I have nothing but good things to say about Transform 180. I joined several months ago to work on core and upper body strength (both of which I was sorely lacking in). I really wanted to have a female trainer, and I found the perfect one in Rena. She is incredibly encouraging when I do well, but not at all afraid to push me. She can always tell when I'm really at my limit and when I can do just a few more reps or a slightly higher weight. I have been telling all my friends about this gym and have decided to tell the world. This place is literally the best. I have always been pretty fit, but over the last couple years I've stopped playing sports and I started to develop a gut. My pants didn't fit anymore so I knew I had to make a drastic change. I've always tried to lift by myself before but my form was never great and I kept hurting myself. I looked around on Yelp and found this gym. I'm so glad I did. This place is amazing. Charith runs an impeccable gym. All his trainers are great - super nice and super knowledgeable. I got paired with Nate and I'm so happy I did. Nate is amazing. I am writing this review mainly because of how good he is. Knowledge - Nate studied exercise science so in working out, he was able to tell me the exact parts of the body we were targeting, how to lift more, and how to eat well. He knew exactly how to fix my form by making little tweaks here and there. It's one thing to watch videos and read online forums, but it's another to have someone guide you until you get it right. Attitude - This is the reason Nate is so good. He knew exactly when to push me, exactly when to pull back, exactly when to say good job, and exactly when to say "one more". I joined Training 180 to gain expert advice about the exercises that I should focus on based on the goals I set for my body. Courtney did exactly that. She was very quick in figuring out what my body requires to focus on in order to build a strong foundation. She planned our workouts accordingly, working on posture, mobility, glutes activation. Every day I learned something new at this gym. Courtney helped me push my limits and have confidence in my abilities. She motivated me during all our workouts and helped me set up a vegan meal plan. After 36 sessions I could notice that my posture has improved a lot, my stamina increased and I am active throughout the day. I've been training with Jennine for about two months, and I couldn't be happier with the results! I had hit a plateau with my weight loss, so I thought it would be a good time to implement weight training to lose more fat as well as build muscle so that I'd be toned when I reach my goal weight. Working with Jennine has been awesome. I had been intimidated by lifting for a long time, so it was great to have one-on-one time with someone who made sure I had proper form and pushed me past what I thought I could do. It's also helpful having someone that knows how to build on your strengths and target your weaknesses so that every session, you have a workout that's designed exactly for your body and your specific goals. I've made more progress in two months than I have in three years of working out by myself in college. Not only does working with Jennine give me a routine to stick to, the entire process is results-oriented--from taking body and weight measurements, to tracking your improvement each session. I'm the type of person that's motivated by results, and this structure has prevented me from the cycle of initial motivation, not seeing progress or knowing what to do, then hitting a wall and giving up. I have as much motivation as I did the day I started, and I really think that this was what I needed to turn me into the kind of person that actually enjoys working out. In two months, I've lost 7 pounds, 2.5% body fat, and 3.5 inches around the waist. I can definitely see the difference in my body, the way my clothes fit, and even my posture as I gain more muscle and become more fit. I'm a full-time student and have a job that takes up over 25 hours a week, and choosing to invest the time and money in this process has genuinely been one of the best decisions I've ever made. It's not often that you take the initiative to invest in yourself, your happiness, health, and wellbeing, and I can't recommend Transform 180 enough for allowing me to do all of those things! read more

I love this place!! What I like about this place is that my trainer pushes me hard, but doesn't try to break me, because he is invested in my long term benefits. He curates my experience based on my goals and my abilities and is patient with me. I've been going here for about 5 months now, and I just renewed my sessions, so now I'm good until summer (that's at least 6 more months). I've referred about 5 people so far and some have become regulars. My trainer in Adnan Mujic. After about 2 sessions I was sold he needs to be my trainer while I purse this transformation. My goals were 40 lbs. weight loss and I've lost 10 so far. While 100% of what you get out will be up to you, and if I controlled my diet better, I would have lost more weight by now, these workouts will get you in a regiment. First 4 months we spent time getting my body conditioned and now he pushes me harder and harder and I like it. We set goals for every 2-weeks and now it's fun to reach that milestone. If you're going to invest in anything this year, make that investment in yourself...workouts are just as much fun during as they are satisfying after. read more

If i had the chance to write a review for just my personal training service this place would deserve 10 stars because it exceeded my expectations. I had an outstanding experience training with Austin. Austin is knowledgeable, polite and professional and pushes his clients to achieve their best! I saw positive results and improvements in myself within 3 weeks of training. I was focused on strength training and can now confidently say that my personal trainer really made a difference. The reason I took the 2 stars off my review is because of the incessant issues I faced with my payments which I'd like to alert other clients of. For one, I was double charged at the smoothie shop owned by Transform 180. I stumbled into the double charge on my card because i just happen to audit my credit card statement. It was addressed by the owner because I reached out, but i really received no apology for the inconvenience and it sounded like they were doing me a favor to refund the money I wasn't supposed to be charged. Instead I was told something about using two cards which I honestly did not. Secondly, my trainer was suddenly informed that my package of 8 classes was completed when I had actually completed 7. I reached out to the owner to have this issue fixed and he indeed did fix it, but again sounded a lot like its my fault and he is doing me a favor. Each class of personal training costs over 75$ and it is no joke to be ripped off this amount. Incase I never went back and double checked my classes, I would've lost 75$. In reality its probably not the biggest financial loss, But I'd rather put my extra money to charity. I thought the payments were dealt with in a very irresponsible way. I would alert clients to keep an eye on their payments. Having said this, i do not disregard the outstanding training experience with Austin. @Charith - I am not bashing your business. I was saying the truth about my experience. You never acknowledged what wouldv'e been the case with my financial loss INCASE I never audited my credit cards or the number of classes I had remaining. You still seem very unapologetic about the experience. You are instead labeling me as someone that is bashing your business. Smoothie shop : I never asked to buy the smoothie. You offered to hold the shop open for me to buy a smoothie. That doesn't mean I get double charged. What wouldve happen if I never emailed you? Training session : Just FYI , Austin rescheduled me by himself once and I never cared about it. ALSO , my last class with Austin happen to be with one other person in parallel which I did not care about either. If I wanted , I could've ranted about how he conducted two classes in parallel and I ideally shouldn't have even been charged for this class either! If Austin has a problem with reschedule, he could've told me about it and i was more than happy to have not rescheduled. I haven't written anything wrong/faulty in my review above. I have just alerted clients to be careful about their payments which they rightfully should be. I am a fair person and will always acknowledge what is right and wrong about a place. I gave the due credit to the service offered so Kindly do not label me as a person that's "bashing" your business. I wish you the very best too. read more

I had a great time training with Colin at Transform 180. I discovered them through their Groupon deal and had such a good time with those sessions that I signed up for their 4 sessions/mo package. Throughout my months there, I could feel (and see with the weights) myself getting stronger. Colin was the perfect balance of challenging and encouraging. He would always try and sneak more weight on when I wasn't looking and had me lifting heavier weights than I ever had before. He was a blast to train with. Ultimately, I couldn't make the sessions fit into my wedding budget on top of my other workout classes I was paying for. If price wasn't a factor, I'd definitely still be going 1-2x/ week. This place really has transformed my life. It is all because of the excellent trainers that work at Transform 180 Training. In just ~1 year of training, I went from someone who was not comfortable at all being in the gym (since I had never worked out ever before) to someone who is now confident enough to do it on my own. They taught me everything I needed to know about how to do workouts successfully and safely. When I first started, I didn't even know what a barbell was or how to do a deadlift properly. Charith is the man. I've been training with Charith for the past 9 months, and I'm hooked. A former engineer turned personal trainer, Charith is all about fine tuning the details to make sure that I'm always getting the most benefit out of his workout that I possibly can. Charith makes sure to explain why I'm doing an exercise and what results I'll achieve by doing it (which makes the burn slightly more bearable). Over these past 9 months, I can't remember doing the same workout twice, so I've definitely never been bored. I started training with Charith because, among other things, I was running nearly everyday at the time and wasn't getting the resistance training I knew I needed to avoid injury. After I starting working out with Charith, I cut my running routine down to twice a week and trained with him once or twice a week. I ended up shaving 30 seconds off my average mile pace in a half marathon without any additional running or training. Pretty incredible, and it wasn't even a result I was looking for! Same goes for skiing - I can go hard all day with minimal soreness or stiffness the next day. Another wonderful unexpected result. Oh yea, and the aesthetic results aren't half bad either. He is knowledgeable about strength training, makes sure I am using the right form, has made it a point to understand my goals and has tailored the training to suit my requirements. After 2 cervical spine accidents in the past 6 years and endless physical therapy, Transform 180 is just what I needed to get back kicking. This place is airy, clean, well organized and spacious. All the trainers are very friendly and do not intimidate like other body building gyms. These guys are really invested. They are expanding to add an endurance room and smoothie bar by Feb 2017. As a yoga teacher specializing in rehab and therapy for clients in 1:1 setting, I appreciate the 1:1 attention with my personal trainer Julian Martinez. I have been working with him since Oct 2016. I like working with him because he knows how to push me and at the same time work around my injury. After years of physical and yoga therapy, I was struggling to gain strength in my upper body. He capitalized on my strength as a yoga instructor to build focus and energy into my weak areas. Honestly, working with him has improved my yoga practice. Apart from big picture goals such as staying fit and lean, we have created short term goals that we track and work towards every month. This is long overdue review but I have been working with Colin since October 2015, so about 1.5 years now. Prior to coming to Tranform180, I have very little athletic experience before, almost never went to the gym, and certainly had no experience in weight training. I stumbled upon here from a Groupon deal and stuck around since then. I train once per week and 1) it's the one hour I look forward to every week because it's really hard workout but still a lot of fun 2) I can see visible progress in my strength almost every single week - it's incredible and 3) I grew to love my body and love working out now :D When I first started training, doing squats with just the bar (45lbs?) was a challenging feat. Now I can do squats with 1.2x my weight, deadlifts with 1.5x my weight and (almost) body weight pull ups!!! Colin is a great trainer to work with. He constantly challenges me and pushes my limits, but I never feel pressured either. He is also fun to talk to and really just a great person :) The gym is also very chill, they are very nice with letting me reschedule sessions I've missed, and never once tried to sell me more sessions. I am moving away from Seattle soon and Transform180 will be one of the places I will miss the most :'( I would definitely recommend this gym to anyone. read more

While I used to exercise sporadically before, this is the first time I have tried regular personal training, and my experience has been very positive. This is my favorite gym. I have been trained in some different gyms in Seattle but this is the only one that I can stick to. I've been training at Transform 180 with Ian for almost 6 months. Before this I was never athletic and definitely never lifted weights. It still feels strange to see muscles in my legs, arms and back. The gym is very clean. No smell of sweaty bodies. There's usually about 5 trainers with 5 clients in there at one time. Men and women of different fitness levels. There's never a feeling of being competitive. We're all there to work on our individual goals. From a person who used to make up reasons to avoid gym, I am now excited to go to the gym to work out. This transformation is in a major part due to the help and encouragement I have received from Charith since I started training with him over 4 months ago. Before starting to train with Charith, I was in need of a fitness plan that would work for me, a plan that would help me slowly improve my fitness and make me healthier. Update: I've been training with Colin for about 8 months now and really enjoy it. Colin is extremely nice and encouraging, and is never pushy, mean or intimidating. I started from absolutely no exercise program at all and my main goal was to be consistently working out, starting with once a week and going from there. Colin has helped me to do that and I can definitely feel the difference in my strength. The only challenge is that he's so popular it's difficult to re-schedule a session if he's unavailable (very rare) or I am unavailable at my normal session time. Update: I've been training with Colin for about a month now and it's been great. I also trained with the owner once and that was also great. I enjoy the sessions - they push me but make sure I'm doing things safely. The space is small but feels fine even when three sessions are happening at once. read more

Transform has been, well, transformational. When I started working out there a few months ago, I could barely bend over and touch my toes, I had fairly persistent pain in my hips, and I had fairly limited mobility through my lower body. Jennine has been awesome, ramping up the intensity at the right pace to avoid injury and stay on consistent with my training. We used more weight but fewer reps than I'm used to, and she's been great at coaching me to stay in a zone that feels challenging without trying to overdo it. I have tried working out on my own several times with a goal of losing weight. I did succeed a bit but only to gain that all back in the next few months. I reached a stage where I was scared I might get seriously ill due to my weight. So, I decided to try a personal trainer and see if that would help me. Browsing through Internet, I came across Transform 180 Groupon and bought the 6-session groupon. I scheduled an appointment for the very next day. I met Ian, my instructor on the first day. As per process he took my measurements (really embarrassing numbers) without judging me even a bit :). He had to measure my strength by making me do some jumping jacks and body squats. I was literally gasping for breath after few jumping jacks. I was not sure if I could really survive the next coming sessions for which I had already paid. Ian gave me instructions on what to do for the entire week till we met the next time. It was hard but followed it as much as I could. And then fast forward, its been 7 weeks and I just had my 8th session. I started doing squats, bench press and other stuff I could never imagine I could do. Through the sessions, I have learnt that building muscle and gaining strength should be the right goals and losing weight would be a by-product of the process. Ian pushes me the right amount and appreciates me from time to time for my effort which encourages me more. Ian and I have this silly bet going on that he would do push-ups every single time I lose 2 or more pounds a week and I would do an extra day of cardio if I don't lose that much. This bet keeps me from eating any junk food or sugary stuff. I have been winning every single time till now. :D In a total of 7 weeks, I have lost 24 pounds, I can do squats with 95 pounds, bench press with 70 pounds. All the instructors especially Ian (just because he is my instructor :P) are very encouraging and work hard to push you to your best, help to make you realize your goals. I've had a great experience here! I started out by purchasing a Groupon for 3 sessions, and after these sessions with Peter, I decided to continue to come 2x a week. Peter is fantastic. I seriously look forward to coming here every week. I've been coming for about 5 months now, and have seen major improvements in myself. Peter really takes the time to teach the proper way to do each exercise/movement, and explains the science behind it too which is awesome! He is very knowledgeable and really good at what he does. I would reiterate what others have said here. I had a goal to put on 20lbs in 6 months but, having never set foot in a gym before, let alone used weights, I was somewhat daunted. I've been working with Elliott for just over two months and through a combination of diet and weight training I've been able to put on 10lbs - so, another 10lbs in 4 months now seems totally achievable. The best thing about Transform 180 is that the trainers know when to push you and when to be patient. There have been times when I've been completely exhausted and Elliott will switch the routine to something less strenuous. Other times, things seem a lot easier and so he will push me with heavier weights/more reps. He understands my fitness goals (weight gain) and has tailored the training program to this objective. Having never trained before, I was worried about injuring myself but there is a strong emphasis on form and technique to minimize the risk. The atmosphere in the gym is very chill. There is a total range of body types and levels of experience and it's not intimidating at all. I wish I had started training a year ago as I have been totally surprised by the progress I have made in just two months. Update: I've hit my goal of putting on 20lbs in three months instead of six, so now looking to see what I can accomplish in the next three. I bought an 8 pack of training sessions, in hopes to become familiar with a gym, gym equipment, and how to lift without hurting myself. My only prior experience working with weights, was high school gym class, decades ago. I've been reading a lot about how lifting can really help change your body for the better, but I was so insecure walking into a gym, and felt that everyone would look at me and laugh about my improper technique. So, I enlisted the help of a trainer. I was expecting to work with a trainer, who would probably be bored, helping a newbie, like me. What I got instead, was Dan Tran, who is super knowledgeable about effective lifting, nutrition, and customizing a workout to achieve the results i asked for. Dan is patient and kind, but pushes me to always do better, and work harder. I'm so impressed with his approach to training, that I actually look forward to my sessions with him. That has never happened to me before with a trainer or exercise class. Even though I haven't known him very long, I feel like I'm always working out with a super smart friend, who would never push me to do something I wasn't capable of doing, but always expecting the best I can give. He has taught me so much about why we do the exercises we do, and about adequate nutrition, that I would feel comfortable, at this point, walking into any gym, and lift with confidence. I've always wanted to get into shape (who doesn't) but gyms seemed intimidating. I didn't know where to start. I saw Transform 180 while walking past it. A few months later I joined it. It's been 2 months that I've been training under Colin. I wish I had started earlier. I look forward to my workout sessions and my sessions keep me energetic during the day. Training under Colin has been a blast. He's well informed and encouraging. His encouragement and positive words have helped me push myself which I may not have done on my own. I started training with Charith almost a year ago and now I can't imagine training without him. I first started personal training to prepare for my wedding in July and have completed about 10 sessions with Colin. Turning 27 seemed to slow my metabolism and my old tricks for losing weight weren't working. I also wanted to tone my arms and back but did not have any weight lifting experience or knowledge. Colin was great about really listening to my goals. Sometimes before planning the next exercise, he would ask more specifics about what parts of my arms/shoulders/back will be showing in my wedding dress so he could tailor the workouts accordingly. Colin helped me feel more comfortable using weights and recommended exercises to continue at home. Charith has also been very helpful, checking in on how my 'at home' workouts were going in between personal training. Charith and Colin both reviewed a diet plan to help supplement my workouts and prepare me for the big day! I've definitely seen results and had people comment about my weight transformation.
