I've been Hilton Silver for many years. IMO it's unlikely any Silver member would return to this Hampton.. Here's what the Hampton did right. The room & bathroom were basically clean. Nobody molested my car & there were no loiters.  I knew when I arrived & the bathroom in the lobby was locked, I knew there was something wrong here. My suspicion is the entrepreneur is being cheap to the guests & is ignoring the Hampton playbook. IMO he is harming the Hampton brand. Not sure why the entrepreneur is dealing with Hampton - if he wants to be cheap & ignore the playbook (just switch to a cheaper brand). The breakfast area is barren/minimal compared to the typical Hampton. I witnessed the breakfast attendant wearing a suit & COVID mask, but doesn't wear gloves when handling the food which you'll eat. The coffee is weak (I suspect they are re-using the coffee grounds).  When I checked in - the hallway smelled of marijania. When I checked into my room, it was musty because the AC was off.   Interestingly when I checked out they did not ask how they did (guess they don't care).  My sincere recommendation to the entrepreneur is follow the Hampton playbook (which you're already paying a fortune to be part of) or just become a franchisee of a cheaper brand.

As I got closer to my room, I realized, I was directly across from their room. I immediately knew I could not stay in that room if I wanted to get any sleep. I went back downstairs and told the staff that I needed a new room, preferably a different floor. At first, I got some push back that it was just going to be loud (there as an Ohio state game on) and quiet hours were coming up soon. Then the kids come downstairs and are running around in the lobby and making a ton of noise. At that point, she understood what I was talking about and moved me to a different room on the third floor. Because the staff was able to accommodate my request, I give them 5 stars. They did have a small 24/7 marketplace for people needing a snack or an essential in a hurry.
