This is definitely newer and only a few days later but Dr. Bonilla cleared up quite a bit and went…read moreover everything that needed to be done with my children. He wanted to apologize for any miscommunication and explained everything that needed to be done not only to me but my kids as well. Before starting with the appointments, he wanted to make sure we felt comfortable to have him provide the services that needed to be done. Our experience this visit was a complete 180 from the last one. My children's comfort was top priority and that's what matters most to me. The staff had patience with my son who was terrified for his appointment. It really couldn't have gone any better.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at Brident Dental and would strongly recommend parents…read moreavoid this clinic altogether. My son had an appointment scheduled for 2:00 PM, but before the appointment they called asking if it would be okay to push it back to 2:30 PM. I agreed, which honestly should have been my first red flag. Once we arrived, we waited over 30 minutes just for my son to be called back for X-rays. Then I was told I could not go back with him during the X-rays, which immediately made me uncomfortable. He is a minor, and no other dental office has ever refused to allow me to accompany my child. Things only got worse from there. Without informing me, they moved my seven-year-old son into another room entirely. I had to track down the X-ray technician myself just to find out where my child had been taken. When I asked if I could go back with him, they acted as though it was strange for me to even ask. I had to explain that he is seven years old and that I absolutely need to be with him. After finally getting back to him, I asked whether anything besides X-rays had been done, and he said no. At that point we were already about an hour and a half into the appointment with absolutely no actual treatment or exam completed. I ultimately decided to leave because the entire experience felt disorganized, poorly managed, and honestly uncomfortable as a parent. When I informed the front desk we would need to reschedule elsewhere due to the excessive delays, they explained the doctor was "in treatment." While I understand emergencies and delays happen, patients should not be scheduled if the office already knows they cannot be seen in a reasonable timeframe. What really sealed it for me was when another employee at the front desk casually told me, "This is how the clinic is all the time just so you know." That statement alone confirmed I made the right decision walking out. Parents: save yourself the stress, wasted time, and discomfort and choose another dental office for your children.

Unfortunately, my experience here was very disappointing and left me with significant dental anxiety--something I had never experienced before. From the start, the practice felt more like a training facility than a professional dental office. The dental techs often seemed inexperienced and unsure of themselves. There's only one dentist, and much of the care was handled by the techs while I waited long periods for the doctor to make brief appearances. During one visit, I waited over two hours after a cleaning just to be seen by the dentist. Quality of care was another major concern. I had to return multiple times due to issues like temporary crowns falling off or lingering pain from treatments. Even now, over a month after my last visit, I'm still experiencing discomfort and have chosen to wait for VA care rather than return here. One particularly troubling incident occurred during a filling, when the dentist struck a nerve multiple times. Despite my clear discomfort, she didn't offer additional anesthetic and instead told me to raise my hand if I felt sharp pain again. I had to specifically request that she administer more numbing medication for future visits--a level of basic care and communication that I believe should have been standard. To be fair, the office is clean and the staff is friendly. Toward the end of my treatment, I worked with a very competent and kind dental tech--unfortunately, she is no longer with the practice. Overall, however, these positives don't outweigh the negative experiences I had during my care.

TLDR: changeover in dentists/staff strongly affects treatment. LONG wait times. It's hard to get…read moreahold of the office when needed. EXPENSIVE treatment! WORST front desk (Angela) worker; she's rude, apathetic, and still employed by this travesty of a dental practice. I was a patient here for approximately 2 years. I have had 3 dentists involved in my care in that time. Every appointment I've been to at this office has been late, without explanation, at minimum 15 minutes. I've waited up to 40 minutes past my appointment time before I was even brought to an exam room. Also, the call center is AWFUL! Every time I've had to use the call center to leave a message with my office or schedule emergency treatment, something goes wrong. Either the office doesn't call me back or the office calls to change my appointment that the call center scheduled. Detail/specific circumstance to prove my summary- I started the process for a tooth extraction and implant/crown a little over a year ago. In the time that I was healing and preparing financially for the second phase of treatment, the oral surgeon that I had left Ideal Dental. When I went to the office in April and attempted to schedule phase 2 of treatment, the date that the new oral surgeon was coming to the Culebra office in May didn't work for my prior commitments. I asked if it was possible to go to another Ideal Dental office on another date to get my procedure done and was told no. They didn't have the June date for the oral surgeon yet but they assured me that they'd call when they did. Surprise, surprise- I never got a call to schedule my June treatment and I missed the date that the new OS came to the office. They decided that suddenly I was allowed to go to other offices for treatment, so I drove from SA to New Braunfels for my appointment on a Friday. I paid the copay and then got called back and told that they don't have the parts they need for my implant because the new surgeon uses different implants than the old surgeon. The office manager there stated it was the fault of the Culebra office for not communicating the tools needed for my implant. I called the Culebra office and couldn't get ahold of anyone for several hours. Angela, front desk at the Culebra office, was apathetic and unapologetic about having me drive 2 hours round trip for no reason. She said she'd call me back when she heard from the Oral Surgery manager. Monday at 11am, I hadn't heard from them so I called to confirm if I can get an OS appointment in July still. Angela told me that the Oral Surgery manager and her talked on Friday, and they decided that I need to go find an Oral Surgeon to do my treatment instead because they didn't have the parts needed for my treatment and didn't plan on ordering them unless I couldn't find somewhere else to go. They gave me the number of an outside office to try and finish my treatment there. After calling over 6 dentists and spending 1.5 hours on the phone with various places, I finally found someone who uses the implant system that I have and could finish my treatment in a timely manner. If you've made it this far, please save yourself the hassle and go to a REAL dentist office. These box chains will become the bane of your existence. Having 3 different dentists over the course of a year long treatment is INSANE. No patient should experience that level of turnover. All the oral surgery/dentist offices that I called to find treatment for my implant were not surprised about my treatment as a patient by Ideal Dental and they strongly encouraged me to find a dentist outside of a box chain. They WILL change prices for treatment regularly. In April my crown was going to cost me one chunk of change and in June, the price increased $1,100. They either missed that my insurance had a clause that wouldn't cover the rest of my treatment OR they knew and wanted to get my treatment done there so they could charge me out of pocket after the fact. They will up charge you on more than just fluoride for regular cleanings. Please do yourself a favor and save yourself a headache. Go elsewhere.

First of all the front desk girls one in particular is so rude she acts like your not standing in front of her and you feel so awkward that you need to ask if she can see you, yes she is just ignoring you. They keep loosing dentists idk where they go but they leave for a reason probably. I had jaw pain which they couldn't find the source of and the doctor told me to come back if it kept bothering me and he would take a second look or give me a referral so I called and they said I had to come in. So I came in to get a referral and they charged me 85 dollars!! For what ?? It was so rediculous in the past they never would have charged me for something like this at any other office. All they want is your money. They over charged me as well and I tried to reach out without help. Just save yourself the trouble of wasting your time and money. They even charge you while you get a cleaning done if you want this gym flush or fluoride. Again my old dentist didn't charge for this.. Horrible place
