My cousin and I stopped by one Sunday a lil closer to closing. I don't think they have food but you can byoe (bring your own eats). Service was good it was our first time there so the woman that helped us out gave us the run down on how things work. In my opinion the Ambiance was fab, we sat on some nice chairs looking through floor to ceiling windows overlooking the vineyard though there isn't any grapes on the vines as yet but I'm interested to see how the vineyard looks midsummer.

Such a cute vineyard! Wish they were dog friendly but the interior is gorgeous and their outside looks even nicer when it's warm! The prices were good (about $15 for a tasting, $11-$15 for a glass) and the staff was so friendly and helpful! This is a bit out of the way, but made a great pit stop as we're trying to complete the CT wine trail! One of the better stops for sure.

A tasting flight with a view.

Have been to book clubs and just leisurely afternoons in the summer. It's such a picture spot. You can bring your own charcuterie or purchase one here on the premises. It's a lovely spot with great wine!!

ORIGIN: Tranquillity Vineyard & Winery is situated on the former summer estate of John Whittemore, a nineteenth century industrialist who amassed significant wealth from local iron production. A 45 acre subdivision of the original 300 acre estate was recently purchased from the family heirs by local entrepreneurs, Dean and Linda Yimoyines, and their son Alexander. The vineyard opened for public events in 2023. LOCATION: The vineyard is positioned on a gently sloping hill that overlooks Lake Quassapaug. CONCEPT: Dr. Dean Yimoyines explained to me that he had committed to maintaining the estate as a peaceful oasis in the course of negotiating its purchase with Whittemore heirs. With this in mind, thousands of grape vines were planted. The vineyard lives up to its name, proving a space to appreciate the picturesque topography of Connecticut. SERVICE: The vineyard is an expansion of the Yimoyines family enterprise, which includes neighboring Vyne Restaurant and Brewbury Pub. Attentive care and active involvement of family can be anticipated. EXPERIENCE: I had learned about this estate during a history of American architecture class taught by Robert A.M. Stern, and was eager to see what remains of the shingle and colonial style structures restored AND accessible to the public! Ticketed events ($75 plus tax/tip) provide a "sneak peak" of what has been developed thus far. The team worked tirelessly this summer to prepare for the first preview on September 10th. Additional dates are planned this fall. Participants learn about and tasted a variety of wine types (red, white, rose, dessert) that are being made by winemaker, Frank Renaldi. Bites prepared by Vyne's Executive Chef, Phil Polzella, are selected and distributed to complement each of the wines presented. A 10% discount on bottled wines is offered in appreciation for those who had registered for the event. TIPS: Check Vyne website for future ticketed events hosted at the vineyard. First time going to Tranquilty and I will definitely be back. The tasting room is quaint with a fireplace and comfy chairs. We tried 6 of the wines offered and all of them were great. Highly recommend trying the Sunset After Dark port wine, you won't be disappointed. Kendall works in the tasting room and is knowledgeable about the wines as well as the property and it's history. Will definitely make this a regular stop throughout the summer.

This place has the best people working there. I walk in and feel like we are all friends. Sat down with the Apple Cider Sangria (which is spectacularly delicious and refreshing and perfectly suitable for the season) and a good book to decompress from a heck of a week at work. Then I switched to a wonderfully full bodied red when it was time to start the Sip & Paint. Robin led a very fun and lighthearted painting session. We all turned out some good looking pieces under her tutelage. The evening was fantastic, the wine was stellar and the painting was memorable

Pulling up was like driving into someone else's backyard at first. But don't let that sway you, this is a marvelous gem of a winery. Their Red Table wine is like a milder Cab with a clean finish, enough to eat with a meal or sipping. I'm not into white but the Gertrude wasn't sweet at all, in fact all of their wines are quite dry, even their Rose. We've been many CT wineries, with Hopkins and Stonington Vineyards being the best, the wine quality approaches what these more established places deliver. The venue is intimate, it's small, ie, 50-60 people would fill up most of the seating in the barn/deck, but there an outside seating area adjacent that peeps walk past and aren't aware of. There were maybe 25 people there and it was fine. Parking could be tight if busy, but I suspect very few people know of this place. Owners were very nice, and love talking about their wines. Jim especially. Note no food, other than a cheese box which was good, but you can bring your own... I'd give it 5 stars but felt the flight serving pour was a bit small. Def on our list to visit again.

Aquila's gives a 30-minute grace period, which helped since the area gets very dark at night and the roads are narrow. I knew ahead of time there would be a lobster food truck and a live salsa band. When you arrive, you check in with the hostess, though there's no clear hostess stand since she's stationed at the end of the bar. The inside was crowded with no available seats, but we weren't there for the band anyway. Our igloo had a heater, but two would've been ideal. They recommend bringing a blanket, which I forgot, but it wasn't too cold--around the high 40s. We tried the "Sweet Wine Flight," which included Sparkling Rosé, Moscato, and white and red wine slushies. The white wine slushy was my favorite. It started raining while we were there, and everyone with fire pits cleared out, so I was extra glad we chose an igloo. They offered a cheese box, but it looked too small, so we stuck to drinks. Our server was polite and brought everything out quickly. Reservations give you two hours, and we had a great time. I like the variety of reservation options they offer. For suggestions: it would be nice to have a real charcuterie board instead of tiny cheese and veggie boxes. The indoor space could also be larger, especially for people coming for the live band, and there are no seats around the bar. Overall, though, it's a cozy spot, and I enjoyed the experience.

Keep in mind that there is a "Jones Family Farm Pumpkinseed Hill" at 120 Beardsley Rd., and then the "Jones Valley Farm/Jones Winery" at 606 Walnut Tree Rd. My GPS accidentally took me to the Pumpkinseed Farm at first, but it wasn't a big deal because the winery is just a few minutes away. Once I was in the right place, a staff member greeted me and gave me the wine/food menu. They have a lot of different areas to sit, including a patio with tables/umbrellas (where they had live music playing), a pavilion with tables underneath, an upper patio that was covered by a pergola with leaves/vines on top, and an inside bar area with seating. The inside bar area has garage doors that were open, leading out to the upper patio. Even though it was a hot day, I sat under the pergola and it was surprisingly cool underneath! After sitting down, a staff member quickly came over and took my drink/food order. I tried a glass of the Sunshine White, which was delicious! It was on the sweeter side though. Keep in mind that they only sell wine by the glass on the menu, but they do have a store where you can buy bottles to go. I also ordered the Simply Cheese Plate, which came with sharp cheddar cheese, Jones Berry Chutney, and sea salt crackers. This was excellent! They also do have a "Light Fare" menu with things like a hummus plate, cheesecake, popcorn, etc. The service was fast and the staff were friendly. They had a "Bouquet Bar" set up where you could buy fresh cut flowers, as well as a small gift shop. Overall a very cool winery in Shelton, I would definitely recommend!
