The usual TV, fridge, microwave, etc. Smallish but nice bathroom. Comfy bed. Crappy pillows- well, nice enough, but super soft, and with six pillows I was hoping a couple would be firmer. Nope, all marshmallows. Plenty of plugs and lights. "Room service" from Boston's next door, but I'd suggest looking farther afield. You can walk to Panera (also not great,) Bob Evan's, White Castle, Walgreen's easily. Check out nearby Yamato, Culver's, or much better options downtown. Service was good. Prices were great (post-holiday, mid-pandemic.) The usual noisy hallway, but I was up early so not much of an issue.

We arrived late and the lady who checked us in was so nice we forgot how tired we were. Our spacious room was squeaky clean and the bed was excellent. I think I've figured out the Hyatt Place dilemma at least in my mind. If the property was built new as a Hyatt Place AND has good staff, the property js a winner. Many Hyatt Places are converted from brands like AmerSuites. Rooms are definitely not as nice and even a great staff can't make the stay much better. Fortunately this property was built for the brand and remains a nice property after four years. Hyatt Place also offers breakfast. We usually just want to get back on the road so we did not partake. The brand is fine for short overnight stays. When we have more time , we prefer full service Hyatts and other brands.

The room is very spacious however the bathroom is small and lack hooks for hanging clothes. When you open the bathroom door, it is just three inches from touching the toilet. The room is equipped with a refrigerator without a freezer component, an L-shaped desk, a moveable small desk, and Crabtree toiletry. All of these are of practical use. Gold members can receive $15 food voucher, up to two adults. We had two adults in our reservation and they mistakenly applied one voucher for one of our breakfast. I followed up and they were quick to address the mistake. Our young daughters used the pool for all three nights during our stay. It was not always equipped with towels but the staff were efficient in addressing it when we notified them of the empty towel shelves.

There were some notable hiccups, including an elevator that didn't work (thankfully there was a second elevator bank on the opposite side of the building that they did not tell me about initially. I also was charged for dining at the restaurant despite the fact that I did not actually do this; thankfully they removed the charge without a huge hassle. The room itself served fine and I got decent sleep. The hotel poo;l was one of the busier ones I've ever seen. They did have a small 24/7 marketplace for people needing a snack or an essential in a hurry.

It has an adequate lobby that has sturdy seating (some sofas and low chairs as well as a couple of bistro sets) and a large tv. The check-in area reminded me more of a curved bar than a hotel desk reception area. Next to it is the convenience store/pantry, which offers a nice variety of items, from foods, pharmaceuticals, and even housewares. At check-in, I wondered why this store sold pots, pans and other kitchen items. My room amenities would later answer this question for me. Once we went into the room, we were greeted by a FULL-SIZE refrigerator & microwave, coffee maker, spacious cabinets and a small sink, complete with cloth towels, paper towels and liquid dish soap. All these things were in the kitchen area. WHAT?!?! For hanging clothes storage, there is a nice-sized closet that houses a full-size ironing board, iron, hangers and a large clothes basket. While the bathroom was not overly spacious, it had an adequate size and contained my personal favorite- Neutragena brand toiletries. The size of our room with 2 queen-size beds was a bit more spacious than the typical hotel room. There was actually ample space to walk between the end of the bed and the desk that is against the wall. In terms of space, It really seems like this room is wheelchair accessible even though it is on the 2nd floor. I hope the other rooms in the hotel have similar dimensions and spaciousness. For recreation, there is a covered picnic area with two charcoal grills, a few tables and numerous chairs. Since the hotel is pet-friendly, there are about four stations around the grounds that supply bags for you to clean up after your beloved pet. Let me repeat... I just cannot stress just how impressed I am with this property. It offers just about all the amenities of home including a friendly and helpful staff. I believe we have found the place that we will stay on our repeated trips to Marion.

The staff was great. The one thing that lacked... Parking. When staying here you are allowed to use any of the surrounding ramps...as long as there is no Reserved sign in the space. I arrived late on a Friday and left early the following Monday. The only time I didn't have trouble finding parking was Sunday afternoon. In talking to the people at the front desk they even commented that some of their co-workers had been 15-20 min late for their shifts due to parking. I'm not sure if there was some kind of a competion going on or what... Lots of little girls around...dance maybe? Parking was just a nightmare...
