Three nights at this campground and I would have stayed longer but they only honor the Passport America discount https://www.yelp.com/biz/passport-america-crestview for that long and so I headed onwards. They are located right next to the Interstate and very easy to access with a larger RV. As well, the proximity to the highway meant that my mobile coverage was outstanding. This is a large campground with several dozen pads. I was at one facing a small fishing pond and while I had neighbors on both sides, it was still very quiet. The pad was level and the hookup - 30/50 amp, water, dump - all worked perfectly well for me. The pad area is crushed stone and grass, so it was nice to not be concerned about tracking dirt back into the RV. The bathhouse was clean and comfortable. I felt secure using it. Overall, this is a good place to spend the night. Not a destination in itself. Functionally the park is good, it's clean, all hookups and cable TV work well. Campground wifi is slow, but it works well. Strong Verizon Cell signal in the park. Negatives, the only dumpsters and showers are near the office, there are none further into the park as most RV parks have. Also, there is no signage in the park indicating where the sites are--its easy to get lost until you get the hang of the place. read more

Overall the campground is nice, That was out very first time staying at the campground. We decided that we would like to go back next year on or around that same date that, So before we left on that Sunday we decided to make our reservation for the next year and was told that that the deposit will need to be the cost of the nightly rate which was definately ok with us. All campgrounds are different in the way they take deposits. 5 months later I called to cancel that reservation. I called and spoke with the Manager/Owner (Kali) to cancel our reservation, When I asked about our refund Kali told us that we will not get our refund due to that weekend being an event weekend. We had no clue about any event when making our reservation for the next year. So if you are ever making a reservation at the Mount Airy Campground, always make sure before making that reservation to ask if there are any events going on during the time that you are wanting to stay. Even after explaining to Kali that we were never made aware of any events and never made aware of the campground keeping our money that we put down as a deposit. I think that this is wrong and definately should have been brought to our attention at the time of making our reservation. So for my rating for the campground, I give 5 stars, for the staff/management I do not! rate any stars at all. Lesson Learned on our part and we never want to go back to this campground. I hope in the future the managment team will get better with communicating all reservation being made on any event taking place at the campground. read more

Very dishonest! They have dropped the ball on a YouTube meetup. They nothing but tents and campers are allowed. Ok fine rules are rules. But here's the kicker. They allowed it at last year's meetup. So if they would have informed the organizers of this year's meet up it would have been nice!!! Now there are people scrambling to find other accommodations. When informed this place is very rude and argumentive. We highly recommend another place to camp instead of here!! read more

What a beautifully quiet campground with easy access to Hwy 601 into Mt Airy, NC. Wide spots with level gravel parking spots. Lots of grassy areas to walk the fur-babies. We will definitely be returning! read more

Loved the big spacious campsites. There was plenty of space to get out & walk or run for exercise. We enjoyed learning the back history of the property too! It was amazing to hear the land was owned by the famous Siamese twins Eng & Chang Bunker. The people running the camp are relatives of Eng & Cha. It was fun learning all about Mayberry town and all about the old TV show too! read more

We pulled into our site which was beautiful and so clean!! We asked for a fire ring and picnic table and within 30 minutes they had delivered! The ring was huge and too big for our grate and asked if they had something smaller so we could cook our dinner! The gentleman returned with a smaller ring and grate to fit over it!! The staff was above and beyond helpful and friendly!! Will return if in the area! It was a great experience! read more

The site was nice. Had enough room between campers. No table at some campsites. Ours was one. No Wifi, I guess those improvements coming in 2012 are still on the road. Really close to the interstate. Noise didn't bother us but constantly seeing cars go by detracts from the beautiful scenery. Having only 2 showers (men's & women's) is ridiculous for 200 sites. Only 2 restrooms are near the office. The men's seems to have black mold growing on the ceiling of the shower. The main reason for the low rating is that as we were site seeing, they unplugged our camper to mow the grass. They did not plug it back in. When we arrived the cats were in distress. No apology from the office or staff. If we had stayed out longer we could of lost our cats. Thus upset my wife greatly and ruined what would have been a great day read more

It is obvious that the owners of this park love what they do and appreciate their investment. So well kept. We arrived after lots of rain, but the gravel roadways and campsites had been graded and were quite level. The views are beautiful and the location is right off the interstate. Really good placement of water, power and sewer. All worked as expected. Will definitely visit again. read more

We had a Group Rally there, (Mid-South Road Runners a chapter of Fleedwood Motorhome Association) All the staff was Supper, They came by several times to see if we needed anything. The Grass was mowed beautiful. We had 18 Coaches there from 5 Different States. We used the Large Picnic shelter to prepare our Meals & the Furnished Kitchen, Plenty of Room for 36 People & More. I would gladly give this campground 5 stars except for the lack of bathrooms. There is one shower and 2 stalls for the men for over 100 sites. This should be against code. Other than lack of sufficient bathroom facilities I do really like this campground. Grassy tiered sites with full hookups and cable. Really nice staff. And very well maintained. And nearby Mt. Airy is delightful town that was Andy Griffiths home town. Great for antiquing, shopping, ice cream and fudge. And there's a nearby super Walmart for RV supplies etc. read more

A great place to RV. A very friendly staff willing to help make your stay enjoyable. Open level gravel sites with good room between campers. Pull throughs and back ins, full hookups 50 and 30 amps, good cable, wi-fi is spotty but improvements are coming. Easy on and off to I 74 and there is some road noise on sites near the highway. We usually have a fan on and don't hear the noise. No pool but there are two lakes. Laundry and bath facilities are well maintained. No camp store but Walmart is about 2 miles away. Very close to many stores and places to eat. The prices are very reasonable. We stay here often and plan to continue. read more

Beautiful sites at various raised sections. Some are higher with slight mountain views and some are lower close to the pond. Eng and changs historic farmhouse are on the premises. They were the first Siamese Twins in the country. It's quiet here and it's our get away close to home. read more

Full hook ups (30 and 50 amp) with wifi and cable, large sites that include a picnic table and fire ring. I know they are getting more fire rings that are permanent to each site. Family owned and they take great pride in the cleanliness of the park and work to maintain the beautiful green areas. When I needed something they were all over it and wanted to make sure that I was having a good time. Great price, great location, lots to do, super nice people! This is a very large campground and the sites are squeezed in very close together. One bathroom for this large campground at the entrance which could be a great distance from your campsite. Yes, there are nice mountain views and yes, it is 5 miles from Mt. Airy but I do not like feeling like a sardine. The office staff is very friendly but as this is open year round, you might expect a little more supplies in the office, but sadly, no. Fire pits are NOT at every site and a lot of the sites don't even have picnic tables because there is no room for one. I would NOT stay here again. read more

Great little campground. Very friendly staff, willing to share history of the property still owned by descendants of the famous Eng and Chang, Siamese twins. Level gravel sights on different elevations so you can see the whole campground from about any site. Fire rings, picnic tables, shelters for groups. Right off the interstate, great place to stop going north or south. Full hookups. Close to Mt Airy, home of Andy Griffith, lots of nice shops and eateries. Reasonably priced. read more

Aug. 1, 2016 This is a very pretty campgrounds, very open, easy accessable sites on different levels, full hook ups, 30 and 50 amps. we didn't use the facilities so I can't comment. I was a little disapointed in the town of Mayberry, but would return to this campground, and in fact we are on our way home. read more

Beautiful, clean campground. Meticulously maintained. large spaces with easy access. Easy access off interstate. Wifi with good connection. Its a half way stay for us on our trip to Myrtle beach. May berry Campground it is wonderful place to camp. My wife and I and our puppy stayed for 5 day in June 2015 the owners and staff go above and beyond to make our stay pleasant the sites are level and clean. Plenty of space for pull through other sites are large too and convenient our area was peaceful. Free Wi Fi, and Cable that's A +. Nice Laundry Room. We did not use the bath house or bathroom since we have one in our Rv. We are returning next year 2016 to stay 4 weeks. Will do another review then . read more

We have stayed at this campground twice and will return again if we are in the area. Nice wide sites, full hookups, 30 & 50 amps at all sites. The sites are set up at different elevations. Pull throughs and back ins. Everything is neat and clean. This is a family owned and run campground. The staff is friendly, efficient and accommodating. This is not necessarily a place to bring the kids. There is no pool or playgrounds or clubhouse and the bath house is very limited and a long hike to most sites. The bath house is clean and well stocked. Just one shower. Some sites are very quiet. Some sites get traffic noise from one or both of the nearby Interstates but it is not enough to keep us awake. Wi Fi is sketchy. We got it at one site but not the other. It's a good reason to unplug for a while. It appears that they are expanding on the south side of one of the ponds and they may be adding some cabins. This is a great place to stay for Mayberry Days if you can get a reservation. You may need to call now for next year! read more

We held our F.R.O.G. (Forest River Owners Group) Rally here. The campground bent over backwards to accommodate our every request! We brought in 68 rigs and pretty much took over the campground. They took it in stride and even bought more picnic tables to make sure we had enough. Kali, the manager, communicated very well with me regarding campsite changes, cancellations, additions, vendors and more. Tim, the host was very helpful any time we needed anything. The grounds are well maintained and very beautiful. The kids loved the playgrounds. All of our members had nothing but positive reviews about this campground and the town of Mayberry.
