So this young lady comes bouncing in the room and informs me I bad to pay $1,000 before they move forward. That is some that I should have been told in January not the day of. Fortunately I did have cash with me, but that is a lot of money and I did not have an opportunity to save it up. I really like my dentist because she is very good and concerned about patient comfort and information, but not sure I will go back because of the distance. I will see if a dental office can provide the hardware that I may need replaced in the future at a reasonable cost. Because they seemed to think it was funny that I told them it was terrible to spring something like this on the day with no prior notice. The wait time is always minimal. I like the fact that his dental hygienist (the people you deal with the most) are really nice and professional. They always have good advice, and alternatives for your needs. When I had to have my wisdom teeth pulled; they offered me different options and recommended a good reasonably priced oral surgeon. The office staff tries to keep you with the same hygienist , or If you like they will change it for you. They do accept most insurances. They even worked with wife's employers self insured policy. Dr. Waggoner is a great neighborhood dentist.

I had Dr. Walters extract all 4 of my wisdom teeth a couple weeks later. There was a little confusion regarding the chauffeur on the day of the appt; no one ever informed me that my ride would need to be present in the waiting room for the entire duration of the procedure which was a little frustrating but not something I would consider to be a major inconvenience. Post-op had very very little pain even off the pain meds--I even had a complicated impaction for one tooth yet still very little pain--Dr. Walters knows what she doing! Had to make my own follow up appt after the extractions which was a little confounding because no one else ever brought the matter up; generally I would expect that this would have been scheduled before hand or at least the matter would have been brought to my attention by the office staff--all in all, this is a minor issue/mistake and don't believe that this warrants a rating demerit. Both Drs. Klenke & Walters are both extremely professional & highly personable & especially courteous. I would absolutely recommend this dentist office. The hygienist & clerical staff are great! Very professional & efficient. Teri, the financial coordinator is great as well--very clear & patient in planning for the financial aspect of the treatment plan. Very very VERY satisfied customer overall & will def remain a customer; I have my routine cleaning & porcelain fillings appts already scheduled! Will most likely follow up thereafter w/ Invisalign, finances allowing of course. Thank you both very very much office staff, Dr. Klenke & especially Dr. Walters! I make it a habit to know what services I receive and what kind of benefits that are associated with the services through insurance. Yesterday, I received a bill in the mail (first time) saying that I owe almost $2,000. (The bill has no information of any kind explaining where this amount is coming from) So, naturally I was concerned and called the dentist office immediately. This is the first time I am seeing or hearing this amount billed to me. I spoke to a newly hired office employee that explained to me that I had been carrying a balance for almost 2 years for services that were rendered. Everytime I get any kind of treatment or service, I make it a habit to PAY IN FULL the amount that is owed the date services are rendered. If not, then I set up a PAYMENT PLAN to cover any remaining amount the date services are rendered. The young lady on the phone explained to me EOB's that are covered through insurance and the remaining amounts are billed to the clients. My questions were why am I just now receiving a bill? Why are you threatening to send me to collections in 10 days if the bill is not paid in full? Why did I not receive a statement, phone call, or bill prior? Why would I continue to get services/ treatment at an establishment if I have an open balance? Why doesn't the bill show detailed information about what was billed for and why? The billing system that created this document hasn't been updated since 2022 showing the lack of monitoring the billing system has. (Shown at the bottom of the bill) Keep in mind, I received this bill (for the first time) 12/23/24. Two days before Christmas. Judging by the past reviews of disgruntled prior existing patients, it seems that I am not the only one who has had issues with the billing department and the LACK OF TRANSPARENCY through billing. I would never agree to pay for services, NOT knowing the full amount that is due at the time of services. This type of business practice appears to be shady and not forthcoming. This kind of business practice literally leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

From the front desk, to the administrative, the management, the medical…read morestaff, medical counselors to the oral surgeon, I received the single most needed e mergency appointment I could ever hope to be blessed with this day, and not just any day, but on a day they were fully booked. To say they flowed like water, moved like an oiled machine, sang in harmony......believe,..these are all undersatetments. Kitty Haawk Smiles Dentristy in University Height, has me as a client for life. Saying they saved me is the truth. I am highly suceptible to infection. I have just managed to live through one that hit November 2024 along my spine and in my arms. This infection being so bad, it nearly took my life. Over 3 months of intravenous antibiotics, months of in home rehab. and I still cannot walk straight up and down(hunchback) but alive. In fact, pulling through percentage wise was not above 20%. The wonderful Dr's, Nurses and many medical teams at Stone Oak pulled me through. These are the bad types of infections. When you hear the word Mersa, yeah, that's the bad kind. Yet I was blessed and they were skilled. I have to be so very careful in everything I do. However infections I come by very easily unfortunately. Well as fate would have it, I just got out of the hospital on Topperwein yesterday spending a 3 day ordeal with an abssys molar. As I said, the first people I spoke with and told my plight, were the ladies at the front desk. I know they could tell I was scared, and I was. The ordeals I had gone throught. I was told by Topperwein Hospital get tooth wextracted immediately upon discharge. And damn straight that was my intent. So filled upon on 2 different types of antibiotics, one type which I constantly stay on because I get infection so easy, I set out to get an oral surgeon that could accommodate and extract the same day that took my insurance. NOT AN EASY TASK. I like to think by blessings again after hours of searching, along came Kitty Hawk Smile Dentistry and Orthodontics. They werent just experienced, knowledgeable, but they treated me as if I had been their patient for many many years and from the 1st person to the last, they all knew my case and issues as if they HAD truly known me for years. I was told what my options were, which they thought were the best options and why, and free to make up my own mind as to which route to take. All put me at ease and I cried because I knew this was all going to be in the past in a mattter of a couple of hours. I was totally floored. What person says they had a great time at the dentist. This very blessed and thankful 59 year old lady does. My brother told me I had an extra head growing out of my chin. You know that joke,.....Does your face hurt,,,,,,Well it hurts me. That was me. I thank the whole Team for taking care of me. From the Front desk,, to being able to sit with Jaimie M. and go over my options, she made my choices quick and easy. Especially, Christina Derosa for initially consulting over my issues and for actually getting to enjoy for the first time ANY visit to the "mouth" doctor. However, Dr. S. Atkins I sit here tonight and feel what nice work was done, how comfortable I feel tonight. No huge gaping hole, no pain to speak of really, (but yesI am taking the meds you prescribed), its like you took my meessed up mouth, fixed it and then dressed it up nicely for ease and comfort, but for making me get my courage back and pushing me just a little further in reminding me it was ALL about ME and MY comfort, also I cant forget the ladies that assisted Dr. Atkins, my pain matters, as does honesty. I got the straight forward version with smiles. Just how I like it. And I know you all think this is complete BS and overkill, but I dont give a damn. I am straight up, I am blessed I chose that number to dial after dialing out of service numbers, dropped numbers, no oral surgeons serving on the team for 3 hours and calling my insurance 5 times. We had a mixed experience at Kitty Hawk Smiles Dentistry…read more Unfortunately, my visit started off poorly due to the front office manager, Nikki. She came across as very rude and unwelcoming. She frequently talked over me and cut me off before I could finish my questions or receive clear answers. That kind of interaction is frustrating and not what you expect from someone running the front office of a dental practice. There was also a communication issue during the appointment. The hygienist was not informed that I was receiving orthodontic treatment, so the cleaning was started without removing the braces first, which should have been addressed beforehand. That said, the back office staff was great. The hygienist was very informative and took time to educate me on proper care and how often certain treatments should be done. The doctor and orthodontic staff were also excellent--professional, knowledgeable, and pleasant. Overall, the clinical care itself was solid, but the front office experience and communication need improvement, as they set the tone for the entire visit.
