Our cabin was cute with a full-sized bed and twin bunks along with a chair and a high top bar table. It had heat which was great for the chilly nights. Also ac which we didn't need. We liked the porch swing and was nice to have the game area near by. The campground looked clean when we walked to their playgrounds. Our son enjoyed the playground. They only had the main office restrooms due to the cold temps. We would stay again when in the area.

Beautiful lake, nice boat ramp and a small beach area. Bath houses are old need to be upgraded but had good hot water. Most of the camping sites are permanent sites. Only ten sites that rent. Any site you that you may rent are all great. Graveled full hook ups and picnic table. A nice tree at every site so you do have some shade. Not far to bathhouses. Will be going back there for a weekend.

Biggest downsides were there were no working bathrooms at pool and women's bathroom next to game room was always used and door had no lock. Men's bathroom sucked as the toilet was either stuffed up or no paper. Was able to shower at bathroom under office. We didn't use pool knowing there was no working bathroom and all those kids in pool. People in park were friendly and office staff were wonderful. Mostly annuals so weekends are packed with people and too many golf carts.

Enter River Pointe RV Park & Campground - A brand new midsize RV park currently boasting 55 level, roomy lots, designed by dedicated owners who are devoted to this gem of a park; The park is easy to get to in a scenic area near historic Morganton. The owners are very accommodating and I just can't say enough about what wonderful people they are. They've created a very nice, quiet park surrounded by untouched forest on 3 sides, above a scenic river. A laundry/bathhouse is at one end and it's almost up and running...with more conveniences on the way! Getting inspections, permits and construction completed to open this new park wasn't easy in the midst of the pandemic, but they were committed to their dream; After many frustrating delays, the full hookup campground is now a reality for us all to enjoy. Big rig friendly and staff is very friendly, grounds are kept quite clean. Very easy to maneuver our 43ft Class A Coach. Checked in, they gave me the "Rules & Regs" information, car tag and things of interest in the Gaffney area. We stayed for a week in Premium site #316, overlooking the pond. Simply beautiful!! They have a couple of ducks & geese around but they were not pests. Owners have a routine schedule of feeding them. Fun to watch. There is a section for "longer term stays".... but they were quiet and those we met, as we took walks, were friendly. They have a pool, mini-golf and there are walking trails around the 3 ponds. Careful... use exit #90, the exit GPS says us sometimes closed. Advise that you call the Campground to get construction updates.

The staff was great! Very hospitable and accommodating. The property was very clean, and tidy. Loved having cement pads to park on and grass Along with a fenced dog park to walk our dog. It was quiet and peaceful which is just what we wanted. Free kayak, paddle board and canoes to enjoy and pontoon boat rental on site. The property is set up with three tiers with angled parking for optimal views of the water. It seemed a little tight for maneuvering but thankfully we are only 25' long so we didn't have too much trouble. I probably would have given 5 stars except the WiFi was horrible at best. At least it was for us. There is a new Publix grocery store approximately 2 miles up the road, which I give 5 stars.

We had to go back through a neighborhood to find the right spot, and we waited for, the camp to bring us to our site. The coffee shop was a nice feature, but we were disappointed that it wasn't open on our way out of town Sunday. We understand why it's closed on Sundays, but the coffee shop, also being open to the public, should be open on Sundays if they're going to use this as a selling feature for coming to Big Mike's. The parking pads are a decent size and we had one right on the river. Since we were there in October, there wasn't a whole lot to do especially in the creek. It was evident at the time that big Mike was still working on expanding and building his dream RV park. The open area field is perfect for families so kids can run around or play ball. Overall, it was clean and the shower facilities were one of the best we'd experienced on our travels. We highly recommend big Mike's RV Resort!

We had a bit of a rollercoaster experience during our recent family stay! On the bright side, the…read morekids had a blast with the jump pads, the coaster carts, and mini-golf. The cafe and ice cream were fantastic, and the food overall was a major highlight. However, our arrival and first night were pretty rough. For a $1,000 cabin rental, we expected a much higher standard of cleanliness and preparation. We were shocked to find large roaches on the top bunks and a cabin full of bugs. To make matters worse, despite having a family of four, only one set of sheets was provided, leaving us with nowhere to sleep the first night so our first day here was not a good start since we didn't sleep well, such a bummer. We reported it right away, but had to go back a second time before getting help. There were also a few safety and sanitation issues that raised concerns. The Wibit pads were completely covered in geese poop, and at the waterfront, there were no small life jackets available--leaving a ton of kids wearing oversized jackets with zero staff monitoring the area. My son got a bad cold with ear and sinus infection from the filthy water and swimming in feces. We also received zero info at check-in about the weak Wi-Fi or resort basics. We are making the best of our trip and still plan to enjoy the remaining activities, but management definitely needs to step up cleanliness, safety oversight, and communication. Also the staff came up to me and asked our golf cart number while we were relaxing. That was a bit awkward to me but understand they want to keep tabs on them.
