Extremely unethical and slimy hotel. Had the dates and hotel booked for MONTHS, came to check in, my dates have been changed because they were trying to accommodate other guests that were trying to check in. I had an original reservation for 6/22-6/26 since March with receipts. I come in 6/22 they are confused if my reservation is under another name or what not, I find out my reservation had been moved a week later randomly on a Monday-Friday instead of Thursday-Monday. What had happened was they booked my room for someone else and changed my dates. The most discerning part is when I went onto to book, they still had the dates available 6/22-6/26 at a higher price. I'm unsure if it's corporate doing or this specific establishment but Hilton has put a negative taste in my mouth. Never again.

Trash that was in our room when we checked in, made the room smell

We are Hampton Inn regulars. I am kind of a germaphobe and I bring antibacterial wipes with me to clean door handles etc. We have had pretty good luck with Hampton Inns. Most that we have stayed in are either new or renovated. There is the occasional hair on the bed (yuck) but I can't even think about that or I would never leave my house. We checked in here at around 12:30 am. The older gentleman at the front desk was friendly. He offered us the gold member waters and cookies. We got to our room and it smelled a little musty. Soon found out that the musty smell was coming from the trash can which still had trash in it. The trash included an empty Coors can among other things. Can't believe the trash can was missed by the housekeepers. I then went to use the bathroom and found the little mound of hair by the toilet. Another miss. I think this Inn is a little older and it's kind of in the middle of nowhere. I'll probably never be in the area again but I was still a little disappointed.

Older Hampton Inn exterior, but lobby had the more modern renovation

Beds were clean and made, but they clearly didn't finish. We arrived late at night, around 2200hr, plenty of time to have gotten the room clean. Didn't complain because it was just an overnighter for us and I know there isn't staff for cleaning that late, but still pretty gross, especially when you're paying $200+ for a night. The rooms are a bit dated, especially in the bathrooms. Would stay again if needed, but there are plenty of other places in the immediate area that would more likely be our first choices.

Mine was a king bed room with a kitchenette (microwave, induction cooktop, sink, and full size refrigerator). There were two tvs, a loveseat, small coffee table with ottoman type that could seat two. The shower was walk in and had good water pressure (very important). There is a pool (didn't use myself) and a gym pictured below. The gym had two flat benches, weight rack with light weights (heaviest 40lbs), squat rack, recumbent bike, peloton bike (your own login required). Not pictured are light medicine balls, 3 treadmills (only 2 working at time of my visit), stair master and elliptical. Towels and water provided. Overall, very good value for a quick stay. Won't hesitate to go back.

After…read moreturning off the main drag, there is a traffic light that marks the entrance to the parking lot, but it (the traffic light) has not been activated yet. There is not even a large sign that lets the public know that this hotel exists. I am quite impressed with this place. It is a three-story hotel with all the basic amenities of home; hence, the name..."My PlaceHotel". It has an adequate lobby that has sturdy seating (some sofas and low chairs as well as a couple of bistro sets) and a large tv. The check-in area reminded me more of a curved bar than a hotel desk reception area. Next to it is the convenience store/pantry, which offers a nice variety of items, from foods, pharmaceuticals, and even housewares. At check-in, I wondered why this store sold pots, pans and other kitchen items. My room amenities would later answer this question for me. Once we went into the room, we were greeted by a FULL-SIZE refrigerator & microwave, coffee maker, spacious cabinets and a small sink, complete with cloth towels, paper towels and liquid dish soap. All these things were in the kitchen area. WHAT?!?! For hanging clothes storage, there is a nice-sized closet that houses a full-size ironing board, iron, hangers and a large clothes basket. While the bathroom was not overly spacious, it had an adequate size and contained my personal favorite- Neutragena brand toiletries. The size of our room with 2 queen-size beds was a bit more spacious than the typical hotel room. There was actually ample space to walk between the end of the bed and the desk that is against the wall. In terms of space, It really seems like this room is wheelchair accessible even though it is on the 2nd floor. I hope the other rooms in the hotel have similar dimensions and spaciousness. For recreation, there is a covered picnic area with two charcoal grills, a few tables and numerous chairs. Since the hotel is pet-friendly, there are about four stations around the grounds that supply bags for you to clean up after your beloved pet. Let me repeat... I just cannot stress just how impressed I am with this property. It offers just about all the amenities of home including a friendly and helpful staff. I believe we have found the place that we will stay on our repeated trips to Marion.

When I asked for the change, they did not have any more rooms, kept me on the phone for nearly 45 minutes, and basically told me to take it or leave it. While I understand that the room requested wasn't available, it wasn't a terribly positive discussion. I requested a digital key, and checked in. When I got to the hotel, still didn't have they key, and had to go to the desk to check in. While at the desk, I asked a question about the wedding I was attending, that had a block. They didn't know anything about the wedding. I had requested 2 beds, and the room assigned was a king suite with a sofa bed. Check the bed for linens, no linens, so have to go back to the desk a second time and got the linens easily, but they should be in the room. The hallway smelled like cigarettes and there was a weird alarm that went off sporadically in the hall several times during the night.

I knew I was going to love this place when I was greeted by the golden retriever Dakota when we arrived. Yet another lovely pooch greeted us at the door, Miss Wrigley. Loved having the pets around. The garden and home are amazing. Really quite lovely. They also have a beautiful pool with lounge area and a lovely big porch in the front of the home. We stayed in the Berllan Glen room. It's gorgeous. Big bedroom area, very large bathroom area, and private porch. The pictures speak for themselves. Some folks may need a step stool to get into the bed :) The reason for the one start deduction is that I went to put my lingerie in the bureau. I saw a bunch of women's stockings all curled up inside in a drawer. I assumed someone forgot their clothes. Then I opened other drawers. They too were all filled. Then I went to the end table chest of drawers on both sides of the bed, they were full. I finally found a few empty drawers in the armoire with the TV. I also could not find a closet door that would open. I eventually figured out there were two rods to hang clothes on on either end of the armoire. I believe the lovely hostess should've told us that there were clothes in our room and where we could hang or put ours clothes away. I found it off putting and quite odd to have someone else's clothes in the furniture. I've since asked other friends and family and they too agree that is quite odd. Anyway, the breakfast in the morning was delicious. Lovely spread. Apparently, you can arrange for dinner at the home, but you have to let the innkeepers know in advance. The house is chock full of items for decoration and has a tiny little gift shop where I did purchase some private label Earl Grey tea that's quite yummy. As a very nice touch they do have complementary sodas, water, and snacks for the guests. One can also purchase wine, if desired. There is also a coffee bar and tea bar. I was so pleased to see a tea bar because so few places have that. My only small issue with that is that there's no milk available--only in the mornings when the coffee bar has their half-and-half out. I didn't realize they have "operating" hours. The innkeepers are available until 9 at night, unless an emergency. I finally figured that out on a card they left in the room on the bureau with fresh water. It's about a seven minute ride to the actual Town of Granville. The town is a must see! The Whit's ice cream is delicious. All in all, it's a lovely place, except for the fact that I had that issue with putting my clothes away.
