On our way to the John Day area from Rogue Valley, discovered a broken leaf spring on our travel trailer when we stopped in Prineville. Called all over, but only place that had the part we needed was Bend Trailers. So we carefully drove back to Bend and replaced the part in the parking lot. The mechanic wasn't available to help, as it was almost closing time at 4:00 on a Friday, but LaDawna was a fantastic help, staying until we were able to get the new leaf spring and wheel back on the trailer. Was in Bend, OR for a few months and purchased equipment for our SUV to be towed behind our RV. Decided to take a chance since there are not many options. The first sign this company was awful, no response to our website inquiry, email or phone calls. I decided to go in to their facility. Showed them exactly what needed to be installed. They are willing to only perform 3 of the 4 part installs. "Where should I go for the other"? Answer: " I don't know" WOW! With limited options I decided to proceed but asked for an estimate and available install times. I was in the OR on my way to pick up a horse in WA. Got a new hitch on my horse trailer in Reno and it had my trailer way too low to the ground and all the weight was on my back tires. Looking at a very long drive horse in trailer back to Southern CA I quickly searched for a replacement in Bend. LaDawna and Nick and the installer (didn't catch his name) @ Bend Trailers were able to set me up with a great hitch on short notice and LaDawna even checked in to make sure I had no problems on my long journey home! Beware.....This company is unorganized and has horrible communication as well as customer service! We order a 5th hitch adapter from them in preparation for an upcoming trip we had scheduled that was over a month away. After hearing nothing about our order for 3 weeks, we called and was told our order was shipping out that Wednesday, when we called on Friday to get tracking info, They had no update and said the needed to call the manufacturer. After getting a call back, they now told us the manufacturer canceled our order due to address verification problems and the product being out of stock. 1 week from our schedule leave day! Urg! We then called the manufacturer direct and guess what?? Product was in stock and they were amazing at with expedited shipping to us in time for our trip!! As if that is not bad enough, It gets WORSE! We come back from our trip and now we have their original part we ordered on our door step. We called them 3 separate times to figure out how to return it to them for a refund. Each time we called they said someone will call us back! We finally get ahold of a women who wants to charge us shipping to return it and also wants us to take this heavy hitch into a UPS store. We told her this was unacceptable and if we could not get this resolved, we were gonna have to dispute it with our credit card company. She then says "OK..Go Ahead Thanks Bye" And hung up the phone! I placed an online order on July 18, 2020 and my credit card was charged in full. Two days later, on July 20, 2020 I received email that my order awaits shipment. Over 7 weeks later (50 days) no product received, no updates received, nor refund issued. I emailed multiple times, called and left a message (no one answered the phone), and contacted them via their website. No answer. I understand that due to Covid-19 company may be affected with the product shortage. But lack of communication with no returned email, a returned phone call, or issued a refund (if product is unavailable) is unacceptable for any business. I called this company a few days ago and spoke to a rude woman. The conversation started off decent, but then I asked a question about Lippert bolt on axles. I said I had 4inch drop axles and asked if the Lipperts would work. That is when the conversation went south quickly. She told me she had no idea and there's no way to tell. They'd have to see the trailer to know and there's absolutely no way of knowing without my presence there. I asked if there was someone possibly more familiar with the Lipperts and she told me that no one else would know and there's no way to tell, etc etc. She told me to go to a local shop and buy it there instead of from them. All this was with a weird confrontational rudeness that I was kind of blind sided by. I'm not sure why the rudeness happened when I asked about the Lipperts, but I wish I had gotten an actual answer. I need replacement axles for my trailer and thought those would be the best. Now I have to shop at another online axle seller and hopefully they will know more about full length torsion axles. read more

I called for a quote to fix a damaged fender from when our neighbor borrowed our trailer. I told Nick this was a repair I would be reimbursed for and wanted to know if I should try and hammer the fender, or just replace it. He quoted 200 total for replacement. I told him that was reasonable and let's schedule. Then I spoke to a gal in the office who helped me reschedule the appt the following week......I told her what Nick quoted and she agreed it was pretty close. We picked up the trailer today and the total for the fender replacement was 335.50! A very long way off 200! Nick told me it was a more time consuming job than he had planned, but I would still be responsible for the charges. This was a job I had quoted because I made the neighbor pay for it. Now we are out the extra 135.50! I asked him why he didn't call and ask me before he spent my money and he couldn't say anything other than the standard response...it took longer, and he didn't know what fender it was.....and when I told him repeatedly I purchased the trailer from THEM he asked me when! Why the heck would that matter? It's not even 5 yrs old. If I had been given the choice, I would have hammered the damage and kept the 200 bucks. AND the fender doesn't match the original! Not a female friendly business. Went in to order a receiver hitch for my bike rack. After giving the man at the counter my car make and model, he says, I hope they make a ______ receiver hitch. I replied, they do, I checked on YOUR website. (I already knew they did because I had one prior). Welcome to Clown Town. Called to inquire about hitch availability. They said they would call back. Never did. Called back to schedule an appointment. At closing time the day prior I get an email notification saying my appointment had changed to 4 hours later. I call them them the next day and they were extremely confrontational, saying I had been rude to them on the phone. Huh? I calmly explained that I do not have the luxury of eating bon-bons all day and adjusting to their changing schedule. The lady on the line didn't want to hear any of it and was extremely argumentative. Maybe she had a troubled childhood. If so, my thoughts and prayers go out to her. In the background I could hear gentle clown music, but it was apparent these clowns don't serve children's birthday parties. I think they are more into chasing cute animals with chainsaws. Their customer service sucks; I can't comment on their ability to install hitches because I told them to f*ck off. I went online to order a product called Protect All. the website showed two items with the same picture. I order the cheaper one, only to find out it was the smaller size. I called as soon as the items arrived. the woman answering their customer service line was very unprofessional. she said over and over I made the mistake, which I agreed to. I asked if I could exchange the items for the larger size and pay the difference I asked if there was anything they could do. she said no. I asked about their return policy. she said return the items and hung up. I have returned the items, which I packed very well, and now they have refused shipment saying the items were damaged. STAY AWAY!!! Horrible communication! VERY SHADY business practices! I ordered a hitch that showed in stock. The next day, got a message that was awaiting shipping. A couple weeks later with no update, I left MANY MANY messages as their phone system says to do. NO ONE EVER CALLS BACK. I finally spent two hours constantly calling until I reached someone (Carrie). She was VERY NICE, looked in to it, said she'd call me back. She did in fact call me back about 15-min later, saying that she contacted the supplier and it will ship in no more than a week. When that time had expired, I checked my account and it still says it's awaiting shipment. So...after a hour calling back repeatedly (since they never call back when you leave a message), I talked a nice woman named Rochelle this time. She said she'd look in to it and call me back. Later that day, I got an email (not a call), that the hitch was out of stock and I would be refunded in no more than 10-days. So...they've had my money for 6-weeks, and would have just happily kept it unless you actually TALK to someone. Ordered a part that they obviously don't gave in stock. Received a shipment from them that was the incorrect part. i called and emailed them about the incorrect parts I received. They asked me to take a picture of the parts that I received and email it to them. Have heard nothing. Emailed two different emails about this and have heard nothing. They charged my card immediately and also sent a tracking # that only shows a tracking of a package awaiting to be received by the USPS. I asked for some correspondence and refund but again have heard nothing. I would not suggest using this company for online ordering of parts. I understand bussiness and maybe they made a mistake but no one was nice enough to even say hi. Only that was the wrong price and treating me like it was my mistake! First, on the website, it's incomplete and lacks the ability to correctly order a trailer axle. Second, it quotes you "free freight" but that's also incorrect, because if you call them they'll confirm that there is a freight charge. 3rd, I got the impression on the phone that the guy was only half paying attention as he was taking my parts order. And finally, he swore he'd call me "right back" with more info. Well, it's been 5 days now. I'm just glad I didn't send him any money. I'm sure they have made some folks happy, as there's mostly 5 star yelp reviews here, but the way I see it, you can't have that many mistakes on your website, bendtrailer.com , and get real 5 star ratings. These guys are amazing. My wife and I were traveling from crater lake through bend Oregon when our leaf spring of our axel of our tear drop broke. It was 445 toward the end of the business day and these guys stayed late just to make sure we could continue on our trek to mount hood. They seriously saved the day! Wish I had read the reviews before ordering. FIve items ordered First item comes in four days. Great! Items two and three come in six days. But, wait! Item two isn't in the box and item three is there but only one and I've ordered six. The shipping document says that they have fulfilled the order. No idea what is going on with items four and five. Seven phone calls later to Bend trailer and to the drop shipper, three states, and two time zones I'm always told that it will be taken care of but nothing happens. Hard to know who is in charge, but I'm the only one working hard at resolving the issue. Three weeks in, I'm losing hope of seeing the parts or getting my money back. We had been struggling to get a horse trailer light replaced for an embarrassing amount of time, probably several hours due to several factors (connector depth, light depth, and then a truck fuse). We called ahead to see if they could help us out in a pinch since we were on schedule to haul shortly after, and despite being very busy they not only helped us find a light and connector that fit but carved out time to see us right away. They quickly identified the issues and had us going in no time. Their customer service was excellent and their pricing was very reasonable. Sold me the wrong raft trailer most likely for someone with a 15" lifted truck. I have a basic 2018 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck with a 3in lift. They were not able to identify something was wrong here and instead sold me on 11" stinger & new safety chains. They damaged my truck by installing towing accessories that did not clear the truck body. Picked up trailer on 7-13-19 & left a review on 8-2-19 after they were not able to confirm a new trailer was even being built yet. They also have failed to officially take responsibility for the damage done to my truck. Now i go to the river with a dented rust spot on the tailgate of my new truck. In order to get rafting gear out of the back of the pickup bed I have to unhook the trailer entirely as well as remove the tow stinger to safely open the tailgate. This is especially difficult when the raft is on the trailer full of stuff and the trailer tongue does not have a tongue jack. They set me up for complete failure! read more
