We liked the porch swing and was nice to have the game area near by. The campground looked clean when we walked to their playgrounds. Our son enjoyed the playground. They only had the main office restrooms due to the cold temps. We would stay again when in the area.

Beautiful lake, nice boat ramp and a small beach area. Bath houses are old need to be upgraded but had good hot water. Most of the camping sites are permanent sites. Only ten sites that rent. Any site you that you may rent are all great. Graveled full hook ups and picnic table. A nice tree at every site so you do have some shade. Not far to bathhouses. Will be going back there for a weekend.

Enter River Pointe RV Park & Campground - A brand new midsize RV park currently boasting 55 level, roomy lots, designed by dedicated owners who are devoted to this gem of a park; The park is easy to get to in a scenic area near historic Morganton. The owners are very accommodating and I just can't say enough about what wonderful people they are. They've created a very nice, quiet park surrounded by untouched forest on 3 sides, above a scenic river. A laundry/bathhouse is at one end and it's almost up and running...with more conveniences on the way! Getting inspections, permits and construction completed to open this new park wasn't easy in the midst of the pandemic, but they were committed to their dream; After many frustrating delays, the full hookup campground is now a reality for us all to enjoy. The coffee shop was a nice feature, but we were disappointed that it wasn't open on our way out of town Sunday. We understand why it's closed on Sundays, but the coffee shop, also being open to the public, should be open on Sundays if they're going to use this as a selling feature for coming to Big Mike's. The parking pads are a decent size and we had one right on the river. Since we were there in October, there wasn't a whole lot to do especially in the creek. It was evident at the time that big Mike was still working on expanding and building his dream RV park. The open area field is perfect for families so kids can run around or play ball. Overall, it was clean and the shower facilities were one of the best we'd experienced on our travels. We highly recommend big Mike's RV Resort!

Not as positive: The only staff that was not bothered to be at work was the girl that traveled around with yogi and the man bartender at scouts table, besides them - we did not have pleasant vibes from staff. The VIB pass has potential, but no one we spoke with knew where to get the popcorn bucket filled, no one knew about the refillable drink cup and overall it seemed like there needed to be a staff briefing on these passes. The food wasn't great at the restaurant/snack bar, not a huge deal because our cabin had a way to cook some food. As a whole, we really enjoyed our time. We will definitely come back again.

The maintenance man who confirmed the presence of bed bugs reported that this has been a repeated problem for these cabins. We reached out to yogi bear by phone and by email to alert them and ask for compensation. It's been 8 days and they still haven't responded.
