This place had my suburban for 28 days and made it go from having a delayed 1-2 upshift to having to coast into my driveway with total transmission failure, 31 miles later. They installed a new $500 valve body, which had no beneficial effect, then at my request reinstalled the valve body my car came with, also with no beneficial effect. They did install a $41 TV cable, which it needed but which O'Reillys has for $26. I think that they just don't have the intelligence, background, or training, even for one of the world's most common transmissions. I should have gone to Riverside or Fontana or anywhere else. read more

This shop is awesome. We were stranded with a dead transmission two days before Thanksgiving while visiting Yucca Valley. The kind folks at this shop were able to get us in the shop on the day before the holiday and finished the install of a new transmission that day. It was divine timing that worked out in our favor. Carrie in the office had excellent communication during the entire repair. We were back on the road lickety split. I did drive the truck around town and about an hour away in the days following to test it out but i didn't notice that there still was an issue with the truck until we arrived home, several hours away. True to the warranty, this shop is helping to get the truck back to Yucca Valley to evaluate the issue. They stand by their work. Extremely impressed and highly recommended! read more

Well, sorry if you had a transmission put in 10 months ago, they aren't honoring their warranties. My warranty said 12 months or 12,000 miles. It's only been 10 months and 3,000 miles and they are telling me the new "owners" are not honoring the old warranties. Even though this was less than a year ago. Buyer beware. I'm a senior citizen on a fixed income. The are telling me I have no recourse of action. read more

On our travels to Joshua Tree, we had a transmission cooling hose rupture!! Father and son, Ceasar and Chino, took us right away. They worked tirelessly for hours to fix the truck, so our trip wouldn't be ruined. We were truly amazed and inspired by their kindness. I will give them my business whenever possible. Though I'm not from the area, I would seriously travel their way to fix other vehicles. Their kind of honesty is a rarity these days. Carrie was fabulous, too. read more

If you want to get ripped off for $1200 go to this shop!!They will say they will fix your transmission and do something to make it work only temporarily and not warranty anything!!! Very dishonest people!!! Had to take my transmission to another shop to have it rebuilt only a month later and six different parts had to be replaced that were broken!!They will not own up to their poor quality work and will even try to charge more $$$ after you confront them with issues that's should have been fixed in the first place!!!! read more

They wanted $100 just to diagnose a transfer case leak. I refused and went to Woods where they diagnosed for free. Too many bad reviews here to use them By the way I asked for a quote to install transfer case low range actuator and no response. I'm taking it to.the Toyota dealer read more

Hey Yelp Fans, As you know, I give ONE or FIVE stars and sadly Transmissions Experts is a ONE. I would have done ZERO, if possible. Here's what happened... I lost my job in May 2021 due to Covid and I needed a new transmission. Carrie was wonderful in helping me as I found a transmission through a company they work with and it was the cheapest bid $3238.64. EXCITED, I was about to set up the appointment when Carrie told me HER BOSS refused to purchase the transmission using his wholesale license and I had to get it. WTF??? I don't have a wholesale license and explained that to Carrie. She said her boss refused to help me. I asked her if he would consider a "random act of kindness" given my lack of employment. She called me back and said, "My boss said, NO." I was SHOCKED and then she said, he would do it for an extra $500. WOW! Really!! I would NEVER recommend this place as it is a SCAM. So many people lost loved ones to Covid and this business clearly has no compassion. Side Note: I see the owner addressed my Yelp. You will notice that he DID NOT refute ANY of my claims and sidetracked the entire issue. The FACT is HE could have purchased the transmission at the cost I found it at, but refused to do so and the computer did not "automatically" add the added amount. HE DID. IT was HIS COMPUTER. I know this because I just got off the phone with Transtar and they told me they DON'T ADD to the price of their parts. That's up to the repair shop. read more

Carrie, Freddie, Omar, and the rest of the crew were friendly, honest, and went beyond expectations to repair our van the same day. Calling around town for an emergency repair, they were the only shop that would see us the next day. We're thrilled with this family-owned business' exceptionally fast service, professional manner, plus transparent and reasonable pricing. They replaced an axle, fixed leaking transmission fluid, and did an oil change all in one day (including ordering parts). read more

Checked fluids on my old 1991 Silverado after not touching it for over 6 months. Found my transmission fluid at the very tip of the dip stick. Looked under and found a leak. I found this company on Yelp and went off the reviews. I called for a walk in, they accepted, i got there and explained the situation and right away after looking at it, i believe it was Eddie? Or Freddie? Said it needed a regular adjustment and gasket replacements. The truck has 220k miles and still running The transmission service and fluid replacement took a little over an hour. New gaskets, new fluid, and replacement parts. It was a good price. The young lady at the desk was also friendly. This is my 2 week review. Maintenance is very important. Make sure to maintain your transmission just like you do your motor! read more

Having a 26 year old vehicle means that something is going wrong all the time. I keep coming back to Transmission Experts because they get the job done and are so good about following up if you feel like there's still an issue. They've had my van apart so many times over the years that they could probably work on it in their sleep! read more

Sloppy work. My dad took their transmission to them to be rebuilt. They agreed to fix it in two weeks, but after they could not find the rebuild kit (after two months). When he called them to check on the transmission and/or pick it up they told they told him they could not fix it (they could not find the parts), returned the transmission to him with broken housing (which they broke) and charged him $300. Avoid them at all costs. read more

Highly Highly recommend Transmission Experts. They went above and beyond on fixing my 97 Ford Ranger. I took it in to have the clutched replaced. I've got to say my truck is running amazing!!. The team at Transmission Experts will apply professional expertise until the job's done! Had extremely unique issue with secondary drive shaft from transfer case. On Friday at 3:30 drove into the shop gravel grinding in the bearings. The Transmission Expert's team worked in freezing conditions until 6:30 in the evening to get me safely back on the road. Was two and a half hours away from my home and would have been stranded- very very grateful! read more

Highly recommend Freddy's shop. My Eurovan broke down on the Monday before Thanksgiving and Freddy got it done but Thursday (yes, Thanksgiving). Driving back to Colorado now and feel secure on the rebuilt transmission. Eurovans have a tricky transmission but I felt comfortable in this crew's knowledge and sense of urgency. I typed a full review on Google (maps), unfortunately Yelp doesn't let me paste it here and it's a bit too long for me to type again. But if they did the Eurovan they can do your car. I appreciated their professionalism and sense of urgency to get it done before my drive home. Highly recommend them. Read my review on Google but don't hesitate to take your car there. read more

Run from this place! Their diagnosis was WRONG and not only would have cost me over $500, but wouldn't fix the problem! Plus Fred promised to provide a ride home, but when I asked for a receipt since I was leaving my vehicle, he said he wouldn't give me a ride afterall since I didn't trust him and it took him more time to make a receipt! Then he drove away and left me standing in the road. Double talk and lies is what you will get here. Don't waste your time and money! read more

Highly recommend! I felt cared for. Freddy explained everything for me so I understood what he needed to do to replace my transmission. I was living in my van at the time and he even allowed me to stay in my van on his lot over night and offered electric and a heater!! read more

Thanks guys!! My car was having a hard time shifting so I called and they got me right in. They serviced the transmission with a flush and an inspection. They car shifts like new and I was back in the road quickly. It's tough to find a quality auto repair shop but I found it here and am thankful. I'm extremely picky on who touches my vehicles and this is one shop I'll use over and over again. Thank you! read more

If I can put a no star I definitely would but it doesn't give me that . I went there a few weeks ago the lady in the office is a scammer she was trying to sell me a transmission an saying it was no good in my car, I didn't believe her so I went to a different shop in yucca an they did a tranny flush and that was it.no issues ,my car is still running and shifting fine. Be careful with this shop they just hurry an try to sell you parts and expensive ones you don't need ,I DON'T suggest this place stay far away and the technicians look like teenagers,I hope they are ase certified! read more

We are so blessed to have found Transmission Expects. We jumped in our motorhome and headed on our vacation from Northern California to Arizona. On our travels my husband, noticed a small transmission leak. And realized we would soon have a big problem. He called around to transmission shops. My husband knew when he talked to Freddy (the owner)on the phone he was honest and knowledgeable. Definitely the man to go to! After removing the transmission. Freddy let my husband Watch showing him what he thought the problem was because it was sent easy to diagnose. My husband who is very mechanical really appreciated this. Freddie definitely wanted the job done correctly. On top of all that he let us stay in our motorhome plug into his electricity gave us a key to his gate so we could come and go as we please if you're having troubles this is the man to see! God bless you Freddy!! read more

My husband took his van four a repair on his transmission didn't make it 5 miles down the road and he had to bring it back they had it for another week first time he had to go down the hill he was stuck on the side of the road out by the Salton Sea for 4 1/2 hours waiting for a tow truck that we had to pay for now we are being put on the back burner he is missing work for every day that his van is downI would not recommend the shop to anyone read more

Highly questionable practices with Freddy and his shop! I took my Rav4 toyota in to his shop - as the transmission was slipping occasionally. He told me it was $120 to checkout what was going on. A week later he tells me I need a transmission rebuild and that hes pulled apart my transmission. I was backed into a corner to use his shop to rebuild the tranny as he informed me it would be $1200 to put back the transmission as is. I agreed, 3 months later and twice built he couldnt get it right. I got the automotive bureau involved at this point, who told him to give the car and the money I paid back to him. I am now left with an undriveable car as he just slapped it all back together in a day and left it at that. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS BAD MECHANIC read more

My husband's van needed a new transmission took it in they have exceeded expectations and taken on all responsibility van runs perfect I posted a previous review that was Not goodI acted hastily And posted out of emotion please guys have gone above and beyond to get my husband's van on the road again I appreciate all their work yet read more

I went to transmission experts in yucca valley to get my transfer case filler bolt replaced an fluid added to my transfer case. Picked it up on 3/17 paid $175 for the bill. Went down the road to get a coffee noticed that there was fluid coming out from underneath the truck crawled underneath it,the fluid was leaking from the transfer case on the right side, missing bolt an possibly gasket wasn't going because of how bad the leak is. I end up getting it towed home. I called the next morning to the office. To explain my situation,I just get arguments from the office lady an a technician, about how they don't need my little money haha so rude still good enough to take. I was just trying to explain my situation an ask about the transfer case fluid that looked straight black and that the leak was Soo severe had to be towed. Over the phone at third person was on the phone it was a technician from him explaining he didn't see the leak.thanks to the third person on the phone that actually was talking to me normally.all I was trying to do is explain my situation an ask why the fluid was black like was it forgetting to get replaced with new or what. I got start arguments on that . An letting me drive off with severe leak to where I just had to get it towed. I'm never doing any type of work with them. One situation tried to get resolved an just got arguments from the office lady super unprofessional an rude. I probably would have went back to get my transfer case replaced or other work. But just from the situation the just became a easy argument. I'm never going there or referring anyone. I hope this saved someone else from having this issue. read more
