They're down in Los Angeles (early January 2022).

Note: this was Trap Kitchen PDX's "Red" truck, which is their seafood truck? Ordered the garlic noodle... $15 + tax + tip seemed a bit steep for what was a pretty forgettable garlic noodle. Bits of green onion and something else were a nice touch, the brown sauce on top was not the usual sauce I associate with garlic noodle but I didn't mind something a little different... so ultimately it was the price that kinda hurt. I realize food isn't cheap these days but by the time I left after tax and tip and credit card fee it was more than $20. Now... $20 for some amazing garlic noodles, I could totally get behind. In fact I have had some delicious garlic noodles up the road from where they were stopped, and some, indeed, amazing garlic noodles a good ways down the road from where they were stopped. But... these were a good bit short of amazing. I will leave it at that.

I got the Catfish and mac n cheese. I wanted to try the garlic noodles with steak but they didn't have any garlic noodles the day I went. The catfish was crispy and homemade ranch was a nice touch. The mac and cheese had a generous amount of cheese but wasn't very creamy. I thought it was a tad dense. The food here is solid but I've had better catfish and mac n cheese numerous of other places in Portland.

We made it to the trap!! @trapkitchenpdx that is! And boy, let me tell you....it did not disappoint!! They had lots of items to choose from that all sounded good! I ended up ordering the shrimp garlic noodles....bomb choice!! The food was made fresh and served piping hot! It took about 20 minutes for my order and I was more than happy to wait for a fresh meal! The flavors were spot on!!! I don't usually order noodles like this, but I'm glad I did! My only criticism is I could've used more garlic!! I love garlic!! I love how they added the spicy and sweet sauces to the top, a little hoisin and a little sirachi really went a long way! It added the perfect kick and flavor! The prices are a bit high, especially for a food truck. The noodles were $20, but felt more like a $16 meal. The next time you see the Trap Truck....stop!!! You won't be disappointed!! PS, I heard the pineapple rice bowl is the next item I must try!! Have you been to the trap yet?!?

"Any fool with a spatula can make a Po Boy, but only a real chef can operate a food truck." The setting was 1991 Los Angeles, California. Living in this area I knew some who were in gangs and I knew some who cooked. You know how it goes. But me and my boy Ricky loved food; see, I didn't really cook, but he was known in the city for fine cuisine. I was more of a soul food kind of cat. Well one day we got caught by some cross-town chefs and we split up. I was on one alley, and Ricky on another. Thats when it happened. I headed to Ricky's alley as soon as I seen the red car. I yelled RICKY!!!!!!! I was too late. When I found him on the ground, his fine dining shirt stained, his face blank. I grabbed him and thats when I saw him. He had been hit in the chest with a CAJUN PO BOY! From that day forward Ricky liked soul food and used salt. Haha! I just want to thank those of you who are still with me after my satire, but "DAMN" food truck with it's South Central, LA origins took me back to the BOYZ N DA HOOD days! On this occasion I ordered the Cajun Fish and Chips and the Cajun Po Boy. Both were extremely flavorful and were nicely seasoned. You could tell that this is a truck that went to great lengths to prepare each item on a made-to-order basis. The fish was of good quality and not fishy with a flaky well seasoned exterior, while the Po Boy had large pieces of cajun shrimp and cajun salmon. The only down side was that they ran out of fries and were going away mac and cheese in it's place. The mac was good could've used a little more seasoning to separate it from the pack (they do serve a loaded style of mac and cheese that can have shrimp or steak and etc, that would probably make up for this). Both items were $15. Needless to say, I will be back! PROS: - Good service - Located right by street - Made fresh - Food - A Tourist Foodie "must" CONS: - Price $$ - Outdoor Seating - Large for a food truck, but limited menu

We finally got to try one of the most talked about food trucks serving SoCal soul food in pdx- with stars such as Amine, CJ McCollum, and Snoop Dogg as fans. Pictured is the TK Rich Boy sandwich, Philly Steak, and the Trap Mac. Overall I loved the TK Rich Boy because it was unique with the combined fried shrimp and salmon and the sauce was bomb. We definitely see and taste the hype and think everyone should try this spot out at least once.

This is probably the best BBQ I have seen at a Food truck!

I just want to say that I couldn't wait to try this spot out. I happened to see Trap Kitchen on tv one afternoon and immediately started following them on IG. So you can imagine how happy I was when I saw that they opened up shop in PDX. Yesssssssss. I packed up the fam and we headed out on a Saturday. Their menu is on a rotation and changes daily. Saturday was BBQ day. I had the chicken wings and pork ribs. The boys had hotlinks and ribs. We also grabbed a strawberry lemonade cake but everyone was so full we didn't eat it. But it didn't go to waste. I posted photos of the meals but the potato salad wasn't in the photos. The cost.....is $20. But I knew that going in. So it wasn't a shock. So if you are reading this....know before you go. I wish I would've had a chance to try their gumbo or pineapple bowls but I have to come back on a different day for those. But what we did have was so good!!! Unfortunately for me, I don't eat mac & cheese, baked beans or potato salad, too many carbs so that was all divided by my son and daughter. They absolutely loved the beans which were perfectly sweet and had bits of bacon in it. The guys working were nice and from the looks of it, business was boomin'. My only request is to be able to order the meat ala carte since I can't eat the sides. Maybe you already can but I didn't see that on the menu. It just had the dinner for $20. But aside from that the food was good and I hope they continue to be successful.

Issa trap! Located in a pretty sketchy area, but that's what Trap Kitchen issabout. Be prepared to bring your cash and use the bathroom beforehand. Comfort food that makes you want to curl up in a blanket and binge watch on Netflix. They're famous for their pineapple bowls ($20 a pop) which consists of a variety of goodies. Really though, it's all for the gram right? I didn't care for it, so I got the shrimp and salmon fried rice. Not one of their most ordered things, but I go for what I like and what I was craving for. Verdict: Fried rice was fresh and an explosion of different flavors put together. Sweet, salty, tangy, smoky. Everything. Plenty of protein and portion was for a big man. 3/5. The flavors could probably dial back a notch and the incorporation of rice and proteins could have been better. What he had, the Big Boy Plate. Fried chicken, shrimp, lobster with side of fries and mac n cheese. Meh. Another 3/5 for me. It was good, but after NOLA, this didn't meet my expectations. Sure, it was good because who doesn't like all the fried sins in one plate? I would encourage more on the batter and portions of the mac n cheese because that was the star. I wouldn't say I loved their food. But I also wouldn't say I hate it. For days when you're missing home and you're depressed because you live in the state with a 80% rate of SAD, you almost just want to come here. Because they also have CAKE. Oreo Red Velvet Cake. And then with free ice cream. ISSA TRAP! :D

I ordered the shrimp x steak w. garlic noodles which were pretty good, but not realizing the seasoning/spice level of it, unfortunately I couldn't finish it all due to health reasons. I had a bit of a wait for the order to be prepared , which is totally fine being as there was only one chef who I presume is the owner. I'd try again it again but maybe something else on the menu that agrees a bit better w.me .

We ordered: Pineapple Bowl TK Rich Girl Fish Basket All ingredients were fresh. The main truck (black & red) had the best food and service. The gentleman was very kind. The crispy breading is fried to perfection. I like seafood and they got it down. The pineapple bowl wasn't my favorite only because I don't like warm pineapple. However, once I put it in the fridge and ate it the next day, it smacked! The juice from the pineapple kept the rice moist so it wasn't hard the next day, it is very rare that you can eat race the next day and have it not be hard. Overall I will definitely be back! Thanks fella!

This is a truck so be sure to park on the lot next to the location, not the Subway lot. The menu is always interesting in terms of southern favorites and more common sides like the Mac and cheese. I ordered the specialty, the pineapple chicken. It was flavorful if not somewhat difficult to eat. I would prefer to go the pineapple holder and just get more cut up pineapple in the actual dish. Additionally, I ordered a side of mac and cheese that was way too salty to eat. I was kind of sad because the consistency and the cheesiness was perfect but that was just too much salt to ingest. I would definitely come back and try something different considering the diversity of the menu. Service was also fast and the food was hot so no complaints there.

Upon approaching the trap kitchen window the lady was gazing at us like we didnt belong there. Never said hello ,hi ,screw u or welcome to trap kitchen instead she sat there staring at us while she stuffed her toothless mouth w fries. Finally we said what we wanted to order and still no words from her.....1st of all everything was way too salty catfish and fries included....also ordered philly cheese steak it was salty as well....very pricey for average deep fried food maybe i shouldve ordered the lamb chops or a shrimp and salmon sandwich but after receiving the death stare from the worker i was a little hesitant to order anything..drove a long way to experience this place if i had to rate this place out of 10 it definitely gets a low 2....id avoid the Trash Kitchen all together ..get it together people.

Teen wanted boba, and we decided to order Mediterranean from this place which also strangely sells boba. Yes, I rewarded the chore avoidance. Sue me. We both ordered a Moroccan stewed chicken that comes with saffron rice, salad, and three spicy sauces - one yogurt and maybe sumac? , one sriracha, and one yogurt mixed with sriracha maybe? We liked the rice, chicken, salad, and the yogurt sauce. Just ok though. Not omg good. I wish the two other sauces had been in separate containers and not on the rice. My mint and honey tea was fine. Kid's boba was not full. Not because it spilled either, because it was sealed with the boba seal lid thingy. For $6 that was disappointing. The hummus was not great. Teen ( the dolmades fan) said the grape leaves were good. Probably not a repeat in store. One and done.
