Went to Transformations today because my neck and shoulder area has been bothering me for quite some time. And I really wanted to get into some place this weekend. A friend of mine referred me to Transformations. Got there and was greeted by a wonderful lady. Got a some water and a little gift bag. Trinity was my masseuse, OMG she was so awesome. Had my wife come in for a consult and scheduling of a haircut for herself for her birthday as a little treat to herself, but then "somehow" it got deleted out of the schedule, and now they're saying there's nothing they can do for her today and they have to schedule her out for next month. Unacceptable behavior, zero accountability. Pathetic. Recommend looking elsewhere for more professional service. read more

I love this place I have been here twice. They have everything you need to pamper yourself. They have a full hair salon, nails, facials and massages. I love their set up everything is separated so if you're in the salong part you don't see the nail section or the spa section either. The nail and spa side has a separate waiting room from the hair salon which pretty neat. My first time here I got a facial which was very relaxing and a pedicure after my facial. Second time I visited was for a haircut my hairstylist was Abby and she was great. She really listen to what I wanted done during our consultation. Great attitude and the haircut was perfect just what I wanted. I was a little nervous trying out a new stylist but I'm glad I found Abby. read more

I was there Friday for 4 hours and fifteen minutes for what I requested was a few more highlights through my middle part. Somehow I ended up with a head full of foils, very striped highlights that were yellow, a very clear line where they were highlighted. Their solution when I expressed I was unhappy, a more senior stylist to fix it. Well glad I could be an experiment for the less experienced stylist I got stuck with. read more

We came in for a $99 special that was advertised. My end bill was $218.28 plus tip. And this was for a beginner stylist. The extra charges were not discussed with me, this is a crazy price. Long Hair extra time= extra $50, salon scale= extra $36.71, Leaf & Flower CBD treatment = extra $10, Bond Pro= extra $20. The extra treatments were never discussed nor were the up charges. We were not pleased with the surprise cost at the end. Update: I did talk with manager and they said that is not normal practice to charge extra without discussing and they were willing to correct some of the charges. read more

I love this place!!! First of all the atmosphere is fabulous when you walk in. Every person who works there is incredibly nice and friendly. Booking appointments is easy. There are so many options for massages and skin treatments. I have had several facials, hydra facial, and dermaplaning. They do an excellent job. I always feel 10 years younger when I leave. I also get A LOT of massages to help ease tension headaches. Every masseuse there is incredibly well trained and able to ease my pain. It really is amazing. I recently started using the hair services as well. I wanted to try a grey blend and was having a difficult time finding a stylist who could do it well. I made an appointment with a level four stylist and I'm one appointment was able to start the transformation! I get constant compliments and am really looking forward to thee second step. Delaney walked me through the process and did amazing work. Finally, the best part of transformations is that they have daily and seasonal specials. Almost every day I get an email offering a daily deal on massages and facials. I take advantage of these all the time! And they have incredible seasonal packages that are always an amazing discount. I cannot recommend this place enough. There is a slight problem with soundproofing in the treatment rooms but I think all the great other stuff outweighs that! read more

I definitely recommend Transformations Salon and Spa. The massages, facials, manis, and pedis are all great. I've also had my hair cut and colored there. The first time that I went, I was a little put off because it is in a strip mall and didn't look like much from the outside, but if you go in, you'll see for yourself that it is really relaxing and peaceful inside. You can spend some time in the relaxation room before your spa services. They also have good products. I highly recommend Kenna for facials and Leah for hair. read more

I can't say enough good things about how nice the staff was, they were super friendly. I went in today and got a mani pedi, it was nice but it was not $77 dollars nice(w/out tip). The atmosphere is pretty dated and I wasn't very impressed with the cleanliness of the foot spa area or manicure area. I really felt like the price of what I got wasn't accurate for what I actually received. I was glad I had a gift card because I would not have paid that. My nails don't look that great, I still have paint on my hands and chips in the polish that I didn't notice Until i got out. I really didn't feel anymore pampered when I walked out as I did when I walked in. Sadly I will not be returning. I am attaching some pictures of my nails. I will save you pictures of my hideous feet but they look the same. Again the staff was friendly and nice but for the price I am really not that satisfied. read more

I have curly hair and saw this salon listed at a Devacurl Website. I mentioned that when making my appointment. The stylist I had was nice but really was not a specialist with curly hair and not worth the high price. She stated she used to have curly hair and yes, she had probably watched a Devacurl training video but after already reading about going naturally curly, she didn't teach me anything new nor have any curly products available. One thing I especially did not care for was their separate coloring room as if you had to hide if you received coloring, not attractive especially with stains on the flooring. read more

Fantastic time! My daughter and I did the "Day for Eve" package and it was wonderful. The staff and kind, welcoming and very attentive. We were welcomed by the receptionist who hung up our coats and asked if we anything to drink and was taken to a tranquil room to complete our paperwork and wait for our services to start. We had our massages and facials done at the same time in different rooms. Both of us enjoyed ourselves and were relaxed and feeling refreshed. After, we were treated to lunch, which I thought would be a throw away but was actually quite good. We then were taken together to have our mani-pedicures. If you go to Transformations, don't let the outside fool you. It's location, in a strip mall at Madison & Stop 11, is deceptive. Transformations is a great place to go for hair cuts and styling, as well as facials and other spa services. Vivian, the owner, and her staff do an amazing job! Sadly, I haven't been here in a while because I've been trying to cut back my budget on a few extravagances and facials, by definition, are just a bit pricey, right? However, if I decide to splurge on them again, Transformations will be the place I will go. I thought the experience at Transformations was just as nice as Studio 2000 on the circle. The atmosphere in the spa is very calm and soothing, and certainly not what you would expect to encounter at a southside strip mall! The towels and robes are plush, and the aesthetician that I always went to - Tina - was great, although they do encourage you to use the entire skin care line that they sell. It's not high pressure, but they do let you know that you'll have the best results if you use it. I also had Vivian cut and style my hair several times - she is really creative and even gave me some funky purple highlights a couple years ago! I highly recommend Transformations to anyone on the south side who is looking for a high-quality salon and spa. They offer different spa packages as specials every month, and you can find out all about them on the salon's website. Its in a strip mall, like almost anything in Indianapolis, but this strip mall is not as (how do I put it nicely?) well-maintained as others. I have visited this salon/spa for a haircut and deep conditioning treatment on one occasion and a massage on another. All services provided were excellent and reasonably priced. I can't recall ever having a bad spa service here. I've come on and off for years, but I recently signed up for its Platinum Spa Membership. This affords me two spa services (from a list: facial, Swedish massage, mani-pedi, and others) at a discounted rate with a recurring monthly payment. I'm also privy to discounted services and products at any time during the month. The available add-ons to any available service are widely varied and quite impressive. They can address any number of issues with your skin or body (or even your mind, if you count the calming benefits of aromatherapy)---just ask! Although the information junkie in me would totally love a chart of all the little things available... I mostly started the spa membership because I'm in need of massages to chill my tense muscles after a recent shoulder surgery. I typically see Rachael, and we have a battle plan for relieving the muscle pain my surgery has caused. It's working wonders. Small add-ons like hot stone massage or integrated massage (a combo of Swedish and deep tissue) when needed are very helpful, and the therapists are very flexible. I've also seen Jim, who has a special knack for lower back issues, which I also suffer with. Both massage therapists are great listeners who do exactly what my muscles require each visit, and I leave feeling so much better. As someone who needs massage for pain management rather than mere relaxation, I can't ask for more than that! Today I opted for a facial with Emily, which is what prompted this (delayed) review. She did an excellent evaluation of my skin, and used the products she knew would make a difference for my particular issues. And a few weeks ago the salon had a little Easter egg hunt, and I won a free marshmallow balm drizzle with the shoulder/arm/foot massage portion of a facial (done while the mask is setting), so I had that today, as well. Totally fun! My skin looks like a million bucks. It's soft, hydrated---just amazing. I'm prone to break out, and while it didn't eliminate every blemish from my face, the fresh, dewy glow I have on my typically tired, lackluster complexion is remarkable. Thank you, Emily! Yes, the strip mall housing Transformations is kind of a mess. It's conveniently located as far as the south side goes, but it needs some significant upgrades. Hopefully as Greenwood's revitalization continues, perhaps this section of the Southside will also up its game. One more note: As far as stylists go, I've never really clicked with anyone there for hair. No bad experiences with a stylist---just didn't find The One, and it's been several years, so I don't feel like I can adequately speak to the salon experience there. read more

I had a great experience at Transformations. I decided to try this place out for my birthday pampering. I did the integrated massage with the hot stone enhancement, foot cream/warm towel enhancement, and lip peel enhancement. My masseuse was great. She chatted some during the first few minutes during my massage to get to know me, then once we she settled in I don't even know when I fell asleep. Everyone I encountered was very sweet. Great salon! They did a wonderful job on my hair but the price on the website isn't correct i guess. The website says a cut and style is $31, but when i am paying the lady tells me it's actually $51. While the outside isn't much to brag about, they've transformed the inside into a passable spa space. I have been going regularly to get massages from Kayla--even more affordable with the VIP spa package, where you get two treatments per month. I haven't tried many other services. I have been going to Transformations Salon and Spa since ~2010. I have received hair, nail, and spa services from a variety of their employees. My favorite services are the deep tissue massage, swedish massage, and the hydra facial. I have also been a monthly membership holder and enjoyed utilizing those services more frequently during very stressful personal times. I even brought my bridesmaids here for pampering! If you're looking for a spa on the south side of Indianapolis/Greenwood I highly recommend them for their service, customer service, large group accommodations, and reasonable pricing. read more

Very relaxing ambiance throughout the whole salon and spa. From the moment I entered, I was surprised to feel instantly relaxed. It wasn't hard to find as I learned from other reviews that it was in a strip mall. They were very organized knowing who I was and what I was there for. Someone took me to a room with fresh baked cookies, coffee, and water while I filled out my client form and waited for my massage therapist. She came just a minute after I finished and showed me to the room. She asked me for any problem areas, gave me some instructions and slipped out. After a relaxing hour, I was so calm and happy. I was walked out and greeted by another friendly staff member. She gave me a 'first timer' bag of goodies and I took a fresh cup of coffee to go. Just had an appointment with Ana. She is absolutely wonderful. She took her time and even talked quite a bit with me on how to care for my nails along with recommending some good products to use. She also had just plain human conversation with me which I so appreciate! My experience with a competitor nail salon I was treated like they just wanted to hurry me through and give me your money.
