I went to pay it but it turns out that it was a bill from 2022. They did not bill my insurance for it back then and tried to bill them 3.5 years later. My insurance denied it since it wasn't billed in a timely manner. And W dental sent it to collections without informing me. I am upset because I don't think It was my responsibility to pay it but I did because I was unaware of the laws on medical bills. Please make sure to call your insurance and check Texas laws on medical bills before paying when it was their responsibility to bill my insurance in a timely manner. They do not care about you as a person or they would have talked to me before sending me to collections and told me the real reason my insurance denied them. I cannot tell you who to choose to be your dentist only my own personal experience with W Dental.

The front desk staff and dentist were extremely courteous, and the office was very clean and welcoming. Unfortunately, I left feeling a little disappointed and confused about the cost of my visit. My dental insurance covers routine cleanings and X-rays, so I wasn't expecting to pay an additional $190 for a treatment I wasn't entirely sure was necessary. I've never had a cavity or periodontal disease, and I was told I only had gingivitis. However, I was presented with a treatment plan that included an additional $190 charge. Like most patients, I'm not a dental professional, so I trusted the recommendation and agreed to the treatment. Afterward, I couldn't help but wonder whether it was truly necessary or simply an optional service. What made the experience even more unusual was that when I asked the hygienist if she could floss between my back teeth, she declined. I've never had a professional cleaning where flossing wasn't included, so that was surprising. I don't believe this is a bad dental office, and everyone was genuinely pleasant. However, I do think patients deserve a clearer explanation of what treatments are medically necessary, what is optional, and why additional charges apply, especially when they already have dental coverage. Overall, I appreciated the friendly staff and clean environment, but the unexpected expense left me questioning the experience. Unfortunately, I'll probably be looking for another dental office in the future that won't be $190.

I'm not very familiar with the San Antonio area just yet (I'm new here) so I came across dr. Alvarado on ZocDoc and he just happened to be the first doctor on the list. The entire week before my appointment, i had anxiety and i was scared of the pain that was yet to come! Literally - every video i watched, made it seem as if it's gonna be one of the worst experiences ever. A huge thank you to Dr. Alvarado & his assistant for taking care of me because they proved me wrong that i shouldn't be scared. He was very cool, went into details about everything I should know or wanted to know. Really understanding as well! Being that I don't live close to the area, he gave me an option about the procedure.. either take the local anesthetic (& be awake the entire time) or make another appointment so that another doctor could come in (& i can sleep through the procedure). Decided to take the local anesthetic instead even though I was scared lol but he made it a reallllyyy smooth procedure and before i know it, it was over in less than 45-50 minutes for all 4! Every staff member was very kind to me and my bf! If you're waiting for someone, they have a tv in the waiting room and they let you choose a movie lol. Also as a patient, you get to choose what you want to watch during the procedure if you're lying down! The TV was facing towards the floor which i thought was cool and different in a dental room for once lol. The interior design is also beautiful! Big windows with views (it's tinted so don't worry about strangers driving by staring at you). Looks exactly what you'd expect UPDATE ON MY GUMS/TEETH: healed nicely and quickly. So thankful i got them out because they were causing so much pain.

She was a wonderful assistant, a true asset to the office, and a real loss when she left. I always enjoyed my visits, and I appreciated watching how confidently Dr. Martinez worked. Things changed when Mary joined the office. I felt she was not honest with me about scheduling, and I brought my concerns directly to Dr. Martinez, hoping he would address the issue. Nothing changed. Later, when I needed another dentist to review my records, I asked Mary to transfer them. She was impatient, told me she would take care of it, and never did. That incident made my decision clear. I wish Dr. Martinez had taken my concerns seriously when we spoke, but because nothing was done, I will not be returning to his office. I have since found another dentist whose office is just as skilled and far more caring and friendly. In my opinion, Mary hurt his practice, and it is unfortunate that the problems were not addressed when they were brought to his attention.

Check-in was smooth and they accepted Delta Dental insurance. Everyone was very welcoming from the receptionist, to the dental assistant (Lovely), to the dentists (Dr. Esther and Dr. John), and to the hygienist (Tabitha) who cleaned my teeth. I felt very at home and loved that played Christian music and even had on Christian tv shows on in the rooms. They have very up to date equipment and technology, including mobile x-rays of your teeth that they can do on you in your room instead of having to go to the x-ray room (however they did both for me this visit). Dr. Esther addressed all issues I had with my teeth and reassured me of everything. This was overall a great experience and I look forward to being a long-term patient! Highly recommend if you are in need of a dentist and/or periodontist!

They talk, joke, and are very reassuring and gentle. It feels like they learn what they hate at the dentist, and try to not implement that on their patients. They're great at explaining the costs of any procedures, understand that everyone isn't perfect at keeping their teeth at 100%, and are ready to plan payment options with you.

I scheduled myself for a just a cleaning this morning for today Friday Sept 11 but sorry I cannot recommend them in the end. A series of disappointments led me to say not thank you and walk out. I was 20 minutes early for my appointment and they were 10 min late despite the office was closed right up to scheduled 10am appt time. Not sure why but they kept calling me by my middle name, I asked them to stop and call me by my first or last name but they kept doing it anyway. They said I needed to also get new X-Rays and later be seen by the dentist on top of this routine 6 month cleaning. I just had X-Rays and seen the dentist on the prior visit 3 months earlier, I just wanted a routine cleaning. They had a variety of reasons for the extras and kept pointing out its all covered by insurance so no charge to me this morning, but that was not my point I did not want the extras just a cleaning to determine if I really wanted their service in the end. My usual dentist is closed on Fridays so I was shopping a new dentist office. I had all kinds of trouble with a dental implant this year so I've been seen by a dentist at least 6-7 times in recent months so I'm not a big fan of getting services I don't really need or want despite their insistence of it costs me nothing today. I reluctantly agreed so go forward, the hygienist continued to call me by my middle name and failed 3 times to get my blood pressure so that is when I decided I had just about enough and canceled the whole appointment leaving and I WILL NOT BE RETURNING! Today was a far cry from the all star visit I had there 3 months ago so I know they got the potential to provide good service and obviously your results may vary but I will continue to shop for a new dentist elsewhere. Located in a strip mall off Potranco, parking was super easy.. especially for a 7am appointment lol Office was clean and modern...practice has been around for 5 years. The entire staff was fabulous! Tori was my hygienist and she was awesome. Kind, patient, caring, empathetic... she truly cared and wanted to make sure I was comfortable. She explained everything she was doing and always inquired if I had any questions or to let her know if I was uncomfortable. Bite x-rays were taken with a handheld x- ray gun and cleaning started with a sonic water machine, prior to manual cleaning with instruments. Love how technology has really stepped up these past few years. Met Dr. Brandon for my teeth exam. Very nice and professional. All these years of never having any dental issues or cavities... I succumbed to my first issue. After careful examination, a crack in one of my molars was diagnosed. A two appointment process was scheduled for application of a temporary crown , then three weeks after the final permanent crown. Crowns made are outsourced. Received my estimate at the front desk and all future appointments were made. Not looking forward to a crown, but I feel confident this experience is going to be ok. And received a little baggy containing a free toothbrush, and sample toothpaste with floss. Yay!!! My last dentist didn't offer that at all. Story to be continued......
