God I hired a great contractor to do the work because at the end of the day my brick wall looks dope. I'd spend double the amount to go somewhere that has their stuff together. End Rant.

They carry metal framing (20 or 25 gauge for 2x4s) in a wide variety of lengths & widths. They also have many sheetrock options for length and thickness (only place in town that I've been able to find 9' sheets of 5/8"). They also carry J-mould and L-mould in metal or plastic. Don't get me wrong, they have some of the normal things you'd expect to find as well, but it's definitely not Home Depot. I'd give them 5 stars if the loaders and forklift operators were a bit more snappy when pulling orders (they fill orders and bring the goods out to your truck, I guess they don't want people to dismember themselves trying to get metal framing). As far as I can tell they do NOT carry lumber of any sort, but they do have mud bazookas and lots of other useful tools. Oh yeah, their metal framing comes in bundles of 10.

It was a stressful moment because we have a couple kids, but Atila worked with us, and covered our ENTIRE post-construction clean up fee using a highly professional team. Our house was restored to better than before, and the sink was installed flawlessly. Very few businesses uphold this level of excellence, honesty, and putting the customer first. We recently purchased a townhouse unit in SE Austin that had been vacant for 12 years. A portion of the roof system was completely flat - zero pitch - and had ponding water and leaks; three in the interior of the house and one on the exterior above an eave. The roof appeared to still be in good condition and worth saving, so I went to Travis Roofing Supply in search of an economical solution to saving the roof and sealing the leaks. I was referred to Sara by an employee at the front desk. She recommended a silicon roof coating from EverRoof. The product was very easy to work with, but best of all it was economical and effective. The roof looked great and several weeks of heavy rains confirmed that all of the leaks had been sealed. Great recommendation from Sara at Travis. I have since learned that Alexander and team never received my original feedback until I had posted my review on yelp. And within days of posting I was called and asked what happen and how they could make things right. I forwarded my original feedback along with multiple pictures and immediately was told that action would be taken to correct the issues. Then came bad weather and various other events, but I will say, they called me every few days to keep me apprised of their availability to ensure it worked for both of us. Today, I am happy to say that a crew came out and put new gates in and repaired some of the other findings. As I expected, the crew came through and did an excellent job. They made sure that I was satisfied. The Project Manager later called me and asked if it all met my satisfaction. He gave me his number and said to call him if something else came up that presented an issue. I debated on leaving the original post up or not, but I wanted to leave it as a lesson learned. Not often is it sufficient to send a text or an e-mail, it takes both parties to try various forms of communications to ensure feedback is given and received. This works both ways. I think Alexander calling today even after he knew the job was done and asking/telling me to not hesitate to reachout. This company clearly is concerned about doing a good job and maintaining an excellent reputation. I would highly recommend them.

Jim - after reviewing your previous responses it's evident what type of person you are. You did provide excellent customer service over the phone that's why I left you a great yelp review, it was the beat-up product that you sent, that I had the problem. Lowes has WAY better quality baseboards than what you delivered. One 16' foot board should not have 11 finger-joints. From the attached photos you're able to see the misplaced sloppy caulk, which is not even on a seam. Pictures don't lie Jim, but you do, I have NOT received the credit you mentioned. I refuse to pay a processing fee, for a "seconds" product sold as a premium. Why would I pay extra for boards that are primed if I needed to sand them? I wanted to resolve this amicably as sent by my email. You're actually trying to steal $30 from me and I won't allow it. I will get my full refund. Your business is inferior like your products.
