Not only were the folks at TransMedics responsive and knowledgeable, their warranty was far superior AND they were the lowest cost! Didn't think that was possible. When I took my truck in for the repair, they did a full inspection, and found a couple oil leaks. They offered to do those for me, and gave me a very fair price. I've had a couple interactions since the repair and they've been wonderful to deal with, and have stood behind their work. While we were away on a long anniversary trip the team at TransMedics accepted and repaired my rear axle in my 2015 Ram 1500. I originally took my truck to our main mechanic shop and when they could not do the rebuild they transported the truck to TM and so glad they did. TM came in just below the original estimate and called me to discuss a performance upgrade if I wanted it, to save money and time while the rear end was open. So I bought a van that has recently had the transmission rebuilt by Transmedic, around 10 thousand miles the torque converter failed, since the guy I bought it kept the paperwork that mentioned the warranty, so I live in Myrtle Beach, so I called the shop talked to Alan and he said if I bring it in they would look at it and let me know what the issue is and what it would cost to repair, I hauled it up there , they tore it down told me the problem and told me they would honor the warranty, they have no idea what a blessing this was and is to us at this moment in our lives, so if your in the Raleigh area I highly recommend these guys, they stand behind there survices.. read more

Of course they told me it was and said I should get it replaced for $4,000. They also told me my break pads were "metal on metal". Brought the car to a dealership for a second opinion. I've been going here for a few years now and wish I had found them when I moved to Raleigh 11 years ago. They are honest, trustworthy and reliable, with fair prices to boot. One thing that really made me smile today- took my car in for an oil change and inspection and had a low tire pressure alert on my car. I hadn't taken care of it myself because of the cold snap Raleigh has had lately. I forgot to tell them about it ahead of time/ask them to inflate my tires. But when they gave me my keys back and I turned the car on, lo and behold, no error message - they'd inflated them for me. Not a huge deal, no - but I specifically asked a speedy oil change place years ago to inflate them and the error message was still there when I left. They also re-installed this plastic piece that I brought in that had fallen off my front wheel well - no charge. It's nice to feel taken care of :) read more

Transmedics earned my complete distrust. I took my car here because it was having some transmission performance issues, hard shift and some slipping. They have a free diagnostic here which I initially thought that was nice. Got my car back by the end of the day with a $4000 quote for a transmission rebuild. The front desk guy said the very words "theres no magic formula or way to get around it, your transmission will need a full rebuild." What they FAILED to do was check the transmission fluid level and check to see if there was any leaks. I took it to a different mechanic and they found a transmission fluid leak at the radiator, he said that that is where the transmission cooler was, and they would have to just replace the radiator and refill transmission fluid & coolant. So that was a $600 fix, and now my transmission is running smooth as butter! Replacing the radiator fixed the whole transmission performance issue. Had I signed transmedics paper, and gave authorization to rebuild my transmission I would have dumped my money into a pointless hole. Moral of the story, if you want a FREE neglectful diagnistic only to dump your money into a hole, to discover that it didn't even fix the issue, then come here! Luckily I was a skeptic about it and took it to someone else. Hope this helps the reader. read more

I've had an intermittent issue with my truck since December. One so-called mechanic told me it was probably my injectors. Then he decided to replace both my batteries without even testing them. Second so-called mechanic swore he was the best at everything. He knew little about a diesel, just kept wanting to charge me to read codes. TransMedics came recommended to me and the gentleman I spoke with basically diagnosed the problem over the phone. Called it an easy fix. He definitely knew his stuff. I brought in my 2007 FJ Cruiser because it was shuddering when changing gears. After a couple of days I got the call that the entire unit would have to be rebuilt, they quoted me a fair price and I authorized them to do the work. Several days later I got the call that it was ready to be picked up. I picked it up and drove home. After a couple of days though the shuddering returned- the exact same problem it went in the shop with. I had to take the truck back over and go through the process a second time. They explained that this was due to a defective part that apparently came from Toyota that way. Maybe they should make sure parts are in spec before installing them? That being said, they honored the warranty and the service was good, but I cannot honestly tell you that the job was done right the first time. read more

2004 Cadillac Deville in need of valve-cover gaskets and transmission pan gasket. Fantastic! I have finally found a mechanic that I can depend upon, especially in a pinch. In a nut shell, they quoted me one price, only to undercut that when all was said and done. They said the work would be ready in 4 days, only to have it ready in 3. But here's the best part. They were closed on the day that I could only pick it up-on. The receptionist was willing to send her husband over on a day they were closed to meet me, so that I could get the key. Are you kidding me, the receptionist? Car runs great. They suggested a few other repairs that I wasn't ready to engage. No aggravating pressure to spend more. This is my second review. Had trouble rebuilding my transmission in a 2005 Buick. The owner, David Sheets, stated he would order a factory rebuilt and swap mine out. I marked the old one just to be sure. When he stated the job was done, the same transmission was in my car. He flat out lied. 2002 Honda Civic with likely the original transmission and 160K. Just like the website says, they came and towed it from my house on Monday, and it was ready on Thursday. This was a full on rebuild... major surgery. Running great still today!
